Guy try's selling on Craigslist as a private seller. He has one word answers while attempting to sell a camper at 20k. He accepted my offer of 17k with a reply of sure. Took a bit but finally got his address which I googled. Found out he was a dealer, and read his reviews. It confirmed what I was thinking about his one word reply's (he's a asshole). Clearly he's got plenty of business (just not mine). Definitely not a people person. Weird he choose dealing with people as a career. Read your reviews people it may save you . He has the camper I want and is willing to sell it for what I'll pay. I just won't do business with someone who doesn't appreciate the people who pay his bills. I'm writing this review in hopes that it might help someone else avoid having the same sort of negative, costly experience I had with this company. I hired this company to install an inverter and a battery monitor into my brand new travel trailer, and the work that they performed was careless at best, and potentially a dangerous fire hazard. When you hire someone who is supposedly a professional, you generally expect them to do at least as good of a job as you could do yourself, but this was definitely not my experience with Aspen RVs. The first issue I discovered had to do with the number of circuits that they connected to the inverter. When I dropped off my trailer, I discussed with owner Matthew Simpson that I would like to have the inverter installed so that it powered all of the circuits in my trailer with the exception of the air conditioner and the microwave oven. When I arrived to pick up my trailer I was informed that they were only able to wire up one circuit to the inverter because it could only be connected to circuits protected by a GFCI. I was not happy about this, but I let it go. After I got the trailer home, I decided that it might be a good idea to take a closer look at the work they performed and I'm sure glad I did. I opened up the compartment where they had mounted the inverter and noticed that the positive cable connection to the inverter had a lot of electrical tape wound around it. It looked really sloppy so I decided to take a closer look. That's when I noticed that the positive cables were not firmly attached to the inverter. The cables were completely loose! This is a very high current connection and the inverter's installation manual clearly states that these connections need to be torqued tightly. A loose connection here is a potential FIRE HAZARD, and this is very clearly called out in the installation manual. I was shocked that anyone that considers themselves a professional would make such a serious mistake. I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt, but someone left the cable loose and wrapped it up with electrical tape! Bear in mind that this inverter was installed directly below our bed, so any fire could have been a very dangerous situation indeed! Upon further inspection, I discovered the reason that the connection had been left loose. The connection attaches to the inverter with a stud and nut. Evidently, they lost the metric sized nuts that came with the inverter, and tried to force imperial sized nuts on the studs! The nut was just barely threaded onto the stud and was clearly the incorrect size for the stud. After discovering how they had left the positive cable, I started inspecting the negative side. There was one cable that attached to the negative side of the inverter and a smaller cable that was just left touching the lug of the main cable and wrapped up with a lot of electrical tape. Again I was shocked that anyone would think this was an adequate way to make an electrical connection! I unwrapped the electrical tape and found the stud on the electrical side was shorter than the positive side. Evidently they forced the wrong size nut on and ended up having to grind the stud down to clean the threads up. A trip to Ace Hardware could have identified that this was a metric size stud. Instead, they just took a grinder to the stud and now it is barely long enough to thread a nut halfway on. Unbelievable! I discovered many other problems and ended up re-wiring most of it myself. I sent an email to the owner Matthew Simpson detailing the issues I found, but never received a response. I was so very hopeful when I discovered Aspen RV's especially given all of the great reviews I read online, but I was extremely disappointed with the work that was performed on my trailer and feel like I got royally screwed for over $3400. I would not recommend this company to do any type of electrical work on an RV. read more

Matt was totally professional and repaired our RV within hours and The cosT was very reasonable. I cannot say enough for how professional and skilled Matt was. My AC broke on our RV and I am not one to trust just anyone to work on my RV but would recommend him to anyone with any size RV. He keeps you abreast of everything he does and gets the job done right and on time, so don't let the appearance of his shop area detour you. Very honest. Thanks Matt appreciate you. read more

Called aspen RV for service. They said That they Would call me back, They never called me back. I would never take my RV there after that. Undependable. There business is in an awful tight space. Matt and the mechanics at Aspen RVs are great. They troubleshoot and call you back when they say they will, try to be accommodating and flexible, will take good care of you and only recommend what you really need. They went out of their way to help me with my RV and I even had a problem with my scooter and they helped me where they could and got me on my way in just a short time. I'd use them again if I lived in this area, but was just passing through. read more

What a joke. Guy wanted $700 to travel and look at an air conditioner unit in carbondale at rv Park I was staying. RIP OFF!! All I can say.

The guy who runs this place is a complete ass hole. We set up an appointment a week in advanced, had our parts shipped to him and he casually told me to "come in around 9 or 10 then he'll call me when he's done with it" We showed up at 10:30 because we waited in line for 45 minutes at a dump station at our RV park. There is no cell signal in Carbondale to call him and my kids are screaming in the car ready to get out. We were in town for ONE day on our trip bc he was the only person with availability along our route. He refused to service my rv because we were "late" even though it said to come in around that time. I honestly think this guy was just in a piss poor mood that morning and it became a power struggle because it made no sense that he couldn't fix it. I'm sure it's annoying when people are late and we apologized for that but this guy told me to come in AROUND that time. He never said to be there exactly at 10. I would have skipped the dump station line at my RV park if had known that he was going to refuse helping me. It makes no sense that he couldn't work on my rv later in the day since he had moved on to something else. read more

I liked Matt but he didn't fix my problem. He called to ask a location of a module that controlled my slide out. I thought it was in obvious. Did not fix. I also asked him to diagnose ac problem. He charged over one hundred dollars to look at it. No further action or solution. So, for the day, he didn't fix anything and charged $1200. read more

I must have caught these guys on an off day, because I had a completely different experience than everyone else. I even picked these guys because of their great Yelp reviews and got burned! Their website says they open at 8, so I showed up right around 8. I waited almost two hours for someone. I knocked on the door-no answer, locked, you could hear people inside, music on, dog barking. I called the phone number, no answer. I finally got someone on the phone and he was so incredibly rude that I decided to leave. He told me that he won't be there until 11 today, there is nothing he can do to help me (meanwhile I can hear him through the shop door talking to me on the phone, telling me he isn't there...) and that my only options are to drive to Denver or Junction! I told him my RV smelled like gasoline and driving it to Junction didn't seem safe. He did not care and just repeated himself. I ended up just up the street/hill at a mechanic called Miguel's Automotive. If your RV problems are mechanical or chassis related (Or if you show up at Aspen RV and nobody is there...), I would skip Aspen RV and go straight to Miguel. He didn't even bat an eyelash when I rolled into his tiny yard with my 25 foot Class C-just started crawling around underneath it inspecting the gas lines. He pulled the entire interior engine cover off and messed around with the fuel regulator and carburetor and got me all fixed up and back on the road in an hour. I'm pretty bummed that Aspen RV didn't live up to previous posters expectations. I have an old Class C and I would have spent a lot of money there over the next couple months as I get it ready to go South for the winter! But, now I have a new mechanic named Miguel, so I guess it all worked out for the best. read more

First class all the way! Mathew and Anthony beyond served and impressed me. I have a "Classsic" Class C and I am newbie. After 2 different mechanics, 1 HGTV Tiny Home Builder a Skilled Handiman and several friends later-I found Matt and Tony. Since I bought this RV, I have been shootin from the hip and paying mechanics. Matt and Tony helped me organized what were priorities and in what timeline they needed to happen to be efficient. An example is I was all gun hoe about my solar set up but I had other issues that needed to be addressed first. The reason I found Aspen RV is because of this Solar System-my electrician was a few weeks out, along with the Corporate RV places in Denver. Had I used another solar installer before I found Matt and Tony, they would have charged me for the system and installed it, not addressing other concerns. Matt and Tony cared enough to look at my rig and asked where I was going and how I was going to use my RV. They saw I had other issues and suggested I put the solar on the back burner, address some other mechanics, learn and feel out my rig a bit then install a solar system when I have a better idea of my needs. They could have taken my money and installed the solar system I had already bought. Instead they helped educate and guide me towards a successful RV experience. So with that they earned my trust-which is huge with mechanics! Also, when I scheduled my apt. At 11am they were expecting me at 11, they said they would be done the following afternoon. I received a phone call the following morning. Again I was impressed with scheduling and follow through. I scheduled another appointment to install an appliance. Again. 100% accuracy with timing. Which was crucial because I was living out my RV so hotel, dogs, etc needed to be coordinated. Then I had a brake issue resurfaced (I had already paid a mechanic to replace the entire system, just 2 months prior) and I was stuck on the road near Aspen RV's . I called them and Tony came to investigate roadside!!! My rig needed to be lifted up and it was Friday evening. I was considering towing it 130 miles to the shop that had replaced the master cylinder and front brake system. And new I would be arguing with them to warranty their work. It had been 2 months and it was gamble if they would warranty, so would I be paying these guys to re do their own work? I decided to stick with the guys who have been shooting me straight and seem to know all things mechanics-Matt and Tony. Again, we scheduled and they delivered. Repeatedly Matthew and Anthony earned my trust, delivered exceptional work, and thouroughly explained and educated what was being done and my options. I have left their shop now, several times and have felt very good about the money I invested in my rig VS. leaving other shops feeling kinda ripped off & knowing I won't be back there. I just can not express enough my gratitude. It feels so good to have found "my guys". I will definitely be having Mathew and Anthony install my solar this spring! Thanks Heaps Gentlemen!!! read more

This RV repair facility is excellent; was passing through From Wash to Austin Tx, and my coach electrical power failed....total shutdown. Started calling RV repair shops I googled; Aspen RV gave me an appt for later in the day; they accuratey diagnosed the problem, showed me the fault and repaired it; reasonable cost; friendly folks; great tech! Being the only RV shop in the valley, I wish I had better things to say about them. Unfortunately I will not be going back there. I explained the problems I was experiencing and was told they'd call me with estimates. Never got the call until $750 dollars of DIAGNOSIS had been done on a simple fuel problem. When i asked about it he instantly got defensive and told me that RVs are like BOATs for which you have to Bust Out Another Thousand. (This is also aside from the fact that the problem didn't get solved in that $750 repair bill). I really feel like I was reamed by these guys just in the cost of labor alone. He also diagnosed my fridge as having one problem then when that wasn't the solution, authorized himself to fix the actual problem and charge me for all of it (half of which I didn't need). Then I was quoted $3500 on a solar set-up and ended up getting twice as powerful a system for $1200 elsewhere. If I was rich I'd love to support the little guy. Sorry, Matt. read more

I could not agree more with Seth F's comments. Matt and Tony are nothing more than Price Gougers who prey on "travelers", first with the implication that they are in Aspen. Their shop is over an hours drive from Aspen and also in different counties. I needed the brakes replaced on a travel trailer. They "claimed" that the parts were unusual and difficult to obtain, which was a lie. They are Standard, Dexter 2"x12", brakes. So the best they could offer was to remove only 3 brakes and pack 3 wheel bearings to get me back on the road. Here's the real kicker: Matt charged me $315.61 per wheel, demanding a Total of $946.83!! I have not found another shop in Colorado that would charge more $50 per wheel (Total=$150) for such a simple task that Matt claimed took he and Tony, 4 hours to complete. Then, he charged me for 6 hours of "shop time" at an astounding $149.00/hr rate. Please be careful to Stay Away from Aspen RVs so they do not Rip You Off and try to ruin your vacation!! My husband had broken the plug for the hot water heater on our 18 foot travel trailer. Aspen RV had the parts to fix it and took care of us on the spot. We were able to enjoy our four day camping trip with hot water. read more

Was in Glenwood for the day passing thru and developed a leak on my Class A hot water bypass line. Called Aspen RV they got me in right away and got it fixed with a 1/2 hour. Very reasonable on pricing and would recommend to anyone. read more
