Don't trust these people. Recently we brought our car here for emissions testing and a safety inspection. We were told our car failed the inspection due to tires and steering mechanism. Besides new tires they said we needed ball joints, struts, tie rods, sway bar links, bushings, trailing arms. We left without doing the work since our car ran fine. We brought it to another garage for tires which we did need and asked for them to inspect steering. They did not see anything wrong with any of the other recommended repairs and said we were scammed. Just to be sure we brought the car to our local Chevy dealer and gave them the list from Duke's. We were told that there's absolutely nothing wrong with our car! Beware if they fail your safety inspection and want to do repairs. read more

Just so you know, this company does not offer complimentary tire rotation with the purchase of your tires. Also, keep an eye out for any maintenance suggestions when you get your tires put on. Service was slow and I did not appreciate the effort to upsell additional services. Appointment 4 replacement tires for my 2019 Honda CRV at 2:00 and was offered my annual safety inspection ( generally 15 min at any other NC mechanic).Seemed like a good idea so I gave the go-ahead. Given a ballpark estimate of 1.5 hrs. It was after 4:00 that I was approached and showed a dirty air filter (72.00!) and when I declined was given a printout of the recommended services that topped $500.00! More air filters, wiper blades ($78), etc. Finally got the car at 4:30. Seems really scammy. read more

After vacationing in Carolina Beach, we were headed back to the DC Metro area, in the pouring rain, when we ran over nails in the road outside Wilmington. I brought my car in for a routine check up, but it was pointed out to me that I would need new tires soon. I went ahead and bought a new set, but I got quite a bargain in the process. The owner, Chad gave me an alignment and balanced the tires to include a package to save me money. ( I was also given a rebate for the tires.) I waited in this very nice lounge while having coffee and biscotti. Took me in same day for a set of four tires for my suv. Gave me three tires/prices to choose from with no negotiation. All the bays were occupied, so they had the vehicle on jacks in front of the garage and changed them that way. All together and after selling me on the $20 per tire nation wide road hazard warranty, it was about $1000 for four balanced and aligned tires. My wife needed new tires on her vehicle so I decided to give Duke's a try. Man, am I glad that I did. They were less expensive than other places and the service was great. When I went in, Tracey gave me printed quotes on 4 different tires. Obviously, they had the lowest price. The customer service was outstanding and they have a very nice waiting room, free coffee and popcorn and you can practice your putting while you are there. I took my 2015 Ram truck in to Duke's Tire Pros for a tire rotation. They have always been the best when dealing with anything that has to do with tires. I trusted them as my truck has a large lift with oversize tires. The tires only had 3,000 miles on them, so they were nearly brand new. When I got my truck back I noticed there were large chunks missing from the front passenger side tire. The technician had severely damaged the tire and had not said anything to me about it. I contacted the store attempting to get in touch with a manager or the owner. I was given the run around and finally spoke to Tracey 7 days later. I brought the truck back to the shop for her to look at the truck. Tracey said she would look into what she could do and would contact me the next day. She said she wanted to make the customer happy. Well, there was no contact from Tracey the next day, and when I finally heard back from her she said that she decided not to help in any way! The frustrating part of this whole ordeal is all of the time that I wasted. If she wasn't going to help me then she should have just said so up front. I feel as if she just strung it along hoping that the problem would go away. Well, I own and run a small business in Wilmington and this is the exact opposite of how you should treat your customers. If there is an issue with a customer, address it immediately and attempt to rectify the mistake. That is how business should be run in my opinion. Apparently Duke's Tire Pros does not agree. I am leaving this review so that others can how this business is run and no one else is treated in this manner. I am leaving one star, and I would leave less if I could. So I recently have bought 3 new tires for my vehicle and looking back, I feel like I was being taken advantage of... so out I went in search of a new place to get my tires serviced and let me tell you, I'll be using Dukes moving forward. They were amazing from start to finish. They were straight forward with their answers, gave me heads up about things that would need to be done soon (i.e oil change, inspection), and were able to plug my tire instead of making up BS to not fix it and make me buy a whole new tire. They were affordable when it came to plugging my tire, they have a very spacious waiting area, and the staff was friendly. They even had Bella the dog as an additional greeter! There's a locally owned tire store closer to home, but if I've got the time I'm driving to Duke's for my work. Customer service was great over the phone when I scheduled the appointment, and it continued when I arrived for service. They did a great job aligning my CTS-V, and had one of the nicest waiting rooms I've ever seen outside of a BMW dealership. As a parent I loved that they had the foresight to have a smaller, yet nicely appointed secluded area to contain kids and their noise. Great job everyone! read more

These people flat out lied to me. Told me that there was a $150 rebate for a set of Continental Tires. Sounds good. So I bought 4 new tires. A month later my "REBATE" arrives. Great I'll put this towards the cost of the tires. NOPE. You can't get the cash off of this "GIFT CARD". Was it $150 like I was told??? NOPE, it was only $100 GIFT CARD. Duke's Tire Pros uses deceptive practices to try to sell unneeded services. I am new in town and recently took my car there on a neighbor's recommendation. AAA said I needed a new starter. Duke's replaced it and said I needed a new battery also. Assuming they were honest, I had that replaced too (at a high price.) They also had a list of other things that they said required service. One was that the brakes needed to be cleaned and adjusted. I questioned that and declined as less than a month earlier I had replaced all 4 disks and pads. The customer service woman said I didn't have disk brakes; I had drum brakes. The technician said that when he spun the drum, too many revolutions occurred. I took the car back to Midas where my brakes had been done and they showed me my new disks and pads--no drums! Back to Duke's where the technician was very dismissive and said he assumed they were drum brakes and assumed they needed to be cleaned and adjusted (and lied about testing them.) I also now question whether I really needed the new battery. The assistant manager apologized and volunteered to refund the cost of the battery but he did not--another lie. I'm always concerned at auto service places because not knowing much about cars I feel susceptible to being ripped off and just have to trust the mechanic and Duke's Tire Pros is NOT trustworthy. Take your business elsewhere. Subsequent to this review the manager made good on his offer to refund the cost of my battery. He was very understanding of what I had experienced and very apologetic. I also received an apology from the technician. The manager said that that was not their business practice but that everything that could have gone wrong that day did go wrong which I agree with. read more

I went there this morning for tires that I received a quote on the day before and was given very prompt and courteous service. It was suggested that I rebuild my tire pressure sensors in the valve stems and when I refused was not pressured into anything. They offered coffee and a nice place to sit. After a few minutes watching TV I went outside to watch the techs work on my car and they we're finishing up the last tire. They pulled it into another bay and checked my alignment and then washed the blue off the lettering on the tires!!! Nobody ever did that before!!! I went in and paid and was home an hour after I left. They did a great job and charged what they quoted me. It's nice to get that kind of service nowadays I'll be back!!! read more

I needed all new tires and after moving to another area of town, I wanted to find something closer to me. I Googled tires and Dukes popped up with great reviews so figured I would give it a go and I am very happy I did. Its a very nice location. Very clean, modern and put together. The staff is incredibly helpful, professional and friendly. I had Miles help me and he was fantastic. I got new tires and a bunch of other services done. I asked how long it would take, they said 2 hours and they were right on the money. It was 2 hours to the minute. I didn't mind waiting as they have an absolutely huge TV in one of the waiting rooms (there are numerous areas to wait), free Wifi, a Wii system, a popcorn machine and even putt putt! They have a children's room with its own TV too. Pricing is very good and one of the biggest bonuses was getting free roadside assistant just for doing business with them. I bought four new tires and got an alignment from duke about a month and half ago. A few weeks ago I started feeling vibrations from one of my tires, I figured that one of the weights from the alignment just busted off. I called duke and brought in my vehicle. They said that one of my lug nuts busted off and asked me to pay $179 to fix it! Nobody touched the tire since they had worked on it, but they refused to take responsibility. I ended up negotiating the cost down to $80, but I shouldn't of had to pay for one of their employees over torquing! read more

Purchased set of 4 new tires and am very pleased with them and the deal I got. Being very satisfied with my tire purchase and another minor repair performed by Dukes; I hired them to repair the same vehicle's a/c. I am extremely disappointed, and completely dissatisfied with the service and support provided by Dukes. I had the A/C compressor replaced in Baltimore in May. After moving to Wilmington the a/c stopped working. I spent approx. $2,000 on two visits to have Dukes fix my a/c. After replacing the evaporator that Dukes advised was bad (and the heater core that Dukes recommended be changed as a precautionary measure) ), the a/c still did not work. Dukes said that the compressor (that was installed 6 months ago) was bad. After Dukes replaced the compressor (and supporting parts) again, my a/c still did not work; and Dukes washed their hands of the repair. Dukes advised they didn't know what was wrong with the a/c; and suggested it be taken to a Jeep dealership. Although not 100% sure, the dealership strongly believed that Dukes either did not install the evaporator properly, or that they did not reassemble my vehicle correctly (blend doors). Dukes did not repair the air conditioning as hired to do, nor did they issue any refund or credit when the a/c didn't work. They did however offer to split the cost (an additional several hundred dollars) to take apart my dash again to investigate further with no guarantee that the a/c would be fixed after that. I wholeheartedly believe that Dukes did not operate in good faith, nor did they standby their committment to fix my a/c, nor did they stand-by their diagnosis and repairs. In my opinion, the way Dukes handled this repair was wrong, their actions are not representative of a good company to do business with, and they deserve have a law suit brought against them for wrong-doing. read more

I have used this company several times in the past and have received bad customer service from the ladies at the front desk. This location has never had very friendly staff but the most recent visit was the worst. Missy was alright on the phone when I called to see if the correct tires were in stock for my car. When I arrived she was not available so the other receptionist had to help me. Neither were very friendly or welcoming. I work in customer service and I always thought it was customary to greet people upon coming in the door. The only person to greet me was a mechanic that was passing by. After checking in and turning in my keys I was not given any sort of wait time so I figured it would not take long. I ended up waiting for 2 hours. Also on various occasions I was never informed by anyone when my car was finished being worked on. I sat there for an extra 20 to 30 min while my car was sitting back on the lot ready to go. This is inexcusable to happen and a complete waste of my time. When I went to check and see if my car was ready the same receptionist who checked me in was making a personal phone call and made me wait for her to finish her conversation before acknowledging me. When she was finally finished with her call she made me feel as if I was inconveniencing her by needing to pay. I will never be going to this facility again. They do not make me feel like they want or care to have my business. The only good thing I really liked about them was their prices, but I'd rather spend a little more elsewhere and feel like I am welcome and my business is appreciated. read more
