4.5 Stars! We decided on Assaggio Ristorante for a Feb 2026 date night as it is one of the only Italian spots in Belltown we have yet to try. I didnt love the curb-appeal of this place from the street view, but once you walk in, it feels very cozy and warm, and i could even imagine some italian Nonnas rolling out pasta in the back. We started with drinks - the typical negroni for me and the girlfriend went with their Mauro option, which I believe is named after the original owner. My negroni was exactly what I was hoping for, but I honestly think the Mauro was better! Slight drink envy - no notes! Went we go to Itailan spots like this, we love getting an app or two, then splitting a pasta and pizza. We had to try their caprese salad as it is one of our favorites. They kept it simple which is always ideal with caprese - wide cut tomatos, single basil leaf on each, a touch of balsalmic/EVOO, and a thicccck slice of their buffalo mozzarella. The only issue i had was not enough balsamic - I love a heavy acid to cut through the EVOO and buffalo mozzarella. Their balsamic seemed to be reduced which is nice, but not enough 'bite' in my option. For mains, we split their Salsiccia Pizza and the Pappardelle. The pizza was great with one caveat - their marinara and sausage were super simple and super flavorful. My only issue was with the CRUST - not good at all, super soggy and did not hold up against gravity. For the Pappardelle, after mispronoucning this dish, i basically inhaled it. Wild boar for the protein and the pasta was clearly made in house. The kapers and kalamata olives really made this dish - brought out some brine-y brightness that balanced out the tomato based sauce perfectly. Our server was the epitomy of perfect - unobtrusive yet very aware when we needed something. I dont recall her name, but her photo is in other posts below! We just ate here tonight. I had the pasta special that was a ricotta and butternut squash filling with a crispy sage addition... and my husband had the chicken special. I also had the Blood orange Cosmopolitan... a half size Francesca salad and the special Ricotta pistachio cake. This was, I think the best meal I have ever had. I savored every bite. The cosmopolitan was served beautifully in a cut crystal's coupe. Overall, the ambiance, friendliness, amazing food and special touches made for a memorable and relaxing dinner on a rare treat back to the city that used to live in and I have loved for decades. read more

Staff was excellent. Bartender was knowledgeable about Amaro. Risotto was exceptional. Easily the best dish. They tried to make a Bigoli Salsa dish for me with Anchovy paste. Wasn't quite right but they tried was great. The Desserts were so good! Nice place! read more

10/10. This, my friends, is what we call a no-notes dinner. I have absolutely no critiques or criticisms. It was probably one of the best meals of my life. A Top 10 for sure. The service was attentive and warm. After a long day, I didn't want to make one other decision, so I asked my server, Antonio, to decide on a pasta for me. He asked one question, and took the rest from there. What he brought back was a dreamy pasta dish with clams, shrimp, and salmon in a tomato cream sauce. I absolutely demolished the plate and was legitimately bereft after I took my last bite. The dessert was a limoncello tartufo, also chosen by Antonio. It was creamy, tart, and a perfect way to end the meal. The portions of both dishes were perfection, the quality was perfection, the balance of flavors were perfection, the entire meal was perfection. I will definitely be back. read more

Unfortunately I was not a fan of this restaurant, but it was the only Italian restaurant that had availability for 5 for dinner. The service was slow, and the restaurant was cramped in the back (where we were seated). The food was not good --the pizza was limp, dry, and it felt like I was eating cardboard, and the lasagna was just okay (but how can you really mess up lasagna) but the portion was tiny. This is one of favorite spots for Italian lunch. We've been going for ages and I can't believe C we haven't v reviewed it before. :-) The place is so authentic. I feel like I'm back in Italy with the great pasta and the wines. This is a spot to savor and enjoy. We love the boar ragu. And it is great spot with nice outdoor dining for the summer and it's so cozy in the winter. It's a busy spot on 4th avenue so great if you are already in downtown or work nearby. Cute boutique style Italian restaurant in downtown Seattle. The restaurant is next to the Hotel Andra. It has a cute patio for dining as well as cozy indoor seating. The decor has a old school style with some interesting artwork that is a nod to Davinci. They do have weekly chef specials. I had the seafood chefs special pasta. It was linguine with clams and mussels, salmon and prawns. It had a lobster cream sauce on top of it. It was one of the best seafood pastas I have ever had in my life. The salmon basically melted in your mouth. I ate every last bite. The menu does offer signature cocktails, as well as wine. It was definitely our favorite meal in Seattle. read more

The salmon was soft and flaky with a hint of lemon and garlic the mashed potatoes were buttery and amazing and the broccoli was well broccoli The ribs all the flavors came together very well and the meat is super tender and soft. The restaurant was small and compact with tables close together, although it was a nice ambiance. A nice Italian restaurant to try, especially for a nice occasion! I had their clam linguine and it was good, but not great. It was a bit too salty for me, and one of the clams tasted as if it wasn't cooked fresh... I had to spit out that clam. I had their penne vodka with added chicken and it was pretty good. Sauce was tasty and the pasta was cooked well. We also had their fried calamari appetizer which was pretty good! It was crispy, tasty, and fresh! The service definitely could've been better. Our server wasn't attentive and interactive. It took awhile for us to get served. When we got our dessert menu, the server placed the menu at our table without saying anything and left. The place can be pricey, so just a heads up on that. The ambiance is great. I really liked how it was organized and decorated. There was nice art on the walls and on the ceiling. Tuscan wine was OK but the Margarita pizza I ordered was definately a bit over baked where the center of pizza was OK but the outer crust was over baked and too dry where it had the texture of a cracker. A lovely spot for Italian food, perfect for a special occasion. The clam linguine was decent but a bit too salty, and one clam didn't taste fresh. The penne vodka with chicken, however, was delicious -- flavorful sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The fried calamari appetizer was crispy, fresh, and tasty. The place has a nice traditional Italian atmosphere although seating is a bit tight. Service was fine, but nothing special. Tramonta cocktail is a little too tart after being described by waiter as a sweet cocktail. I'm a Carpaccio fan, but theirs has a few too many conflicting flavors for me. For my main I chose the Pica Carbonara because I Love carbonara. It was good, but a bit salty and needed quite a bit of extra Parmesan and pepper. read more

Came here on a weeknight as part of our summer trip to Seattle. It's a really busy place so I would recommend reserving in advance. The first thing which I have to eat -is the basic - bread with olive oil and this place was spot on! The bread was warm and the olive oil dip was delicious with soft green olives and roasted garlic - are you drooling yet? We also got the bruschetta and then ordered a pepperoni pizza for the kids. They scarfed the whole thing down - and didn't leave the crust (like they usually do) My son's comment - this is the best pizza we've ever had! We had to let the owner know! :-) I ordered the pasta with Italian sausage, pine nuts, saffron creme and arugula - the portion size is quite large and I could only eat 1/4th of it...but boy was it good! We came here for Valentine's Day and left underwhelmed. Service was very slow, and when our server finally came around, he made comments on our order, saying he didn't like the wine we chose. It was off-putting. We ordered the bread service, rigatoni, gemelli, and ended with tiramisu. My boyfriend really liked his rigatoni, but my gemelli was quite salty...so much so that I couldn't finish it. While the bread service was nothing to write home about, the tiramisu was delish. The atmosphere is authentic with appropriate mood lighting. Tables are placed close together, though, so get ready to make friends with the nearby tables. We had previously come here for drinks in 2019, so we're excited to try the dining experience out, but all in all, it wasn't worth it. read more

Went to see a show and since this place had good reviews we decided to try it. OH MY GOSH, it was so delicious!! We were sat at the bar, the service was really fast. The bartender was very kind and helpful in answering our questions. Both dishes we order were phenomenal, I got the Orecchiette and my friend ordered the ravioli in this delicious mushroom sauce. Will be returning most definitely, the restaurant has such a welcoming vibe and good service. I will note it would be smart to make reservations. I looked beforehand and there were many open "reservation spots" so we thought a walk in would be fine. However, they were almost full up an hour into being open and they kindly sat us at the bar. read more

This is my absolute favorite Italian spot in Seattle. It's incredibly authentic and has that classic East Coast Italian feel. While it leans more toward fine dining, it's the perfect place for a date night. The staff is amazing, they don't even write down your order, yet they remember which I always think is such a fun touch. The food is outstanding. The gnocchi and vodka sauce are my personal favorites, but the servers always have great recommendations if you're unsure. Definitely make a reservation because they fill up fast, and the tables are pretty close together, so be prepared for a lively atmosphere. One of the best things about Asiago is the off-menu pasta sampler, where you can pick three different pastas for your meal. I get it every time, it's the best way to try a little of everything, and the portions are generous. Easily the best bang for your buck. Highly recommend! read more

Went here with my family for dinner and we had a great time! Service is really good -- super friendly staff and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is really cozy and decorated nicely with Renaissance paintings. We walked in on a Wed at 7pm and had no trouble getting a table for 4 right away. The menu ingredients are quite wine heavy which I found interesting. We ordered the 3 chef specials: the salmon, tortellini, and risotto. All were fantastic! The salmon was crispy on the edges and really tender on the inside. The side mashed potatoes had mango chunks in it which I thought was really interesting and a surprisingly delicious combination! Tortellini was a table favorite; it was cooked in a nice tomato sauce and the sausage was really flavorful. The risotto was packed with seafood and had a nice light sauce; it was almost like rice. I went to italy recently and all the flavors were on par with what I had abroad :) The only dish we didn't like was the mushroom ravioli, which had too strong of a wine flavor for us. We ordered the zeppole for dessert and it was pretty good as well -- texture was almost like a dense beignet, and it went well with the sweet mascarpone. I made a reservation on OpenTable, about a week before our visit and I'm so glad I did. When we arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was packed (almost completely full) and the vibe was lively with lots of friends, families, and couples dining together. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the host and given the option of a quieter table or a louder one, lol. We chose the louder one which was in the main dining room (located furthest from the bar) and it was definitely loud. The tables are small are close together providing an intimate dining experience but also preventing you from having a private conversation or ordering too much! We started with an order of the meatballs which comes with 3 medium to smallish meatballs, then we got the Cesar salad (hearty portions) and pasta, the carbonara (which was super salty) and the fusilli with Italian meatballs, which was incredible, easily the highlight of the meal! Service was kind and attentive (our waters were refilled consistently which we appreciate)! And the restaurant was located right next door to our hotel so it was super convenient. :) read more

A very nice place with excellent service. Our food was the Cesare Salad, Lasagna and Cinghiale Pappardelle. All very good and we enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. The salad was lacking in in a flavorful Caesar dressing but the Lasagna was excellent for the sauce and just the right amount of cheese, the Pappardelle wild boar was tender and great flavor as was the wide pasta. Outside of the salad there was no bread which should always be an accent to such great dishes. It's very good however and excellent service. read more

The bread and garlic olive oil and the mussels and clams were great too. We tried the YOLO and the It's About Time. Both of those were really good too and I didn't have a single complaint or critique on any of the food. Very tasty! Service - it was impeccable. Our water glasses were never empty. Our plates were bussed very quickly. The server checked in and made great recommendations without bothering at all. He also suggested the half and half option!
