Not professional in Hawaii nor in Richardson, Texas (Dallas, Headquarters) with Associa with Executive Assistant Anne Brumbalow who has threatened to put a Lien on my Hawaii house for eight months now with HCRC (Hawaii Civil Rights Commission) investigating my allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. This Charge under Investigation by HCRC for Associa/HOA for the incompetence of the "Property Managers" most don't have their license and are not following FHA Laws for giving me "fines" for a "Disturbance of the Peace" (criminal not HOA fine) in a medical emergency when I took an ambulance to Kona Community Hospital on March 10th, 2021 and the Police Report shows assistance was given by the Officer. I am 100% disabled from my Gov't job retired from DC, my parents were born in Central America , a widow age 61 almost. How shameful! The next "fine" was for taking two pictures out in public without permission" of two violators with no dog walking allowed per the CC&R's with no expectation of privacy like Pres. Jacoby's Ring Cameras with neither fine in the CC&R's with the "House Rules" that were fraudulent that changed the CC&R's without the affirmative vote of the 66 2/3% vote of the Owners of the Property using deceptive business practices and violating the FDCPA. I was given a "fine" for my old 12 year old Service dog (not allowed to walk in the subdivision with other dog owners allowed to walk their dogs) who went over the rainbow bridge humanely euthanized on Dec. 22nd outside of the property lines on County of Hawaii property with false allegations by the unlicensed Property Manager Karin Villaverde at the time of the "fines' who remotely "works" at home who breeds chocolate labs at her Waimea home who flies puppies back to Florida where I lived a 14 hour flight to make $$ $$ in her eyes and not do her job properly given a *Warning by R.I.C.O. in Honolulu, HI for not having her property license Active. Next, Associa puts the "Axx"in their name! They have no clue what property management is nor are the nine out of 10 Property Managers in Kailua Kona, Hawaii (as well as all the other islands) properly licensed a requirement for Hawaii State Law. Ass O Cia as I wrote to R.I.C.O. who regulates industries since Karin Villaverde's license was forfeited at the time of the "fines". Then Associa Hawaii/HOA altered the bylaws of the CC&R's with the "House Rules" which are now after my complaints were altered by adding two sentences. Then upon calling their Headquarters after Director Benjamin Willoughy blocked my online TownSq Account speaking to Executive Assistant Anne Brumbalow I contacted she has been threatening for eight months to place a Lien based on the fraudulent fines so hire another property management company while HCRC investigates the Charge for violating my Civil Rights for ADA under FHA. Steven Lee Johnson his partner in crime who moved out fast then Humane Society investigated but failed to notify the police to arrest the criminals for a Felony for Animal Cruelty so Humane Society is CLOSED with the Contract taken over now by Hawaii Police to do animal cruelty investigations. Our Home Owners association (HOA) hired them to manage Tall Grass in Naperville in January 2019. It has been a disaster to use them. The manager onsite is Claire. I am not sure about her last name. She is never in the office. We went to her office few times but she was not there. We called several times over a period of a week but no one returned our calls. It is either they have an incompetent employee or it is their culture to promise HOAs and never deliver. It is just another way to decrease their expenses and make more money. We have been to the pool this summer several times. we shared with Claire several times that most of the showers in the Men and Women area are not operational. It was an easy fix. Replacing the shower heads would have done the job; however, it was never fixed or replaced. I am hoping that they will be fixed in summer 2020. read more

The worst company I have ever worked with. My front door fell off in the appartment building, and I cannot install any other door, it has to match according to them, so I have no door at all. I called and emailed them to get specifications, after 3 days with no door at all they answer. Their answer has no specs only says I have to match others. They would respond every other day, so I still have no door at all. After a month, still no specs, just vendor info to company that doesn't exist, or doesn't respond. They only seem to have working phones when they need something from you. The Indianapolis group has yet to return countless phone calls from me regarding HOA issues, road maintenance/snow removal, etc. I called four days in a row about an issue, left 3 voicemails and the calls were never returned. Another instance was when I asked for a gutter extension because the neighborhood HOA placed the gutter spout RIGHT on my A/C unit. That was 6 months ago and they've still not put one on. I had to pay someone and take care of it myself because my brand new A/C unit was sinking from erosion. At first I thought they seemed to care about customer service when our neighborhood switched over but now I'm realizing that's not the case. Really disappointed. read more

I was finally able to speak a representative at Associa CMC about the sale of my house on 27 June 22 and subsequently about closing my Associa CMC account for my Dominion Valley Homeowners Association (DVOA) dues. I was told by "Jamie" that it would be 4-6 weeks in order for them to close the account. I asked about how I would receive notification of the closure and he stated there was "no" notification. I asked also about continued billing and he stated to just "ignore" the bills. I requested he annotate my file with a request for notification of account closure by either mail or email. I have very little confidence that I will be notified once the account is closed. This really seems that they are less than stellar when trying to exit Associa vice when you sign up and get the bills regularly with annual increases without fail. Thx Associa and DVOA. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. If I were on any condo board or purchasing a condo with this management company, I'd think twice. The management company neglects property maintenance. The pool at my property floods annually for example and they are unable to remind themselves every summer (surprise, it rains in Florida!) to do basic maintenance let along long-term repairs to prevent issues. They are unresponsive when you reach out to them and unfortunately, this is not limited to just the local office either. This applies to their corporate too. Bug in Chrome where you can't access your account... I called both corporate and local and sent an email. 3 weeks later, would you expect it to be fixed? I would. But, of course not. Associa is ruining my life in the Alturas Community in Placentia, CA. They do absolutely nothing to improve my life living in this association based community. All they do is cause me unneeded stress. They have implemented absolutely ridiculous parking regulations, which provide no where to park and towing as a constant fear. Our car was towed when parked in the appropriate area and they did not reimburse us despite wasting our time presenting at the association meeting. Associa Hill Country / Cedar Grove Associa manages or actually dictates what our neighborhood residents can do as our HOA property management. Because of their lack of attention to maintenance requests, the park play ground equipment is missing pieces, the walking paths have been washed away for months, the trash constantly overflows in the trash cans, the weeds have completely taken over the grass. It is just not a beautiful neighborhood to live in due to the areas Maintained by Associa. The Residents to a great job keeping their homes and lawns well maintained but many people are moving out because of the way Associa manages the HOA. read more

My account has been with their attorney for over a year for a missed payment which i have provided proof that it wasnt my fault that they attempted to cash my online banking check 3 months after they received it and claimed that my check was returned ( which it wasnt ) They have also stalled and are looking for all excuses to not approve my tenant so that eventually they can put a lien on my property. Associa do not take responsibility for their faults or mistakes. I have 3 properties in the same neighborhood. The first, I purchase 10 years ago, and other 2 purchased last year. I had same problem with all of them. The Associa end up sending my yearly fee to the Lawyer for collection, stating that they did not had my home address on file. Causing me extra lawyers fees, besides putting a lien on my property and threating me to take my homes to foreclosure, for not paying a $124.00 fee. What I really didn't get it, was, the same story happened when I bought the first house, 10 years ago, and than now, with the others 2 homes??? Same story??? Do they have some type of deal with the lawyer? That is the first thing that came across my mind. I wish other homeowners would be aware of it. Because, at this time, I Know 100%, that I had communicated, with the their office, i had called them because I had problem listing them without calling Associa, I had to send my tenants to purchase gate controls, and they had to take the copy of the lease with my name and address. How come, my tenants never received a bill from them either? So, its very strange. Since I got the first bill, already with the extra lawyer fee, I have been trying to contact them. The answer I got was " you have to pay it, even if your receive a bill or not! " Really??? Now, its my fault? No one answers my phone calls.They say once its on the hands of a lawyers i need to talk only with a lawyer. Now, the lawyers told me to find a representation in order to talk to them. Well, my conclusion is :1. I did not got the original bills ; 2. I bought 3 home and I had the same problem with the extra fees; 3. I have proof of returned envelope from Associa to my home, so therefore they did had my address, consequently they are lying and they are messy, or 100% normal to get money through a "different" funny way from the homeowners" ; 4. I deffinelly do not trust either the Associa, or the lawyers; 5. The community is quiet until now about this, which I am also trying to communicate with them. Something is really not correct. The WORST. They are criminal. I sold my unit at the end of June. The day it recorded, I called to confirm that I no longer owned my condo. On July 11 they automatically took the maintenance fees out of my account. When I called, I was assured that they had already noted the problem and would send me a paper check in three weeks. I have been a resident at Monument Square in Richmond, VA for 3 years and have been extremely pleased with the service Associa (specifically Mary Singer) has provided. Mary has been an asset to Monument Square with her problem solving, attention to detail, eagerness to keep MS in tip top shape, and her ability to keep things running efficiently at MS. Mary does a wonderful job of working with the vendors to keep costs down and at the same time getting quality work. Kudos to Mary Singer for helping to make MS a great place to live! read more

two years four property managers, none is good...there is no direct way to complain about issues to the company as a non-board owner. They make the simple daily tasks extremely difficult. This time I am trying to reserve elevator at the end of this month for over a week. knowing how slow they respond, i communicated a month ahead. Initiated auto-debit when associa levied (unfairly) a late fee for an auto-check delayed in the mail during a winter storm. Fast forward, and a refund that associa agrees is due is currently delayed by more than two months. Phone calls have produced a run-around. read more

Sadly, I cant get assistance from Mangers located at Mueller. We have had three different managers in the last couple of years- each one has been too busy to return calls or just flat out rude. They will not address violations, take responsibility for errors of their own making, and they refuse to communicate. I saw a flyer for Associa On Call that stated they did concrete repair. I contacted them with information specific as to the concrete repairs I needed done and asked if this is something they did. The response I received was that I would need to submit a request, with money, before they would even tell me if they performed this type of work. While this left me perplexed, the response told me a lot about this company and the people they hire. So grateful I won't be hiring them to perform any work in the future. read more

They NEVER answer the phone, and I mean NEVER! Try right now. See if you get a human being to answer the phone. Their website is very confusing. I've got messages replied to 4 days later and then a link to a form which was not accessible. I finally called to complain. In the meantime while I'm waiting for a call back I realize I can access the form via my iPhone but not my home computer, I even sent screen shots of my computer showing the response. No answer from them again. So my print the form from my iPhone and fill it out and email it in, but once again no response. A lady from Associa leaves a message, doesn't leave her name but says this is Associa. This call back was from my original complaint and she basically gives me a list of information which I need which was not mentioned on the FORM! I wish they would get their act together. Associa is really a management company that takes your money and does not provide any customer service. I think they never call you back because they are overwhelmed by all the properties they manage. I couldn't even find out my board member's name, so I could complain about Associa. I think they offer cheap services and these cheap builders or HOA's think they are getting a deal but are not. It's really sad that the residents actually pay for this lack of service through our dues. Terrible, terrible company with which to do business! As a home owner of a rental property Associa was hired by our HOA board. I am in the process of selling my rental(which was my primary residence for 11 years and a rental for the last 18 months). I requested Meeting minutes and budget for HOA as per my purchasers request in the contract. Associa wanted to charge me $150.00 for 2 pieces of paper. In addition after appraisal the title company wanted to set up transfer of Documents to new owners (which is normally done in closing) Associa made me pay $180.00 to cover this cost again which is normally done at closing. In my opinion Associa is an extortion ring I would advise not using them if you are looking for a property management company. read more

I would avoid purchasing or renting a property through associa if I were you. I purchased my home in 2015 and before moving in I advised them that my lawn was all dirt and asked them to have the company that takes care of the grass cutting to take a look at it. They advised me over the phone that they would have this looked into but never did. I have called at least 4 times and still nothing 3 years later. I went to the board meeting and they advised the landscaper ran off with their money and they had just hired a new guy-- I still haven't received any sodding or seeding for my bald lawn (LOL) That's not the biggest issue I have with them. They acquired new parking rules in 2016 out of no where. We apparently have to suffer for the bad ones... they don't allow overnight parking in your driveway unless the car is deeded to you. That means if your parents or anyone else decides to stay overnight if its over 10 times a year you have to pay for them to be able to park in your driveway. For me this is especially difficult seeing how my children's father comes to my home to get the kids ready for school whenever I have to work nights. I have asked them if they could make an exception so I don't have to pay per day that he parks and they said sure we can help just provide a background check for him every year. I am not paying 50 bucks a year to have someone park in my driveway when I already pay TWO that's right, TWO association fees with Associa. Dealing with the local staff is awful, its almost as if they purposely try to ruin your experience. It took me 3 years to get up to the point of leaving this review, I have tried everything I could to rectify this without publicly shaming them in any kind of way. Dallas seems to be the headquarters for this property management company. Certified Hawaii states on their webpage that they are associated with Associa. The manager of Certified allows a junk yard/towing business to operate in our condo complex--Ihona in Waipahu. He has been aware of it for over a year and does nothing about it.
