It's taken me a few weeks to post a review and with mixed feelings based on my most recent experience. I've taken both my 2013 Kia and 2007 Accord to AAS, I've been happy with service for about a year now, returned every time for maintenance and repairs. This last experience has me beyond frustrated and disappointed. My kia needs axel and transmissions service, both repairs i planned to do on my next pay day. I took Kia in for regular oil changed was reminded of the need to replace axel and transmissions fluid flush. Was informed by Danny that my Kia is in great condition not burning oil and it's a good car. The very next day I see a small leak on drivers side, Danny asked if I noticed my axel leaking which I had not. I park my car in my carport I would 100% notice ANY leak. As days continued the leak increased, I then checked what type of leak it was and to my shock it was fresh oil...lots of it. I returned immediately after and requested they check what caused the oil leak, perhaps the wrong filter? Something is not tighten correctly or filter not set correctly. Never has my car leaked oil and now oil is gushing out. The car was lifted and cleaned and the feedback I received was it was coincidental and it was the rear main engine seal and would cost 1400 for repairs!! I am still in shock, disbelief and frustrated. I spoke to mechanics and all have said something went wrong during the oil change. Unfortunately Kia dealer is so backed up with there diagnostics they don't have availability till a month out to even get an appointment! I find it hard to believe that a car with no oil leaks gets an oil change and now gushes oil and that it was a coincidence. The right thing to do would have been to split the cost on repairs which would have been the 700 which I could have invested on the axel and trans svc...now I am left with a decision to sell or fix read more

Another update on Associated, last was in 2019. Unfortunately Steve Passed away. He was a great automotive repair shop owner. He developed a great staff that has continued to honor his legacy thru great customer service, fairness in pricing, great diagnostic and repair work. My hat is off to Moises for really doing a great job under I suspect a hard time. Craig, and now Danny also continue in this legacy. Whenever I have a simple question or automotive problem, they are always there for a correct answer or suggestion. You cannot go wrong with this great automotive repair shop. read more

I always go to Associated Automotive Service (AAS) when my mechanic can not figure out a problem with my car. In the last two years there were two problems, and without fail AAS figures out the problem and fixes my car. All the workers are very respectful and informative. They take the time to answer my questions and explain my car in a way I can understand. They are also excellent communicators. They tell me when they expect to get the diagnosis completed. And they tell me when they will get the work completed after finding the actual problem. I only wish they would have a shop in Pasadena area so I could take my car to the all the time. If you're not sure who to go to, stop looking and take your car to AAS. read more

I was having one heck of an issue trying to track down a short circuit on my older 4Runner. Having already spent a few days trying to hunt the problem down, I just didn't have the time nor the patience anymore. So I entrusted my vehicle to the stand-up guys over at Associated. I was NOT disappointed. Called in, they told me to give them the day with it and they'd figure it out. After dropping it off, I got a couple updates throughout the day. One of those calls was the miraculous news that they found the problem. Low and behold by the days end I was picking my truck up with a big smile on my face. Issue Resolved. While monkeying around my radiator on my old mustang, I busted a portion of which started leaking pretty badly. Seeing as it's my daily driver, I needed it for work and I didn't have many quick options (parts for a classic aren't usually in stock and/or take at least a couple of days to ship) so I started looking around local shops to help. Associated Automotive helped me out and got me back on the road over the course of the weekend. Their repair work was top notch, and even took the time to replace my hoses. I can tell their techs take care of the cars they device because they also listed other areas that could be worked on in the future (which is never-ending if you have an oldie). Firstly, I'm not a car guy. I trust Associated Automotive Service with my vehicles' maintenance and repairs. They tell you what needs to be done, and that's what they do. Nothing underhanded, and they always check with you before fixing something that may have come up unexpectedly. Once my S10 pickup blew an engine coming over Kellogg Hill in San Dimas. I had it towed to Associated. They told me how much it would cost for a new engine - more than I could handle. More than the truck was worth if it were running. I told them I would have to think about what I would do. They let me leave the truck there for a few days, and didn't charge me. (I ended up paying somebody else to put in a salvage engine, then sold the truck.) Trust me. These are good people. read more

Good fast service BUT the tech tried to run me through the standard bs. It would be fine if he suggested the regular maintainence, but he told me I NEEDED a new engine air filter, and that my trans oil looked dirty/burnt. There is no trans dipstick on my car to check that, and the engine air filter is basically new. It's normal for a mechanic to suggest these things as typical wear items, but this was not a suggestion, these were lies. I don't know why the tech would do this unless they were making commission or were instructed to do this by the manager. read more

This place was a complete waste of time was told to bring my truck in early friday so they can work on it. I told them what my OBD2 scanner had told me as far as what was wrong with my truck. They confirmed that is what the trouble code was. They told me they needed to keep it for another day to make sure that was the problem. 4 days later no movement on my car still in the same spot. From minor to major repairs, I have been very satisfied with their services. I especially appreciate getting an explanation of what is going on with my car. This summer, while out of town, my A/C went out. after spending $300 to replace a part that ultimate did not fix the problem, i was told my compressor needed to be replaced, i decided to wait until back in town and have associated auto repair have a look. After running the vehicle through diagnostics tests, Craig took time in explaining what was wrong with my A/C, which now runs as good as when I first bought my car. I recently dropped off my car for an oil change and front brakes, I asked Moises, who was helping me if they did smog checks, which they don't. He offered to take my vehicle to have it smog checked which I'm glad he did, because prior to having it tested Moises found out a fuse had gone out, that would have been a problem with the vehicle communicating with the smog equipment. My '94 Previa's air conditioner was blowing ( not so cold air ) I had used associated a few times before with great results so I decided to have them take a look at it . I dealt with Craig. He asked if I could leave it because there were 5 cars ahead of me . He called me later on that day and I came to pick up my van .
