Luis & his wife are great to work with. However, I spoke with one of his sons yesterday about my car after my oil change. The only thing they told me i needed were the oil change and filters. I began asking questions to which he told me saw that my car needed control arms and did not mention that until i asked if anything was wrong/if they thoroughly checked my car. He stated the obvious- they don't check the entire car front to back / internally - they only check what is visible to them. If i hadn't asked if anything else was wrong, i wouldn't have known. The control arms are visible to them during the service so i should've been notified about it. We take our car to a mechanic to pay for their knowledge and their work. Mechanics do this everyday, we don't. So I was confused on how he assumed that i knew needed control arms because that's what i rely on them for. Also, apparently they check only most fluids on the car. transmission fluids only upon request. So when i bring my car in and ask them to run the diagnostic testing , i guess that is not happening although i request it. I had to learn this the hard way. I bought my car in 2019. Only ever brought it to this place here for my services. a couple years later i was told my transmission needed a ton of work. they said i had never gotten a transmission service (i was already at 100k and no service ?!?!). I mentioned that those services are what I come here for! he said to read my manual . lol. This told me that they don't do things unless asked (and even then , double check because i have asked). Because i'm sure if it is checked by them that it would be noticeable. So I just came here to say that make sure you know exactly what you need when coming here and ask questions and you'll be good. read more

Don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews. I went in for a quick oil change with my own oil and filter, and somehow they stripped my oil pan plug. Then they tried to blame my regular mechanic (who I've gone to for years with zero issues) and pushed me to pay $600 for a new oil pan or $150 to rethread it. Super sketchy. I said no, and they forced the plug back in, made me sign a paper saying they're not responsible, and warned it might leak. Took it to my usual mechanic right after--he said they clearly stripped it themselves, tightened it up, and it's fine. He'll fix it properly next time for free. Lesson learned: stick to your trusted mechanic. This place will scare you into unnecessary repairs just to make money. read more

Don't be fooled by the 5 star rating. Don't be so gullible. Get second and third opinions. All they care about is money and this guy Luis will just tell you to replace something thats not needed. He said I need a new Vtech for my Honda Accord because it was leaking oil, then went to my previous mechanic and said all I need is a new seal for my VVT Conrol valve. Previously he replaced my steering pump without my consent, he stated he tried to call me but said I wrote my number down wrong when previously his wife had called my correct number before. Another thing is they dont keep your records. So keep your receipts. His wife couldn't find any of my repairs done and I just had them done recently. Its all a front over there, so be careful. I went back to me old mechanical. Find an honest mechanic who will help you and not charge you for unnecessary repairs or upsells you. read more

Looked around yelp for auto shops with great guest service and landed on this one. I gave them a call to ask for a quote on some timing cover leak repairs since the dealership charged a lot. Luis said he would look at my car for free to see for himself what the issue was. He spent time to explain the details of the state of my car and said the repair actually was not urgent and gave recommendations on how to approach the repair. The family and employees here are amazing. I brought my Honda civic hybrid in for multiple error lights. They checked my car and the owner calls me telling me there's bad and good news. Bad news - I have to get a new generator. $2,000 for parts and $450 for labor. Good news - he called in a favor and found out that my generator was still under warranty and told me to get my car to Sierra Honda dealership asap, to have it replaced completely FREE. I kind of couldn't believe it at first. The owner himself seemed super excited for me, and I thought it was so sweet. He excitedly gave me the details and walked me through on what to do at the dealership. Had my car out within 48 hours. I am so incredibly thankful and grateful to this shop. They were super busy on a Wednesday morning and still managed to help me out. read more

I brought my car in for AC service last month right before the heatwave. They replaced the compressor with a 1 year warranty part that is working great and just as good as the original would have but much cheaper. Everyone was super friendly and Luis explained the whole service and saved me a lot of money by letting me know of the lesser price compressor that works as well as the MOPAR part. I feel like I must leave a review for them because I am a perfectly satisfied customer. If I can I fix my car myself I do it myself but when it comes to important engine maintenance and repair, I prefer to trust this to professionals. I brought my old Honda Ridgeline to 'Luis & Sons Automotive' yesterday to replace the timing belt and components. Timing belt thing, I thought I need many parts but Luis suggested replacing the parts that only needed to be replaced. I saved a bunch of money from that. I also asked to check the AC compressor and system because for the past months it did not work and made a weird noise. I just wanted to check the price because I know the AC work is super expensive. I thought I need to replace the AC compressor and gas completely. Luis, the master, just listened to the engine and by the sound of it, he seemed to understand what was wrong. After the timing belt job, he checked it and he told me that I need to replace just a little thing and I paid much much less than I expected. Everything was okay, just a little thing. He even explained to me what was wrong and I learned. If he didn't let you know, my original plan is replacing the AC compressor myself and go there again to refill the gas, and it cost a lot even I do the AC compressor work myself. The work was done quickly, professionally and efficiently. The owner, Luis, and the whole his team (his family) truly know what they are doing and they can be trusted with the most complicated matters. They offer a wide range of services and make every effort to make sure that your car is safe to drive it. The waiting area and the garage were clean, the prices were also reasonable. This is my 3rd time visiting the Luis and sons and I felt like this is a perfect time writing a review, because I am a super satisfied customer. The car drives like brand new, I knew my car has some weird noise but after Luis took care of it, now the noise is completely gone and I feel like I changed my car to a new one. Day and night difference. They open at 8am when I arrived at 8:05 am they already had 6 ppl in front of me . A great and honest mechanic will always have work . I love how the business is family oriented. They did a transmission rebuild( $2500k +)that only lasted 3 years and about 12k miles. They refused to check the transmission work they did without charging me $100. I went to to another mechanic who charge me $0 to check the transmission. They told me they did sh*ty work and recommend a new transmission + install for less then $2k. This was 3 years later!
