He provides all of the information needed for you and helps you to make a decision on what treatment plan is best including making sure to tell you if it's appropriate to wait and see at next visit. There are iPads in the waiting area for the kids to play on and the dental chairs all have TVs on the ceiling to help keep patients distracted during the cleanings/procedures! His staff are incredibly kind, patient, and caring and honestly was the best/easiest X-ray experience I've ever had! The office is very nice, clean, and up to date with extremely kid friendly decor/color scheme. I highly recommend this office!

They were absolutely wonderful with my 4yo and 2yo (first time for the latter). The staff were welcoming and made my kiddos feel at ease. Both walked out with smiles on their faces. Dr. Salthouse took the time to talk with us and gave us wonderful tips for our kids. We even learned some new things for our own hygiene. I recommend them over other nearby locations. Take your kids here. You'll be happy you did.

The waiting room was completely full, which should have been a sign of how disorganized things were. Once we were finally taken back, my child spent maybe 5 minutes with the hygienist. After that, we were left waiting in the room for another 45 minutes with no updates or communication from staff. When I finally asked what was going on, I was told the dentist still had another patient ahead of us. At that point, we decided to leave without even getting an exam. It's unacceptable to keep children waiting that long with no communication or consideration for families' time. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this office based on our experience. It goes without saying we will not be returning.

I have been taking my kids to this office for years, but over the last year the quality of care has…read moregone downhill. Appointments are continually pushed back for months at a time. The final straw was this past December. My daughter was seen and diagnosed with two cavities, but we were told the soonest they could treat them was June. At the time she wasn't in pain, so I trusted their guidance. Fast forward to now--she was just fitted for Invisalign, and the pressure caused severe pain in the teeth with the cavities. She was crying and in extreme discomfort. I contacted the office explaining the situation and was told they still could not see her any sooner. There was no emergency accommodation, no concern, and no attempt to help. We were simply told to find another dentist. Allowing a child to go six months with multiple cavities and refusing to help when they are in obvious pain is unacceptable. This office showed zero compassion or urgency, and it's clear they do not prioritize their pediatric patients' well-being. I will be pulling my kids from this practice. I would not recommend this office to any parent who expects timely care and concern for their child.

Last week, both of my kids had a dental appointment(5/18) and both ended up throwing up that morning. I called and rescheduled their appointments for Wednesday (5/27) . My husband has been deployed the last 2 months and I work an 8-5 job in healthcare. He came home and was able to put in leave immediately to take them to their dental appointment on Wednesday. On Tuesday night,after my 10 hour work day, I notice my text messages asking me to confirm the appointments, so I responded we would be there so they knew we were coming. I noticed a call coming in around 8:30am on Wednesday morning. I recognized the number and was not with a patient, so I was able to answer. I was informed that our appointments were cancelled because we did not confirm the appointment. Like I mentioned, I work in healthcare. We absolutely do not (&have never at any of the places I've worked) cancel appointments due to not having confirmation . People plan around appointments, take leave and time off around appointments. And while I completely understand that the offices time (& providers time) is valuable, my time is valuable as well. We have decided to change offices and providers. When I schedule an appointment, I make plans and make arrangements to keep the appointment. Especially since this specific appointment was scheduled the week before.

She made me comfortable and proceeded to take Xray of my mouth. I told her about food getting stuck on the left side of my mouth between my molar and wisdom tooth. She noticed it in the Xray and took a picture of it to show DDS Lexi. Then she proceeded with my teeth cleaning with sonic scaler, polishing and fluoride treatment. She was able to remove my tarter without causing any pain or discomfort! Consulted with DDS Lexi and we agreed to a filling in two weeks to fix the issue. Treatment was good as usual. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Recently, Essence…read moreHealthcare switched their dental coverage to Liberty Dental...when my husband went in for his regular exam and cleaning, he asked specifically if Sunset Hills Dental took his new Dental coverage, and they said yes. Two days AFTER his appointment, the office called and said that they were considered out-of-network, and that he now owed almost $300. Then the snippy person at the office told him it shouldn't be a big deal because he's always been paying out of pocket. WTAF????? For the record, other than dental work, the most he has paid out of pocket was about $80 when the office started doing xrays twice a year to pad their billing, and his former insurance only paid for xrays once a year. I have been a patient at Sunset Hills Dental as well; they have lost me as well. I have already found another dental practice and will not return to SHDG.
