I made an appointment with Forefront Dermatology a year ago, and the doctor I saw spent less than three minutes with me and prescribed me an expensive injectable which my insurance doesn't cover and I cannot afford out of pocket. Fast-forward a year later and I decided I'm going to try one more time. I really need help. When I was checked in by the nurse she was not very caring and only concerned that I wasn't taking the expensive injectable that my insurance wouldn't cover and secondarily made me feel lousy when I was on it. The doctor I saw last year had moved on, so I had a new doctor today. He was somewhat dismissive and judgmental of my serious ongoing struggle I have had on and off in my life with this condition. he asked my occupation. When I told him what I did for a living and he told me that because I do what I do for a living, I should not be struggling with this. It was a horrible thing to say. Completely uncalled for. I do not need further judgment or sensor. It is difficult enough living with this times 40 years. I went there seeking help. I left in tears. This is the very reason that I don't even bother seeking help and feel hopeless about my ongoing struggles. This was not at all helpful and I do not recommend them for any kind of understanding or compassionate care.

Transparently, there was a moment I considered switching providers but this was due to a specific nurse practitioner versus the practice. I was switched to a different NP and have been happy. My last visit did uncover an atypical mole plus another to freeze off for precaution. I returned to see Dr. Cassis and had my mole surgically removed. Four stitches and will return for removal. The team took great care of me, from scheduling to having empathy for my fear of the needles and surgery. I received hugs from a couple of people and they didn't make me feel embarrassed. There's plenty of parking near the medical center. Two lobbies - one for basic skin checks and another for services with Dr. Cassis. Take note that calling to make an appointment can take a moment if the team isn't available to answer. It's listed as a core complaint in other reviews and it's not unfounded. The front desk team for skin checks is also fairly business-like but I've not experienced or witnessed rude behavior. I'm okay with that because the appointments run on time and that feels rare with other medical appointments.

That's right they charged me for a co pay to wait 45 Minutes then when I asked for a refund because I was done with waiting - they charged me a second time!!!! Office staff kept telling me that their records show I received my refund. Many calls later and with the help of L and N credit union (super bank) I finally got my $90dollars. Beware - do not use your debit card with these clowns. Use a credit card if you continue to see this group of docs - you will get your money back faster. I did have some concerns about pain, but she was very attentive and had her assistant apply numbing gel beforehand, which definitely helped make the process more manageable. While I was there, I also brought up concerns about my hairline. Kara was very knowledgeable and helped me understand what could be causing the issue and what I could do to improve it. It was something I hadn't even thought to address before my visit, so I really appreciated her insight. The office itself is very clean, and the staff is friendly and professional. When it comes to group practices, it can sometimes feel a bit impersonal, but that wasn't my experience here--they made sure I felt taken care of. They also had samples for sensitive skin detergent and coupons for La Roche-Posay, which I loved since I already use their products--such a nice added touch.
