An Auburn service technician recommended repairs that would have cost us thousands of dollars. Auburn's senior management later confirmed that those repairs were clearly unnecessary. During a subsequent service visit, Auburn's technicians damaged our carpeting. Auburn turned the claim over to its insurer, which offered only a fraction of the replacement cost, and Auburn denied any further responsibility. Unnecessary recommendations, damaged property, and a refusal to make the customer whole--that is why we will no longer do business with Auburn.

I found them on a search site, and saw that there was a reasonable service fee to come out for an estimate. I had to cancel the appointment due to other work being done at the house that took longer than expected. I called recently and rescheduled the appointment. Again I explained what I wanted done, and it seemed the guy understood what I was asking. I scheduled an appointment for today at noon. I asked the price of the service call, and he told me they did not charge a service call. Okay great...I was sure I saw a small service fee initially, but no fee works too. I just received a call this morning from a guy at XH asking what I wanted done. I was confused, because I assumed professionals took notes on these things. I explained again what I wanted, and after being told in the previous conversation that they needed to come out for an estimate, today he rattled off a price of $650 without seeing anything. I was shocked, because I had a couple other estimates for less than a third of the cost, but they were booked way out, and I wanted this done soon. So I mentioned this to the guy, and he said yes you should go with that, because that's what we charge just to come out. I said, "what is your charge for coming out...the $200 I was quoted by the other guys?" There is no $200 dollar service charge listed anywhere on their website, I was told there was no service charge when I scheduled the appointment, and no electrician is charging $200 for a service call. I don't know why this guy or this company decided they didn't want my business, but clearly that was the case. He correctly expected me to say no thanks when he quoted me a price of $650. I will assume I dodged a bullet on this one.

I do real estate full-time and I first used them to assess the sewer lines in an apartment building my brother and I were personally in the process of buying and he found a sink hole underneath due to the corroded sewer lines (saving us thousands of dollars.) Ever since I have recommended them to all my buyer and seller clients in need of a plumbing inspection, repair or scope! Which is honestly saying a lot, because after 11 years in real estate, I have very very few contractors I recommend. Because a lot are unreliable, but NOT them! They respond quickly, they show up, they are available in emergencies, they do great work, they are super knowledgeable, they are honest and they NEVER pressure my clients into repairs they don't need. They treat your home like it's their home and what they'd personally and professionally recommend! 1 STAR -- EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE…read more I strongly recommend that other property owners and investors think twice before hiring this electrician. I own and manage multiple properties in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and this was by far one of the worst contractor experiences I have dealt with. The biggest issue was not simply the work itself--it was the lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability From the beginning, Kevin was rude and difficult to deal with. Despite that, I still decided to hire him and gave him the opportunity to complete the job. Unfortunately, his attitude became even worse afterward. One specific issue involved electrical conduit/piping on the exterior side of the house. Kevin told me that he would disconnect and remove it. The conduit was originally associated with the stove outlets, which he was also supposed to address. The conduit was left in place, and after I brought it up, instead of simply acknowledging that he had forgotten to remove it, he attempted to change the story and make it seem as though I was somehow manipulating the situation. We ultimately had to hire another electrician to finish the work that was left behind. We are also looking into disputing the difference in cost for having another electrician complete the work that we believed was included in the original job. Another major concern was his conduct while at our property. He brought his girlfriend onto the property while working. We have exterior and interior security cameras, and we have documentation of this. Not saying that she did anything wrong, but this extremely unprofessional. We also have screenshots of our conversations that demonstrate the way he communicated with us throughout this situation. I have included some of that documentation with this review so people can judge the interaction for themselves. I also want to make it clear that I received several calls from Kevin that I considered threatening and completely inappropriate. His communication was extremely unprofessional, and the text messages provide additional context. Interestingly, neighbors who were observing activity around the property also independently expressed concerns to me about Kevin's behavior and their impression of him while he was at the house. One neighbor specifically told me that he did not appear trustworthy to them. I'm mentioning this because these observations came from people who had no involvement in the contractor dispute itself. We have documentation, photographs, security-camera footage, and screenshots of the conversations. The photograph included with this review shows the conduit that was left behind. If anyone believes this is a fake review, I am completely willing to discuss my experience and provide additional documentation where appropriate. 786-262-5972 I have worked with numerous contractors across multiple properties in the Cleveland area. Contractors don't have to agree with every customer, but they should communicate professionally, do what they agreed to do, and take responsibility when something is missed. Based on my experience, I would not hire this electrician again, and I would strongly encourage other property owners and investors to do their due diligence before hiring him.
