    Sal was extremely professional in sending out their repair person. However, the person who came…read morewas very unfriendly. When I asked him to wear a mask, he refused. When I asked him to check if there was a leak of gas from my furnace, he said everything is in good working condition and there are multiple safety measures to prevent any leak. But when I asked how to be sure there is no leak, he said that is a second step to measure with a meter and it will cost another $89. In any event, I didn't find him to be friendly and helpful to rule out my initial complaint. I did not opt for the second step. No second step for diagnosis was informed by Sal earlier. That said, I guess I must give the business a 5-star rating based on the professional scheduling and followup of the appointment. "One swallow doesn't make a summer' or "one bad day" is not a true reflection of the company. I am changing my rating at Sal's text request personally. It's only changed because I can understand Sal's concern as a businessman. He offered me free service in return but I declined it again. He got me wrong completely. My changed rating is only for the professionalism shown by the reception desk and their follow-up. It is not for the changed picture Ron gave that I asked if Ron wanted me to wear a mask. Who would ask that in one's own house? I was wearing my mask thoughout the encounter. As a 65+ year-old, I must be cautious. I don't need a service person's permission to wear a mask inside my house. Unbelievable. But I thought I must clarify to Sal's reply. Thanks Sal for your prompt response. But, isn't that a courteous way to ask ? - "You might want to wear a mask". He saw I was wearing one and he was entering my residence. Yes, I could have insisted but I think that is rude. Secondly, my complaint was "gas leak" and hence, the request to send someone from your company. I am not disputing any diagnosis. I just placed it before you, so it doesn't happen again.. I don't want any money back either. Service was rendered and I accept your company's policy. However, I thank the reception desk for immediately scheduling the appointment the same day. It was highly professional, including the update they followed up with. I commend you for that. Anyways, thanks for your immediate response. Much appreciated

Where is Empathy today? All he needed was a $160 fan which they were charging $1200 for, plus labor. Shame on this business. I know they need to make a living, but jeez, this is over the top. The opportunity to return the items anonymously without repercussion was extended, but my items have not been returned. * * * * * PERSONAL PROPERTY STOLEN * * * * * The work that was completed was done well enough. They even went above and beyond to work with my existing antiquated utilities. The mess left behind was no worse than that of other tradesmen I have hired (dust, greasy fingerprints, bootprints, etc). One of the men took one of my kitchen towels and used it as a rag without asking. It was then left balled up on the floor. I didn't even bother calling to complain about this, but in retrospect...* * * * This may have been a tactic to draw my attention away from the shelf where my personal belongings were stolen from.* * * * If you hire this company, get the full names of ALL of the workers who will be in your home. Google them before letting them in. If your gut tells you not to let them in, do not let them in. Do not take your eyes off them for a second. Do not allow one worker to distract you while the other(s) are unattended. If possible, place cameras, even around items of no/low value, kids' toys, knick-knacks, etc, even if they are too high up to reach normally. If you do not have video cameras, take before pictures of any room they have access to. Do not allow them to remove trash/debris from your home. Insist that they leave any garbage bags behind and check them thoroughly before throwing them away yourself. Take inventory of your belongings immediately. Record and photograph anything odd, even if it isn't something you would usually bother complaining about. If anything has gone missing, NO MATTER HOW LOW IN VALUE, file a police report. The most effective purpose I'm giving 4 stars in place of 5 is due to the fact the pricing felt a chunk excessive. Still, the exceptional and professionalism made it well worth it. Would clearly name them again for destiny plumbing needs.

    Rob came on a Saturday within an hour of us calling after noticing a significant water heater leak…read more He works tirelessly for almost 7 hours, finishing the job at 11 PM, removing the old heater and installing a new heater. Excellent attitude, extremely hard worker. Highly recommend it. Addition, Rob also identified another major issue with our water that we bundled into the repair. With a little…read moreresearch (after the fact), I learned that their "plumbers" are actually salesmen who earn a commission. So, expect high-pressure tactics and quotes for the most amount of money they can squeeze out of your wallet. They pressured an elderly family member into signing up for an extremely expensive repair, and even discouraged her from getting other quotes. Turns out, the actual repair was MUCH smaller than they said on the estimate, but since it's a flat rate, we still had to pay the full amount (almost ten thousand dollars). Oh, and then after the initial repair was done, they found another "problem" farther down the line and wanted to fix that...for another $10K. Unbelievable. I reached out to their customer service dept several times and didn't get so much as a reply. We'll never be using Roto Rooter for anything ever again. Hire them if you're looking to get severely ripped off. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and use a good, local tradesman. Also, don't ever let them talk to elderly loved ones. They WILL take advantage of them.
