I had gone to a free event for a drop off but by the time I got there the truck was full! So I called company and they were located close by near Blue Diamond. The process was easy. I back up my truck. The man came out and dumped the paperwork to be shredded into a garbage looking bin and rolled it away. They don't take boxes but they will recycle them for you. I paid $10 a box. I was spending too many hours trying to shred on my own... 5 pages at a time. My boss referred me to Assured. They do residential service; not just commercial/business! They handled a large box full of documents I didn't need; which included my mom's stuff from the 80's and 90's! I contacted them. Their initial response was within 24 hours. They work with you on the details and you receive a quote. When you come to an agreement, set an appointment, and sign a service order. It's all convenient and electronic... except the workers. On appointment day, you receive a call informing you of an ETA. A human being rings the bell and carries your junk out to their shredding truck. You can watch. When all is good and done you get the paid invoice; keep the original. They accept cash, check or credit card. Also just learned they destroy hard drives too. These you need to bring into the shop. I've used Shred-It services, too for large, storage-unit sized jobs where they come to the site and shred. I know Assured does that too but I've just been getting rid of old bankers boxes of receipts and other shreddables so I've been taking it to the Assured facility and dropping them off. I'm very happy with their service and have started purchasing their $10 "bags." I keep several at home and fill them up and drop them off as I go. Here I am, joining the five star club for Assured. While cleaning out my mother's estate, there were precisely 2,733,912 pieces of paper inside. Bank account statements, property information, bills, taxes, and much more. We made some phone calls to places and got estimate of $400 to $600 or more to come to the house and shred them. We set them in the garage and decided to handle them later. On our next attempt, I brought my very strong son with me to help me load them, as certainly it would have been cheaper to bring it somewhere. We made more phone calls to find a reasonable place to shred them. Turns out that many places where you can bring shredding want you to stand there and slide it all into little 2" slots. Omg that would take forever. And then **insert harking of shredding angels here** we found Assured. They gave us a rough estimate on the phone which turned out to be completely accurate. For about $130, they helped us unload the paper into giant shredding bins, locked them up, and we were on our way. They tell you when they are coming and then they communicate with you as they draw near.
