Oh my gosh, I wish I could give AST Plumbing 10 stars!!! I contacted the owner, Arthur, again because I was so impressed with the excellent service last time. They surely didn't disappoint. I actually feel like they elevated the experience with even better service and quality repair. I had one of my toilets that wouldn't refill the toilet with water so I manually had to lift a lever that would fill it back up. Very tedious process. So when I spoke to Arthur, he was like, "Yes, we can be there today in the window of 11-2. It was AMAZING that they came at the beginning of the window because secretly inside everyone hopes your services are met earlier on than later. I also asked if they could help change an old shower head with a wider rounded more powerful shower head replacement. I sent him a picture and he came with an identical one like it. He sent 2 of his greatest workers, Raffi & Steve, who were so professional, helpful in tips, efficient, and kind in their service! They quickly fixed my defaulted valve, changed the shower head and were done with everything under 15 minutes. Raffi also noticed the flapper in the back toilet area was extremely old so he quickly replaced that too. I couldn't be happier to have used their services at AST Plumbing! Absolutely unacceptable experience. The owner/manager of this company hung up on me in the middle of a conversation simply because he couldn't handle being questioned or held accountable. Instead of acting like a professional and addressing the issue, he chose to dodge responsibility and end the call. Unprofessional, Rude and Dishonest. I would not recommend this plumbing service to anyone. From start to finish, my experience was completely unacceptable. The technician barged into my home without any professionalism, and the very first thing he asked was my ethnicity completely inappropriate and irrelevant. He then made unsolicited comments about the state of my kitchen, and walked through my home with his shoes on, showing zero respect for my space. On top of all of that, he refused to fix anything and still charged a full visitation fee. When I contacted the company for documentation explaining their refusal to service my pipes, they claimed the issue was a stoppage "downstairs" and outside their scope. However, a second plumber I hired confirmed that the problem was entirely with my local pipes meaning it was absolutely something they could and should have fixed. This company makes a habit of finding excuses to avoid doing the actual work while still collecting fees. Their technician was misogynistic, invasive, and completely unprofessional. Instead of replacing the faulty mixer, which is a covered repair, they insisted on converting it to a single-handle system and wanted $1,500 out of pocket for "modifications." When I asked why a conversion was necessary since replacement 3-handle mixers are readily available, they could not provide an explanation and stopped returning calls. Thank goodness my home warranty company eventually sent AST Plumbing out. I had previously worked with a different plumber through my warranty provider (First American), and based on that visit, I was informed that the technician reported my hot water was working properly and that my water heater only needed "maintenance." Because of that, First American denied my service claim and said they wouldn't authorize any further work on it. Since the water heater was still having problems, I contacted a second plumbing company for a private evaluation. That plumber gave me a written estimate of nearly 7k to replace the unit. The quote was more than I could afford at the time, so I decided to wait. I submitted the second plumber's report to First American for reconsideration. In response, they scheduled a follow-up with the original plumber. I had an appointment booked, but no one showed up. I followed up again, and thankfully First American agreed to send AST Plumbing instead. Anthony and Steve from AST were incredibly helpful. They took the time to properly assess the situation, submitted a new claim to First American, and the company ended up covering part of the replacement. Anthony and Steve came back later that same week to install the new water heater, and it's a much nicer unit than the one I had before. They worked efficiently and made sure everything was done right. I did have to pay some out-of-pocket costs, but it was absolutely worth it. Based on my experience, AST Plumbing is honest, professional, and hardworking. I truly appreciate the service they provided. I came across this company through my home warranty insurance, the work needed wasn't covered so I proceed to have the work done, as it was needed. The worker Anthony was nice enough and did the work I asked for, I found out later that I was over charged for some of the work, but that's my fault for needing it done asap and not having time to vet this company, as I normally would. When all was done. Art was paid $14,50 on 1/1/26 and I was told that more work was needed, that would cost $11k, which I declined. I asked for a detailed receipt so I know what exactly was done & because I am being reimbursed for the work I paid for through another source. As of today's date, I have yet to receive the detailed invoice I need. I have asked multiple times with an empty promise of getting one, and now, he and Anthony ignores my messages. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Since I have given him almost 3 months to provide the invoice, it's been more than enough time to get me one. Well, i overpaid and was taken advantage of, but at least I did so knowingly and agreed to it. Had a leak at my property so filed a claim with First American Home Warranty. The good: Art called very quickly and was very timely on his response. He sent his guys out and in 45 min they showed up. A young kid and an older man came to diagnose the problem. They were able to find where the leak was after cutting a hold in the ceiling. Unfortunately the water was leaking at a spot right behind a stud, so it was hard to get to. They called Art to show him on video what the problem was. They couldn't get to the leak, but provided an alternative solution to solve the problem. I was told that they would need to slightly re-route the pipe by drilling a hole from the bathroom above. They did just that, and did a fine job cleaning up. Although the damage to the walls need to be repaired. The bad: This was a project that took the guys less than 2 hours to complete from start to finish. It was a fairly simple solution of drilling a hole, running a new cold water copper pipe of about 2 feet and connecting it to the existing cold water pipe. Unfortunately, I was originally quoted $1800 for this (in addition to what the warranty company was paying them). Although I was not happy about it, the guys were there and i needed it to be fixed. Art was nice to do it for $1400, so I let them proceed. Unfortunately this just seems very overpriced to me. How is a 2 hour job for 2 guys (using minimal materials a $1400 project?) Lawyers don't even charge this month for only 2 hours of work. I give 2 stars for the fast service and completion of the work. However, the price was just overquoted, but since it was through the warranty company, i didn't really have any other choice. read more

Dishonesty and zero integrity. Ast Plumbing was sent out through my home warranty company and they sent someone out. He came in with no equipment and took a look at my leaky shower that I needed fixed. Took some pictures and said he would look for parts and get back to me. A few days later they outright lied and told my warranty company that there was no issue so they could get out of doing the call. I called Ast plumbing back who had me send more pics but then they never got back to me after a few more texts and a voicemail. Why were they ducking me? Strange an unprofessional. Anyway, the warranty company sent a different plumbing company who fixed my leak in about 5 minutes. My experience with Ast was very unfortunate. They were either lazy or untalented. These fraudsters came out to look at my shower faucet which was leading out of the cold handle when the shower was turned on. The 2 plumbers who showed up took a quick, 2-minute look at my faucet handle and declared that it was "under-warranty" by the faucet manufacturer and could not fix it. They had no tools, they did no work. This was a service call I made as part of my home warranty plan from American Home Warranty and so I had to pre-pay the fixed fee of $95 to schedule the appointment. My plan says it fixes plumbing leaks. The "plumbers" made this determination without even taking off the handle or looking at the valve. They provided no proof and di no work. 75 gal Water heater expired . We have American Home Shield AST Anthony came out and told us that up grading to Tankless would be better in Long Run. Charged us 5500 to for tankless and labor. Told us we could have American Home shield pay us out for our waterheater. In the mean time they went back to American Shield and negotiated behind our back and acted like they did job with the claim and was paid again from our understanding about half of what we paid. Which would amount to over 8000. They scammed us out if our buy out. American homestead is looking into it as well. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a plumbing company. I was assigned this contractor through first American home warranty. The tech came out and did the initial inspection and told *me* to order a simple part that they were able to provide themselves. I did that and was told to contact them again after the part came in. It has been a full week of radio silence. I have called, texted, emailed, left voice mails and have received NOTHING. I'm now stuck. They were on time, professional and extremely courteous. Art even took the time to set up the app for me and explain the nuances. The most impressive part is how honest he was. was assigned to this contractor through First American Home warranty(like many of the other reviews on here). He contacted me via a phone call and asked what the issue was. I informed him the first plumber indicated it was the vault that needed to be replaced. He started my warranty insurance wouldn't cover the vault however he can fix it that same say for $1400-1500 out of pocket. I initially told him yes because after dealing with this issue for almost 2 weeks I was desperate to fix the issue. I then decided to check what the insurance covered and saw the vault was covered. Insurance confirmed the warranty did cover the vault. I then texted AST plumbing and told him to hold off because I wanted to go through the warranty insurance instead. Art then called me and stated my insurance would be paying me out $80 only and asked again if i wanted him to come out to fix the vault for $1400-1500 because i had an old system and would continue to break down. I told him i was going to wait. I was told by the warranty company this plumber ONLY indicated the issue was the cartilage and did not indicate it was the vault. Mind you this plumber never came to my home to inspect the issue it was all over the phone. I truly do believe this plumber was going to charge the insurance company for the cartilage and make money out of pocket from me for the vault in the amount of $1400-1500. Very unprofessional and clearly from the rest of these reviews he has taken advantage of past costumers. Anywho avoid this plumber. I had a leak in my house from my shower. AST plumbing was dispatched from my home warranty company. Came out a few days later to diagnose the problem. They told me the home warranty most likely wouldn't cover what it was and if I paid them $1500 they could have it fixed the following day. I preferred to continue to work with the home warranty company and because of that they went totally radio silent and I never heard from them again despite multiple follow ups. They never completed the service where they had to send the diagnosis to the home warranty company. I owe this company a review for sure! So in January 2023, our water heater bursted a valve and all the water was sprouting out. I called First American Home Warranty and they sent me AST Plumber. AST plumber came in around noon to see what the problem was and replaced our water tank. They were in and out for about 1.5 hours. 2 guys were working on it. Great attitude. I was connected with Art through my home warranty insurance and they were reliable, fast, punctual, and thorough from start to finish. Art called me ten minutes after my home warranty company told me they would contact a local plumber for my hot water heater issue. Less than 24 hours later I had a brand new hot water heater installed and covered by my warranty company. I had some out of pocket costs to get my water heater up to code but overall, great experience which is unfortunately historically unusual when dealing with contractors. I went theough First American Home Warranty"I had a sewer back up issue. Anthony came out stuck a camera down the sewer line on the property. He said, "the issue is further outside the property. Every 100 feet there should be a clean out for the main drain. The camera is 150'feet and didn't reach the issue from the back clean out. So I recommended doing a repair on the property line and adding a clean out there in order to properly take care of the problem.". He didn't use a cable to unplug said the problem was away from the foundation and my insurance didn't cover it that I needed to break up where my driveway was to get to my mainline. I called Rooter Man for another opinion. He did an assessment went under the house took video and pictures. He used a cable only about 80-90 feet unclogged from the sewer line on the property everything just unclogged. Through his assessment he gave me what should be done next to prevent further issues. I find when I go through the home warranty my guess is the have contracts with these companies and they don't want to do the work. read more

AST told First American that they needed to MODIFY my gas pipes and because they used the word MODIFY First American declined to cover the repair. AST wanted $2400 to do this work. I said NO. After over a month, I'm still waiting for them to send a report to my home warrenty company. The report literally just needs to say "went out, stated this is most likely something that is not covered by the insurance so owner declined service." To confirm if the warrenty would cover the leak need, they stated they needed to cut a hole in my ceiling but they do not patch up the hole--that would need a second claim to the warrenty or a whole different company, so I declined the service. I can't close this claim without this report. Even the home warrenty reached out to them to follow up-still nothing. I wonder if they would have even come out at all if I didn't call them. The home warrenty assigned them to my case but a week passed and I did not hear from them, only for them to claim they had been trying to call me everyday but had a wrong number. Why wouldn't they reach out to the home warrenty to get my correct information? Even after I recieved a text confirmation that they were assigned to my case?
