My left hand sink was not draining and I could not do anything on that side of the sink. Figured it was the garbage disposal, but truthfully - it was hard to figure out where to even start. NC Rooter is reliable, thoughtful, efficient, affordable, and works to earn your trust so you'll call them again and again. Which I will. I don't have enough glowing adjectives to describe how wonderful they are. Fernando, Alex, and the entire company are beyond fantastic. I first hired them a few years ago to install a gas line for a fire pit on my back porch. Their quote was significantly lower than the others I received, but I went with them because I just had a good feeling; and not simply because when they were here to bid on the gas line they fixed my broken pot filler for free (who does that?!). I've hired them a few times since then, including to replace a vanity in my guest bathroom and add a water line to my porch so I could temporarily do laundry there while my garage was being renovated. For some odd reason, the first time I went to use the washer, it din't work. I texted Fernando (on a Saturday) and he had the guys at my house within a few hours to troubleshoot. (They figured it out pretty quickly). The next day, I couldn't get the dryer to work (I'm clearly the problem common denominator), and Fernando talked me through the fix. To have a plumber that will get back to you within ten minutes on a Saturday and a Sunday is special bordering on unheard of. That's what you're getting with this company. But here's where five stars aren't nearly enough. About six weeks ago, I came home to a flooded front yard and water spilling down my driveway into the street. The house was fine but that much water flowing meant something broke. I have no idea how to locate the main water line let alone how to turn it off. I texted Fernando around 4pm in a panic. He told me not to worry, guys were headed right over. They arrived within the hour, turned off the water, and dug up the yard until they found a broken/corroded pipe (70 years old - original to the house). The guys told me they couldn't repair it. The pipe, all 50 feet of it, much of it under my paved driveway, had to be completely replaced. There are a number of other factors that are boring to retell, but the long/short is I wanted to somehow delay this work about 6 weeks, until other construction started (garage renovation/conversion). The guys somehow put a bandaid on the degrade pipe. They couldn't guarantee it would hold, but I took the risk, and it worked out perfectly. NC Rooter applied the cost of the temporary fix towards their quote for the larger job (which was incidentally thousands less than my contractor wanted to charge me), and even figured out a way to save me from having to demo the driveway. They planned to replace and reroute the main water line (and replace/relocate the manifold) in one day. I ran their plan by my contractor but gave me the all clear. About halfway through the repair, due to a miscommunication between my contractor and the subcontractors working in my garage (that had NOTHING to do with NC Rooter, who explained EVERYTHING in clear detail for me), my contractor flagged an issue. Basically, they weren't paying attention, and tried to blame NC Rooter/me and wanted to charge me for their error. This wouldn't have worked (I had them approving the plan in writing), but Alex saved the day. He pivoted without complaint or finger pointing in about 30 seconds, figured out how to appease the contractors, and didn't try to charge me or them even though their miscommunication created more work for his guys. It's just incredibly, incredibly, incredibly rare to work with a company that cares more about helping you and saving you money than maximizing their own profit. Stop looking. These are your plumbers. Hire them. You won't be sorry. read more
