I have an antique platinum wedding set that needs to be resized. Do you work with platinum? It is my mother's wedding set and my daughter's boyfriend will be proposing with the engagement ring.

Apparently diamonds are cheaper in certain areas because of competition and availability which is understandable. It is your traditional Asian owned jewelry store. They had a small selection, but we were able to find the perfect bangle. It would have been a couple thousand more if I had bought it at an American store and at least 5,000 more if I bought it at Tiffany's or Bailey, Banks & Biddle. I just loved it. So simple and elegant. They let us pick out our diamonds and it was made then and there. They will work around your budget and if you have cash, even better. I think we got a fabulous deal. So much so that my mother was able to get a gorgeous diamond necklace for herself. The service is great and they even cleaned all our other jewelry while we waited. I don't think I can go back to shopping in an American store. You just don't get the greatest bang for your buck.

I've been going consistently since…read morelast December to get my jewelry tinkered with & the service has been amazing both customer & performance wise. The cost was the last straw that just blew me away. I know plenty but not everything about gold & the market, so when I get overcharged I don't hesitate to say something. Chris is fair in pricing for his services & the work he does is awesome without a doubt! Of all the jewelry shops I've visited in the Bay Area for buying gold or strictly jewelry repair, Seelenbacher is hands down top tier in that category. If I ever move out of California, I'd take a flight back just to see Chris for repairs & I'm so being serious.

Well, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Selenbacher, because I love this biz. I love saying I have a…read morejeweler, because I do... and it's Chris. And he's old school and I love everything about it. I recently trusted him to resize my mother's engagement ring - he did it beautifully, in one week, and made this special occasion for me meaningful with connection and skill - it looks brand new! A few things: This is a one man show. If the store is busy, which I feel like it tends to get, because everyone loves having Chris be their jeweler, you have to be patient. He's old school - he texts you when it's ready with a price. If you wanna chat, he's chatty, but I'd also imagine if you don't he ok with that. I do think his inventory is a bit low if you're looking for a place with a lot of different pieces. He seemingly is a diamond guy. He has the diamond studs, he has the tennis bracelets, he has the engagement rings, but wedding bands and other speciality items seemed a bit less than usual. A few years back, my husband gifted me a vintage amethyst with seed pearl pendant from here that I love. Most recently, my husband purchased this beautify gold bracelet from Seelenbacher, but it was a bit long. Chris was able to take a few links out and make those links into super cute earrings. He seemingly can transform jewelry and reimagine old pieces. I recently brought in a pile of single earrings and old chains and he said just keep holding onto it and eventually we'll have enough to do something awesome. Overall, Chris is a gem. GET IT?! If you're looking for some personality and small business vibes with your jewelry this is it.

The resizing process was very strange, multiple resizing tools were used, leading to confusion. The ring was resized incorrectly, so they offered to resize again. Generally at this point, the fee for resizing should be refunded. During the process the ring was resized incorrectly several times. There was no communication through out the process. After the ring was resized correctly, the Opal came back damaged and there was a flaw in the band. There was no communication about anything, the customer service is severe lacking, especially for a luxury goods dealer. The entire experience has soured my view of Esqueleto, I will never refer anyone, if I know anyone who is thinking of purchasing through them o would strongly suggest against it.

He bought me a ring that, within one week, looked terrible. Banged up, bent, and like I got it out of a gumball machine. A friend commented, "thats new? I thought you had it for years." When I contacted them and explained my issues the sales person was insanely condescending and rude. I was actually shocked that a place in business in this area had this level of customer service. They repeatedly accused me of lifting weights in the jewelry. I assure you I put it on and typed on a computer. I don't wear it because it looks horrible and makes me mad. Sounds like multiple other people had a similar experience. My advice? Go somewhere that actually cares about their product and the people they sell to. I would literally never recommend this place to another person in my life. Overpriced, bad quality, rude.
