This is a great spot for a girls' night out! I went with my mom and sisters. Getting in can be tough without a reservation unless you get lucky, so I highly recommend making one. There's a secret entrance since it's a speakeasy, which is fun. Someone is always there to help guide you if you can't figure it out, haha. The lighting is low, and there are a lot of comfy spots to sit, which makes the environment feel very calm and cozy. We ended up all ordering a variety of espresso martinis. Mine was a crème brûlée one, which was divine, but they all sounded delicious! We also ordered the fig & pear pizza to share. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the flavors worked really well together! I'm hoping I can come here with my husband soon. read more

Perfect cocktails, perfect pizza. We stopped out on a Thursday night looking for a bite to eat and a drink or two. Was fun figuring out how to get inside. It's a small place and we thought we'd have to wait but luckily a couple were leaving so we got seats at the bar. It would have been worth the wait. We picked a couple drinks off the menu and they were incredibly beautiful and tasted divine. The pizza we ordered had anchovies and pepperoni and I swear it's the best wood fired pizza I've ever had. I wanted another drink and asked the bartender to make me a rum drink of their choice. Within minutes some amazing concoction, it was smoking inside a glass dome of some sort. The garnish was a flamed cinnamon stick and orange rind that looked like a sword. It was incredible. The vibe is nice and patrons are friendly. It's not loud, so you can carry on a conversation, and the music was nice. There is a cute little back room with tables too for groups of 2-4 people. Parking is plentiful on the street and nearby parking lots. Within walking distance of other bars and restaurants. Up and coming area. Who doesn't love a little mystery with their meal? You feel like you've got a secret when you walk in and the ambiance keeps you feeling snuggled in a private little world created just for you. That's the fun of dining in a hidden speakeasy restaurant. I'm used to only finding them on my trips to Vegas so to discover one close to home was like hitting a local jackpot! We walked in Mattioli's Pizzeria and knew to look for the secret entrance. The only downside was we arrived at the same time as another couple so we didn't get the joy of opening the door for ourselves. (Next time) We walked into a completely darkened room and found a hostess who asked for our reservation and then escorted us to our table. Definitely a speakeasy vibe. Lights down low with just some minimal table lighting. Classy decor and just the right touches of comfort and secrecy to the vibe. We looked over the menu and placed our order. We got a salad and the pizza cupcakes for appetizers. Delicious! If you go do yourself the favor and get the pizza cupcakes! You get four of them and you can choose the variety you want. Of course I picked four different ones and loved them all. We ordered three different pizzas from the menu all of them were happily eaten. The crust is light and soft with a good taste. The pizza all with different sauces, cheeses and toppings yet each flavorful and delicious. We may have over ordered just a bit but who doesn't like to take leftover pizza home? Besides it was just as good warmed up on day 2. We did have some little homemade type sugar donut balls that our friends ordered for dessert. Can't remember what they were called. Nothing I would go out of my way to order but they tasted fine. Just not my type of dessert. The bar seems extensive with lots of handcrafted drinks. Took a video of the waitress torching a crème brûlée martini. Lots of fun to watch them craft these drinks. We sat around a very comfy table that made us feel like all we were missing was a fireplace and we'd have been right at home ready to curl up under a blanket and take a little nap after a good meal. Stopped in for Ladies Night Out and had the most amazing experience. Upon entering the restaurant I was wisked away to a private area that featured a dim lit rustic seating area. For a starter beverage I selected the Black Widow which arrived in a Smokey Briefcase. My friend ordered the Cereal & Milk which was a play on a lunch time favorites such as pizza, chips, rice crispy treats and cereal and milk. For small bites we selected an order or Bruschetta, Calamari and my personal favorite was the Stuffed Peppers. We also enjoyed a round of Espresso Martinis and opted for the Smores and Salated Carmel flavors. We received excellent service. We were checked on multiple times through the night. We sat in the private seating area. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. I called ahead and asked for champagne to be delivered which the server was prompt in bringing to the table once all parties arrived. The drink presentation is beautiful. We shared the prosciutto and arugula pizza and a salad. The waitstaff even brought out a complimentary zeppoli dessert which was amazing. My husband and I would probably give this place 4.5 stars if we could. We've been several times at this point. First off, the atmosphere is very moody and cozy. A lot of speakeasy's opening up feel pretentious and like they're trying too hard, but that's definitely not the case at Oak and Olive. The back room is thoughtfully decorated with old looking books and even has a few 2 person tables where a curtain at the table provides privacy from others if desired. The bar area is also very attractive. In regards to service, the servers were all super friendly and helpful with drink recommendations. I love the Grey Tea Bella which originally was served with a macaron. The last time or two I went, I didn't receive the macaron, which was a definite bummer. The expresso martini flight is a great concept and delivers on taste! We really enjoyed the pizza cupcakes and the creativity behind such a menu offering. The only downside is that we haven't been overly impressed with the pizzas thus far. This place is a gem, and perfect for a special night out or any night out you want a tasty cocktail served up with innovative presentations! read more

Made a reservation for Christmas Eve a few weeks in advance and then confirmed it 2 days before the reservation. The day before Christmas Eve they call and tell me they are actually not opened on Christmas Eve. I tell them I had just confirmed the reseration the night before and they have no response. Clearly they decided at the last minute to not be open on Christmas Eve screwing over anyone who had a reservation becuase by that point every other restaurant that is open, has no reservations left. First, I will say that the place had a great atmosphere, the food was very good and our server was very friendly. She did get us our drinks right away but then it was a while before our food order was taken. It was a Friday evening. But the shocker to my party was, despite having a 6 pm reservation, we were asked to leave after about 1-1/2 hours because they needed the table for another reservation. Couldn't finish the bottle of wine we ordered ( they corked it to go), no offer of dessert but about 30 minutes after getting our food told we had about 20 minutes left. First world problem, I realize, but I have never been asked to leave a table to make way for another reservation or just for anyone waiting to be honest. So not the place apparently if you want to go have a nice evening catching up with friends you don't see often. read more

I wish I could give five stars because it is such a cool idea and the drinks/food were great. However, we waited about an hour to get in and then purchased two drinks each with some food. We were there just over an hour when we got our bills and paid. We were finishing our last few bites of food when a waiter awkwardly asked us to hurry and leave because their wait list for others was over two hours long. I was stunned. We waited just as long and felt like I was being treated like a squatter after paying a $60 tab. read more
