After I looked around a bit (I was shingling a roof for my fish-cleaning station) a helpful employee pointed out to their gigantic materials/lumber yard. After I got out, another employee came up and assisted me, apparently having been radioed that I was coming - how cool is that? Anyway, I got everything I needed, including shingle roofing felt, shingles, galvanized nails, etc. at reasonable price. Been in here a few more times, and each time the customer svc has been great. Also, i'll mention here that they deliver for free if youve purchased lumber, etc. Which is cool if you dont have a 8' bed truck. :) I'll keep coming to Omans for my hardware needs

I was told the wood I was purchasing was quality wood. That the knots wouldn't be larger than 1 1/2 inches and no knot holes. Probably 30% of the wood had large knots, knot holes, and a lot of split and damaged pieces. We managed to cut around and make all of the boards work except 2 boards. When I went to return the two boards and get a few extra I was "helped" by the rudest person I've probably ever had to deal with. From the moment I walked up to the counter he acted like I was disturbing him. He came out to the pile of boards, pointed at the ones I needed to choose from and then as he walked away said "try not to make a mess!" I have made many purchases from city lumber since I bought my home 10 years ago. I believe I have spent enough here to not be treated like a child. I don't know how this business keeps customers if this is how they treat everyone. I will drive to Portland to buy lumber before I will give this place my business again. City Lumber just lost a customer.

I'm not going to buy 50$+ dollars worth of expired film with no proof it's good. Plus, when asked why he doesn't actually sell film he went on a rant why film has gone up and he refuses to sell it which I thought was odd as he advertises it and if sold he technically wouldn't be loosing money. I then asked where I could get it and he said no where and he doubted stores would have it on this part of the coast. I called Walgreens and Walmart nearby who both carried it, which I drove 7 mins down the road and picked up. It was 12$. It disappointed me I couldn't just pick up at the only camera store in Astoria. Weird hill to die on that he wouldn't carry something that's advertised ON HIS SIGN. Dude had hovering energy and followed me out the store ranting.

Several years ago we purchased a 19th century oil portrait of an attractive young woman. The dealer…read moreknew only that it came from a family in mid-Missouri who thought it MIGHT be a work by George Caleb Bingham. We have tried on our own to prove or disprove that attribution, but it was Patricia Moss of Fine Art Investigations who answered the question, and she did it within a few days. Using her knowledge of Bingham and his known portraits, she compared and contrasted our portrait to those by him. Very kindly and in helpful detail, she said we do not have a previously unknown Bingham portrait. A number of itinerant artists traveled through the Midwest in the mid 1800s, and she will continue to look for a connection between our portrait and a specific artist. I have been very impressed with Patricia's knowledge and care and am so glad we found her! We still love our painting and are delighted to have an answer to our question.
