I had been to three mechanics in 2022 that could not fix or explain to me why my car (2005 Honda CRV) won't pass SMOG before being recommended to this auto shop... This however was not an issue for Mitch at AstroMotive Auto Service, as he had my vehicle diagnosed and fixed the issue all in one day & gave me instructions to follow up on. After I drove the needed miles, he checked my car's computer to see if it was ready to test BEFORE sending me to a SMOG check station nearby. This shop is a JOKE. They have VERY LIMITED repair capabilities. Only take appointments. I see the same antique cars sitting in the lifts EVERYDAY. My nephew called and spoke to Mitch. His car had front end problems and could not be driven. We weren't far from their shop, so Mitch agreed to stop by our house, even though he thought from the description, that he may want to refer the job to another mechanic. Mitch showed up and took a look at the car and the photos we had. He said he could do the work, but felt we would be better served by going to a front end specialist, because it would still need to have an alignment after he worked on it. Going to a specialist we could have the work done in one place, which would save an extra day in another shop. He was so kind, professional and sincere in wanting my nephew to have the least amount of inconvenience, understanding how important his car is. I was actually so surprised at how he chose to do what was best for the customer. He turned down our business, just because it was better for us. He didn't charge anything for the house call; he just asked us to remember his shop in the future. Mitch has such a great business philosophy - Customer First! Mitch is the best! My car started acting up (would turn off after shifting) and I didn't know what to do AND I needed my car ASAP for a weekend trip to San Diego. Mitch accommodated me on very short notice and updated me frequently throughout the diagnostic process, which I greatly appreciated. Mitch ordered the part I needed since it wasn't readily available, and instead of leaving me without a car for the weekend, he installed a used part so that I could have my car for my trip! Purchased a '69 chevelle to restore, but have had trouble finding reputable places to have the various projects (media blast, body/paint work, etc.) done. I pass by Astromotive on my way to work everyday, and I see some of the most beautiful classics outside the shop, so I reached out with some questions.
