This place was suggested by my mother to celebrate 2 birthdays. I have never been here before. This is an all you can eat buffett. It was quite dim not sure if that was the feel they were seeking. It could have been a bit brighter. The buffett selection I feel was small compared to the price. The do offer hibatchi. I gave a 4 rating because of the cleanliness, the overall taste of the food, and the attitude of the waite staff. The selection of seafood may be a reasonable offset for the price. To start off i was with my two other friends and the hostess immediately sat us right when we walked in. Very clean tables and the buffet was clean as well as everything else. Man, if they fixed their sushi I'd give them 5 stars. They cover their nigiri with eel sauce, I believe. Probably to mask how low quality it is. No need to do that to the fake crab though. Out of any buffet sushi I've ever seen, you'd be better off getting sushi from a 7-11. Absolutely horrendous. However, everything else? Spot on. I loved their chicken-on-a-stick, sweet and sour chicken, crawfish, oysters, etc. All of it was great. They were on top of the refills and they were incredibly polite. They even kept the food coming. Now for the main highlight. The fried blue crab. I wish I came by myself because I could've stayed for another hour eating those alone. It's a shame I brought my girlfriend because she has such a small stomach. I did not see one person venture over there the whole time I was in there. The meat bar has a good amount of choices. I tried one bit of most and spit out 90% of it. Usually you can't mess up sweet and sour chicken.... they royally screwed it up! The ham, wasn't cooked all the way. NOT ONE, meat I got was warm. All were cold. Some clearly were pulled from a refrigerator and warmed up but not properly. The egg rolls and spring rolls are clearly bought, you can see this by looking inside.... but the spring roll was also still frozen on the inside! The cream cheese Rangoon were overly sweet, running and gross. The fruit bar consisted of honey dew, cantaloupe and grapes. And what appeared to be jello in a jar? I dunno I'm confused also. But I dunno how you'd eat them because it doesn't appear a spoon would fit in it? And no thanks, because how do you properly clean that container! They had a bar where you could pick raw things and have cooked. I didn't trust that with the heating and cooling problems so I passed on that. The sushi I tried two... I'd say no better then grocery store quality. I didn't have to spit it out. Now, their chance at redemption. Dessert. So I got a eclair, a choco chip cookie, a star shaped cookie, a strawberry cake square and half a scoop of ice cream. I'm pretty sure they have all been there since their grand opening. The cream in the eclair was solidified!!!! Wtf! The strawberry cake was stale and the sauce in it was solidified! And the ice cream was tainted with different flavors from customer use. This place was disappointing. The buffet across the street isn't great, but they blow this place out the water. They HAVE to get their heating under control and hire some COOKS! The food isn't terrible, but nothing is hot. My biggest issue is that EVERY employee is on their phone, even when they come to your table... Usually you get a drink in 2 min at a restaurant, but I had to ask 3 employees for one before someone finally got it for me. Just really bad service. read more

This place have the best Chinese food that I had ever tried in Tuscaloosa. I have been here multiple time since they had open. They have gorgeous decorations. The thing that caught my eye the second I walked in was the tree in the middle of their buffet. They have different foods that are placed on the buffet. I really like their crawfish and shrimp that they have during dinner. I also like how they have shrimp during lunch when their price for lunch is low. Lately when I have been to the buffet during lunch I found out that they have a little section for veggie eater. Another plus to this restaurant is that they have self serve ice cream that have a lot of different flavors. Their dessert are delicious especially the red velvet cake that they have. The habachi was great. They have different foods to choose from on it and they will bring it inside the kitchen and cook it for you. I really like that because sometimes when I went I just wanted to eat some shrimp with noodle and I was able to get them to make it for me. read more

I went to asuka because I heard it had good selection for a buffet. Myself and my husband went to in and was yelled at for simply looking at what food they had so from the beginning it was bad. The sushi was old fish, the salad was ok but the olives and one dressing was spoiled. Could have made one very sick. We also ordered steak from the hibachi and it looked as if they microwave the food. I wouldn't recommend this place. Very expensive. Rude staff and most importantly bad nasty food read more

The white rice was good, which isn't hard to do when you have a rice maker.... but the rest of the food was TRASH. the dinner roll tasted like chemicals and the "salt & pepper chicken" was very chewy. I was skeptical but the kids talked me into giving it a. Try. The sushi was fresh! I was very pleasantly surprised. Service was awesome and all the food I tried was great. A very diverse menu. Something for everybody. And the building is very nice as it was in the former Cheddars. I will definitely go back. I'm not sure why people give this place a bad time; I've been a couple of times since it's opened and I've not had a terrible time. Some of areas can def be improved on (dessert is pretty hit or miss, sushi is pretty basic, and the ice cream set up can be better) but for what it's worth, I've never felt the need to ask for my money back. It's a bit pricey I'll admit tho, but for as many different types of food they got and the quality being pretty consistent, I'd say it's reasonable (plus they're just starting up too). However, I have heard from friends that the staff can be rude and unhelpful, but when you live in a college town, you'll encounter all sorts of types that people will hire. I'll update if I have a total awful experience, but currently I'd say it's the go-to buffet in T-town since Ryan's bit the big one. I will not be going there again. I bought my kids with me. I was eating after been there for 30 min. Instead of me and my kids finishing eating the waitress put the ticket down, giving me the assumption that I been there long enough. I have never been in a chinese buffet that's as DISGUSTING as this.The 4 cars parked outside the restaurant should have said it all when we got there. But it was 0800 pm so I was thinking maybe there's not a lot of people because it's almost time for them to close. All of the food displayed looked like they were cooked last week. The meat were dried out of their sauces,the baked fish looked like it has been regeated multiple times with how dark and dry it was, the shrimp cocktail was turning brown and the sliced lemons were mushy. No one was attending the hibachi grill but the meat that looked like pork is the same color as the chicken. The kimchi (fermented cabbage) looked like it has been out for a long time that the chili sauce coating it is on the bowl,not on the cabbage.To top it all, the rice was spoiled and too bad that's the only thing I took a picture of. I was close to puking my guts out and I was so irritated already. Then I told this younger asian lady about it and she said "we have more rice in the kitchen" pointing to their kitchen and I told her that I don't think I am allowed to go get my own rice at their kitchen. So she called for that Asian lady that sat me down and she started yelling at her and banging the rice cooker. I did not understand a thing because she was speaking their languange. A few minutes later, the older Asian lady came to our table and said the rice is ready. I went to check on the rice and it seems like someone scooped out the part that was not spoiled and put it back in there. Like really? I read a review below before posting this one and I honestly couldn't have said it any better. This place is trash. I have NEVER a left a buffet still hungry but this place was so bad we had two plates... The food was so bad I resorted to their soup just to feel sort of full. The miso was too seaweedy (how do you mess up miso??) and the hot and sour AND the egg drop soup was off. How? Idk, But it was not tasty. They had a seafood area and their were oysters literally sitting out... WITH NO ICE under them?? Nothing to keep any of the seafood cold! They had a sushi area as well and the avocado on the roll as was literally brown, again, nothing to keep this area cold. Oh forgot to mention, they don't let you get your own food (might be a COVID thing) so they give you huge portions (even when you say a little) so you feel bad for not eating all of it. The salad bar was a joke, they had romaine lettuce with withered tomatoes as the base and many toppings to choose from. Only thing is, nothing is labeled and when I asked what dressing is what she said I don't know. Cool. I pointed to an Italian bottle on the side and she poured it in a cup for me, thanks, but the dressing tasted like it was expired. Staff was friendly but hard to communicate with. The food was not good at all, asked if the Crab and cheese had onions in it because my girlfriend is allergic to it and she went and asked the manager and come back and said no onions in it. I feel like one star is appropriate. Some of food was edible, however most things were under cooked or stale. When we walked in, the hostess did not look up from her phone for a whole 15 seconds. She told us to "hold on" while she finished what appeared to be a game of candy crush. They were having a special on "hibachi steak". The raw steak was sitting out and it was all brown and rotting. We were very impressed with this buffet. The servers kept checking on us to make sure our drinks stayed filled and everything was ok. The food was fresh and hot and delicious. The kitchen workers really hussled going back and forth keeping the trays of food full. We were pleased and will definitely go back. Great price also! read more
