I love this place! The entire team makes me feel like part of their family helping me throughout my journey as I recover from an extensive shoulder surgery. Not only are they kind, but organized and filled with experienced, knowledgeable professionals. For chiropractic, you will not be disappointed with Dr. Delaney and Dr. Shannon - amazing and no "voodoo" or upsell shenanigans at this place. Private rooms for treatment vs. feeling like cattle being treated out in the open. They've helped both me and my husband immensely! Jenae is also unmatched for acupuncture! I didn't even believe in it until I reached a level of desperation on my shoulder and she's really a miracle worker. Acupuncturists have different techniques and her's is unmatched!! They also have great massage therapists - for actual therapeutic massage! If I was a spa massage, I'll go to a spa, but I'm here to feel better and stay better (not just relax). All that being said, the entire office is warm and welcoming including the front desk. I couldn't recommend Asula more and I've been to plenty of chiropractors and wellness centers! read more

As a former collegiate soccer player he really relates to pain and soreness experienced by athletes, week-end warriors and anyone who wants to optimize joint movement and reduce pain - and he has a plan for this old codger. Massage (Mallory ) - Sure handed expertise using many techniques providing relief in my senior years, and relief from life-long sporting endeavors and current mountain bike crash and burn injuries on the Oregonian trails. Acupuncture (Jenae) - It's meditational drifting into a relaxing place called "Aculand" as the special needles penetrate my skin targeting meridian points to move the QI (chee) around my body for treating my sciatica nerve tingling, sinus drainage and sore joints. As you walk through the front door your are greeted with a service smile when you meet Merlinda, Lilly, Carla, Sarah, Hanna and the gang. The start and end all appointments soothes my mood and well being, while they provide professional and competent assistance scheduling, investigate insurance coverage, recommend services and manage accounts - and I look forward to the chit-chat. Naturapathy is on my list to start up for next year I'm very confident that I'll be always be received with a smile and leave with a smile after my treatments. So thankful I found Stumptown Doulas when I did. Just in time for my birth. I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Gathrite and 10/10 recommend Rachel as a doula and all around human! I wasn't sure if we were going to have a doula this time around. It was my 3rd natural birth and my husband and I have been a pretty well oiled machine with the previous 2 but this time around we had more difficult curve balls thrown our way. We found and met Rachel the week before I ended up giving birth. She was absolutely pivotal to our experience. She was a strength to me that I didn't even know I needed. She held my hand in some of my most difficult moments and gently talked me through what I needed to hear. Her strong faith in God was the most important part to me. She never made us feel like a burden, even when things took longer than expected. She was grace filled, equipped with ideas and tools to help, and even made sure I was in a good position for pushing which may have been the reason my baby's shoulders didn't get stuck like my previous 2 did. Which was a big answer to prayer. I cannot recommend her enough. read more

I hurt my back lifting a box...nothing unusual, but it would not get better. Baths, hot tubs, ice, massage (elsewhere), muscle relaxants all failed. 5 days of misery. Went to Asula, saw Dr Megan. Got in the same day. I have never had a more thorough chiropractic treatment in my life, and I have been to numerous chiropractors over the last 30 years. She did not try to sell me dozens of treatments, just did a great job examining me, massaging the sore area, and adjusting me. Sure enough within 2 days the pain was gone. Dr. Grant is the best chiropractor I've ever seen and I've been adjusted by about 20 in my life. I live in Los Angeles and came up to Portland for a visit and was in such bad shape that I almost cancelled my trip. I've been visiting Asula for chiropractic care and massage regularly for over a year. I always look forward to my appointments. The massage services are excellent and have helped relieve specific areas of tension and pain that I've had. Because Asula is also a chiropractic and naturopathic medicine practice, I feel that the massage therapists are more aware of relieving specific issues. And the environment and experience at Asula is tranquil and extremely relaxing. For chiropractic care, Dr. Laila is incredible. In my experience, she uses minimal adjustments, and has taught me easy stretches and exercises as well as how to use the foam roller to relax muscles. Her demeanor is kind, caring and pleasant. Shahrzad is easily in the top two, maybe the best Acupuncture practitioner I have seen in the past 20 years! I've had many practitioners tell me that they can do more for my back pain than massage can, but it was seldom true. Shahrzad never made any bold claims at all. Instead, she methodically investigated my issues, laid out a theory and diagnosis, created a treatment plan, and gave me the best treatment I have ever received- all within my first 90 minute visit. She is a whole-body caregiver, and she has an unmatched intuitive sense. I have also received excellent care from Chiropractic practitioner Grant Morlock and the massage therapists. And, the office is clearly well-managed as it is easy to see them, book appointments, get reminders as you would like them and the insurance is taken care of very smoothly. It may seem unimportant, but it is really nice to go to an office wherein everything runs like a well-oiled machine. read more

After going to another chiropractic office and being oversold, over x-rayed and pressured into buying a package, Dr Morlock is a refreshing practitioner. He has helped my pain but he never pushes sessions on me. In addition, I bring in KT tape and he tapes up my back for free. He is knowledgable and supportive of complementary activities. read more

Dr Grant Morlock and the team at Asula Wellness are amazing. If you are looking for a chiropractor in Portland, Dr Morlock is the best in town. The approach to chiropractic adjustments at Asula is very different than other places I have received treatment. Dr Morlock comes in, assesses what's going on, then he has one of his body work professionals come in and massage and work some of the tension out of your muscles before he comes back in to adjust you. The result is that the adjustments are far more effective because your body is relaxed. I went for regular visits to see Dr Morlock during the five years I lived in Portland, because I was looking for a chiropractor to keep me healthy and active and to keep my spine straight and my body balanced. He did a great job for me and I highly recommend Dr Morlock and the Asula team. read more

I was referred to Asula many years ago by a friend who worked there in his vocation as an acupuncturist. Visits with him were both effective and helpful -- he was also an LMT. In the years since he left, I've not been particularly impressed by the staff at Asula, particularly in billing. My wife and I have had to field numerous billing errors including an unauthorized charge to our card by the staff, incorrectly coded billing that resulted in non-payment by insurance, and (for me, at least) uninspiring visits and advice. At some point, it's time to look elsewhere. This is that point for me. read more

I love Asula! I have been coming here for years now. The place is very clean with a nice ambiance. The chiropractors are very knowledgable & friendly. They not only put my back & neck in line but they seem concerned with my overall health as well. The masseuses there are amazing. I have gone to a handful of other places to compare & I always come back to them because they work the knots out of my back better than anyone else in this town. Unfortunately because of how awesome they are they can get booked up pretty fast but they just hired more staff to help with that....& they are totally worth the wait. read more

Unfortunately, I've had a very negative experience with Asula. I came in as a new patient and was assigned to one of the male chiropractors. From the very beginning, I felt like the chiropractor was not invested in my health and tried to rush the session. I felt like the chiropractor dismissed my pain and acted like I was not suffering since I have not been in a major accident, like some of his other patients. My second and third appointments at Asula were extremely rushed. On my second appointment I had to wait for 30 minutes because the chiropractor was running late. Same thing on my third appointment. The chiropractor then rushed through the treatment... with the third appointment lasting about five minutes. All in all, very impersonal, rushed, and generally careless service. What a lovely place. I had several Pilates sessions with Chelsea, who is awesome - super-sweet and a fun instructor. A huge draw is their sauna set-up, which I'd say is now my favorite in town. It's semi-private, so you'll never have to deal with other folks yapping away (unless they're yapping to themselves, of course) - only two folks allowed in at a time, and I actually always had it to myself. Some clothing is required, but I found I was totally comfy in a sportsbra and running shorts. You also get a private changing room with a shower, so you can hop in and out during your allotted time as you please. Although it's technically in the Pearl, it's in that slightly funky section next to Naito and they don't have any close neighbors - so parking is easy even though they don't have a lot. If I lived closer, I'd be there all the time! read more

Dr. Grant Morlock has been my chiropractic physician for the past few years. After a long history of sport injuries, car accidents in childhood, and past tomboy tomfoolery on my part, my neck and back were a mess. Dr. Grant listened attentively to my past chiropractic history (which was all good, just on another coast), and knew the right questions to ask for the type of care I would receive. After the first visit, I was able to sleep flat on my back, with my legs straight out for the first time in years. After more work, I also was able to say goodbye to pretty severe sciatica that would shoot down my leg after sitting for more than a half hour at a time. I highly recommend Asula Chiropractic and Dr. Grant in particular. I went to Asula after a car accident to correct moderate whiplash. I saw Dr. Grant for two months and my neck is feeling back to normal. Dr. Grant is professional and friendly. He always made my feel comfortable and at ease. Asula and Dr. Grant exceeded my expectations. My treatment plan included massage therapy one time per week. The massage therapists, especially Zeyah and Erica, are awesome. They understand how the muscles work, and we able to target my neck and upper back pain. The massages were extremely helpful in my recovery. They even have a sauna for use after massages. The office is a very peaceful and welcoming place to be; it is closer to a spa than a doctor's office. I thoroughly enjoyed being at Asula and will miss going there now that my treatment is finished. Finding a new chiropractor is not a fun process. As with any profession you don't know if you'll be getting the best in their field or the barely-good-enough-to-graduate type but I am a believer of this place. I've seen two doctors here and have felt great about their service. Particularly, Dr. Marie (i think) - she was one of the best chiros that I have ever seen. I tweaked a rib and a vertebrae and saw her on extremely short notice. I hadn't been to this place before and didn't do any research really - just knew that it was close and it was the only place that made an effort to squeeze me in since I was hurting pretty badly. The facility is extremely nice with a great atmosphere. I got called back and after a quick consult got adjusted with an immediate alleviation of some of the pain. A couple of days later I was feeling great. She wasn't pushy about scheduling several follow-ups or selling me back braces or whatever like we've all seen before. I was referred to Dr. Grant by a friend because I had hip issues at a young age. I am a runner and heavy lifter so after a joint specialist informed me that I had "osteoarthritis" and I should stop running I decided I had to do something different.
