Was told minimum service fee was $200. I mentioned that Apple would replace the battery for $89, expecting the low price guarantee would kick in. Was told that I should go to Apple instead as Apple sets the prices at this shop and they have no control over that. Low price guarantee out the window! To be fair it's somewhat suggested in the fine print in legalese, so don't waste your time if you're in a similar situation Only after this experience did I check Yelp. I bought an Asurion plan for a printer purchased at Staples. When it did not function properly, I followed the instructions and was promised a refund. I was never refunded. All they did was transfer me from one person to the next. I WAS NEVER REFUNDED. I provided them everything they requested but they still found a reason to say something wasn't right- although I had a store provided receipt, they said it wasn't the Original. They got paid for the policy, Staples got paid for the faulty printer, Asurion got the printer back and will probably refurbish it or used it for parts. I have NOTHING. I lost a LOT of time, and MONEY. I have the receipt, CHASE, the credit card I used, was able to look it up and verify the information. BUT ASURION REFUSED TO PAY ME BECAUSE THEY SAID THE RECEIPT I GOT FROM THE STAPLES STORE WASN'T THE ORIGINAL!!! ANYTHING TO GET OUT OF PAYING. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM COMPANY. read more

The screen on my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 was cracking at the crease after only a couple of months. This is a common problem for many owners of this phone. Contacted Samsung and they said it's under warranty, so they went ahead and sent me a list of authorized repair stores to have it fixed. This place was the nearest dealer. I was issued a ticket and a time to bring it in. So, I brought my ticket and my phone into this store at the allotted time. I explained to the person working there my situation and that I had been issued a repair ticket from Samsung. He didn't bother asking what the ticket number was as it looked like he was busy with something else (even though there were no other customers in the store), but instead quickly examined my phone. Then he says something along the lines of oh yeah, this will take a while to fix, at least four hours. And then he says, oh yeah, it's this color so I don't think we even have that color so I'll probably have to order it. And then he switches gears entirely and says, oh yeah actually we can't fix this phone because it seems to be damaged by user wear and tear and not under warranty. Sorry. Interesting. Why would Samsung even send me to this place to have it fixed when this place says they can't even fix it? It seemed like the worker there just didn't bother to care about my ticket at all and had better things to do. He never even bothered to look up my ticket order. I guess Samsung and I were completely mistaken to believe this was an authorized dealer that is supposed to fix things like cell phones. Maybe they should rename this place to UBreakIDontCare. Oh well, back to Samsung so I can find another store that actually gives a crap. read more

I came in last month because my Pixel 4a could not log onto Wi-Fi or operate any data. I tried everything, even factory reset it myself. Still didn't work. I was second in line, and the woman working just wasn't very friendly. When it was my turn, she asked what kind of phone I had and immediately said oh we don't have any screens for Pixel 4a. I told her I didn't even tell her what the problem was yet. Then I started to tell her that my phone could not operate on Wi-Fi or on data and she asked if I did a slew of things already, which I did, which also included factory reset. I told her that Google customer service told me to bring it to an authorized repair shop and this was it, this chain of stores. She was very dismissive and said no we can't fix this and I said why would Google tell me to bring it to this store then? She said I don't know and really treated me like she needed to hurry up and get me out of there, even though I came right when the store opened in the morning. The young woman would not even investigate further to diagnose what my problem would be, I felt so frustrated. She started asking me do I know what it looks like inside a Pixel 4A? I said of course not I do not repair phones. She said well it looks like this and that and they won't be able to fix this. This was the first time I ever felt like a repair store didn't want me to even be there, if that makes sense. That's how I felt through this interaction. I was so incredibly frustrated that I drove all the way to the Valley the next day to another ubreakifix store. I was treated very well and kindly at that other store and so I'm going to be doing a good review on that one next. read more

I called a week in advance to make an appointment, they made me an appointment for my local store not this one in Pasadena but the person I spoke to (super annoying on top of everything) was working at the Pasadena location. She assured me they would be able to run a diagnostic on my Fitbit to see if they could fix it and once I got to my appointment at the Duarte location they told me there was nothing they could do for me, not even diagnostic testing. After sitting through such a thorough phone call which required much patience on my end it was frustrating that they assured me the tech could at least try to fix my device or diagnose the issue. They don't want business. I made an appointment to get my ipad fixed via their website. I came in and they issued a ticket and said they'll have to order a battery as they didn't have one in house. They said they'll place an order in for their next shipment, which would be about a week. I called them about a week and half later and they said they just got their inventory in and had to check it. I didn't hear back from them, so I called them a couple days later. They said they need to check again with their manager before I come in for the repair. I never heard back again. So I called one more time and they never returned my call. I decided I didn't need this kind of run around to do their job. I took my business elsewhere (another small shop in Pasadena.) That store literally took in my ipad mid-morning, diagnosed by the evening, did the repair (they had the battery in house!) and gave it back the next day. Also the price cost less than what ubreakifix quoted me! Don't give this company the business they don't want to do. That is exactly my experience with them. read more

First time getting a phone repair and i picked the wrong place, i would not recommend this place to anyone. I went in to get my iphone screen fix, told the person in front i wanted an OEM Screen gave me an estimated cost of $199 and just took my phone and asked to come back. When i picked up the phone, the bill came out to $280+, and just explained to me that i was given the wrong estimate, if i knew the cost was this much, i would have gone straight to Apple to begin with. The Bait and switch technique, what a good business tactic. Based on the price of the repair i assumed it was an OEM Screen. But later on i realized they just replaced my screen with an overpriced cheap third-party screen which had really bad quality and was kind of pixelated when watching video or having black/dark backgrounds. The touch sensitivity was also terrible. If you google the price of the an OEM replacement part, it would seem plausible to be charge that much. But not for a Non-OEM part. So i returned the next day to have it fixed again. I explained the issues i have with the display quality of the replacement screen, and they told me the camera might be the issue for the bad display quality. I was like "are you serious????!!" That really made me question the legitimacy of this company. I should probably work here since i know how to diagnose a phone LOL I told them to reverse the repair and give me my refund and i'll take it to apple instead for $40 more, i went back to pickup my re-broken phone to this store and asked why they didnt give me an OEM screen to begin with, They told me they cannot provide me an OEM screen not unless i have insurance, which this company is owned by *bells ringing"* we have a winner. ASSurance, i see what you did there , a lot of misleading information and shady stuff seriously, But then it gets really interesting. Took my phone and went straight to the nearest Apple store and gave them my phone to get fixed. Waited an hour and then was given the bad news that majority of the parts of my iphone are not made by apple and refuses to repair it. Note: This is actually the first time i ever got this phone repaired and i preordered this phone when it came out. its not a refurbished phone. Hmmm a little switcharoo might have happened i see.. im not trying to make accusations here, but if you read my post from the beginning you would think the same. I know my story sounds kinda crazy but it did happen. I instead went to a small phone repair shop instead and paid way less than what this establishment is charging. And got a legit better quality screen replacement and fast repair time, got it back in less than 20 minutes . I had such a great experience with Layla and she saved me a ton of money!! Layla is honest, communicative, knowledgeable, efficient, and truly a spectacular person to work with. I broke my Samsung S10+ screen that I was still paying on. Verizon informed me it would be over $250 to fix it with insurance since the screen was half black they assumed there was internal damage. They didn't have any promotional discounts to offer. The only discount they presented was the same phone but pre-certified (it was new but returned within 30-days). I gladly accepted considering newer Samsung phones were approximately $1000. Needless to say, the pre-certified was crap so I decided to bring it here and pay approximately the same amount that insurance would have offered me to have it fixed immediately. Layla instantly greeted me upon entering the store with an upbeat and bubble personality. She's one of those people you like instantly. After looking at my phone she confirmed that the issue was only the screen, and it would not be $250 but rather $30. That's a huge saving!!! Layla instructed me on how to process the claim easily and what my next steps were. I ran into a few minor issues due to insurance notating my pre-certified cell's IMIE number instead of the broken one but that got resolved easily. Layla and I stayed in touch during the entire process. I am excited to say I have my old phone back in perfect condition along with all those lost photos that I neglected to save. I get that they need to be able to track the items but these stickers are very hard to remove. I had to use vegetable oil on both of the SoundDocks. I would not recommend this store for anything other than a cracked cell phone screen. I dropped off 2 laptops for a routine clean up. 1 was supposedly serviced and the other wasn't since I did not give them the right passcode. I returned about a month later with the passcode and a hard drive for data to be moved so I could gift it to a family member. When I picked it up finally there was 5 buttons broken. The manger was super apologetic and said they had 2 or 3 buttons already in stock and she would order the rest. Then she offered to help with another item that I was going to drop off. Boy was this a mistake. I went in today and 3 more buttons were broke on the laptop and they never looked at the Nintendo DS. The store didn't even log that they took it so the representative was yelling descriptions of Nintendo's from the back. The rep couldn't even assist with a formal complaint nor knew the knowledge of protocol with a product is damaged so she gave me the corporate number. I call corporate to file a complaint and all that they offered was mediation of the situation. Not another retailer or money for damages. They informed me that I had to wait until the next day for a resolution since the manager of the store didn't work until the next day. I've been trying to get this done since September ! They said I didn't answer the phone for the repair and I have no missed calls. I even left my email the last time I dropped off the laptop for the missing buttons. No emails! All I can say about uBreakiFix service is WOW! I have an IPad that was freezing up and I took it to them for a repair. Francisco and others worked on it for over an hour and did a fantastic repair job plus adding two icons that had disappeared plus giving me great advice about repairing versus purchasing a new iPad. The waiting area at their shop is very small so other customers had to wait outside during the Covid 19 pandemic, while they were working on my iPad. My phone screen has had a crack in it for quite awhile, but I figured it wasn't significant enough to warrant the cost of a replacement. Lo and behold, Samsung offered a wonderful discount for health care workers to get their screens replaced on the cheap through uBreakiFix so I had to seize the opportunity. It was super easy to book an appointment online and stop by the location to drop off my phone. They asked if they had another phone number or email they could contact me with to let me know when the service was done, however, I had no other means of communication other than the phone I had just dropped off. They estimated that it would be done in about two hours so that was when I returned. It took a bit longer than anticipated but the wait wasn't bad at all. The service was great and my phone is as good as new. Completely satisfied with the work done by this location and would recommend to anyone looking to get their phone fixed. read more

So, I broke my daughter's Nintendo Switch. Plugged in a phone adapter to charge it.... (not a good idea) and the switch will no longer charge. I called UBreakiFix to see if they could fix the issue... They said yes and to bring it in. The only thing was if it did not require additional parts I would just be required to pay for labor. I make the drive in traffic, only to be told by some brutish individual, with ZERO customer service skills or even plain courtesy, that they cant fix it, and "it's too hard". This was after he looked at it for 15 sec and said it was the charging port. He stated that uBreakiFix is not capable of fixing Nintendo Switch charging ports. "Too hard for them" They should have mentioned this over the phone. Driving in traffic, wasting gas, and dealing with poor customer service, when all was completely avoidable is the reason for the 1 star. read more
