I should've listened to the reviews, but I normally like to see for myself. Shouldn't have done that. Don't come to this location unless you want your phone broken. Trust me, you are going to regret it. This pos chubby Asian dude with long hair who looks like he lives in his mom's basement masterbating all night and day to hentai was the rep who serviced me. My wife's phone has a dead pixel which ended up with a pink line across the screen. I looked it up and found it to be a known issue. For that reason, Google extended it's warranty for 3 years and provided free replacements. I had the option to either send it to Google for service or take it in to these dealers. I didn't want to be out of a phone for a week, so I decided to take it in. At first he tried to blame a scratch on the screen for a crack and saying how it might not be covered which was bs. Mofo thinks I'm dumb and blind. You're the one wearing glasses, not me! I don't care what your profession is. I ain't blind and I know what a god damn scratch is compared to a crack. So after "speaking" to his manager, they decided to provide the service and that it would be 100% covered. The replacement took about 1.5 hrs. So I went out to eat and came back to pick up the phone. The phone worked fine and my wife was happy. No more annoying pink line across the screen. She has a pixel 8 btw. It was only 2 years old. Never had any other issues until that following night when the battery was getting low. We tried charging it, but it wouldn't charge. Tried multiple cables. When the phone finally died that night. We tried charging again and once again it wasn't charging. It kept giving us the exclamation symbol. I used 5 different outlets. 5 different cords. Tried the USB port on the pc. I was even desperate and tried charging it in the car. Multiple power banks. Nothing worked! So 2 days later when I finally had time, I brought it back. The same hentai watching Asian dude with messy hair who looked like he just got outta bed was there. I told him the problem. He said it must be the battery now. I told him we never had any battery issues until the screen was replaced, but nope, it was our fault that the phone wasn't charging. I said maybe something became loose when you guys opened up the phone. He said nope, that's impossible and gave more bs about how the screen doesn't connect to this battery compartment and it's impossible for the screen replacement to effect the battery. Well mofo, this issue only started after you guys replaced the god damn screen. How is it not your fault and yet, you're blaming it on me and the phone? Lazy pos didn't even want to look at it. Let's say after a car wash, the interior of your car is wet. Could it be the car wash that caused it?? Hmmm or could it be that you just pissed on yourself when you saw a Pokémon because you gotta catch them all. I decided to leave since I figured it wasn't getting anywhere and I can't win an argument against someone who has cyber sex in his mom's basement all day while chatting with his Sim city girlfriends. Thankfully I contacted Google and they were willing to take the phone in and replaced the battery for me and now everything works wonderfully again. I don't break my phone or screens often, actually, the very least out of all my friends. I have only cracked my glass twice, and the actual screen underneath the glass, once, out of all the phones I've had. This last visit (2/24/26) was for my S23 Ultra, for which I cracked the glass and the screen underneath it. The touch responsiveness was damaged, the screen started to leak where it was damaged, etc. I've been to this location twice before for repairs, and the first time, which was 2 years ago, the service was horrible. I was sent between 3 stores for the repair of a cracked glass. I went from UbreakIfix in Montclair, who sent me to Duarte, then eventually, I had to go to the Samsung Store in Glendale. For some reason, it was a huge hassle just for my screen glass. It was a mission to get a simple glass replaced. When I broke my screen this time around, and the Samsung CarePlus sent me to Duarte UbreakIFix, I was a little disappointed because of the run around I got between the Montclair and Duarte UbreakIfix locations before (I was thinking, "Oh, great. This store again?"). But to my surprise, the two Asian guys who were working here yesterday took care of my phone in a timely manner. Soon as I got in the store, he took my phone in, etc. He took about 5 minutes to register my phone, etc,. He told me the repair will be done at 6:00 PM. I came back at 6:00 PM, and sure enough, my phone was ready. The phone worked perfectly fine after the repair, etc. This visit was definitely the opposite experience I had a few years ago at the same location. I do not recommend bringing your Fold devices here for screen protector replacements. Initially everything seemed good. I was instructed to wait an hour before opening and closing my phone which I followed only find minor dust and bubbles under the film. Normally wouldn't care but there was one right in the center of the display so I asked for it to be redone. They said they're not a dust free store and it'd be a one time replacement which is fine. Followed the same instructions as before and it looked fine out the store but an hour later turned out worse than the previous attempt. To be fair, the store was held up in some red tape and although my phone was fixed. The manufacturer wouldn't release it for other reasons. So I don't want to hold the fact that my phone isn't fixed against them. Ok, now that I got that out of the way. Lets discuss their idea of service. Dropped off my phone at a store an hour away because they were the only ones with the part. So I decided to wait the 2 hours. Got back to the store and was told it was done but there was an error code and they had to wait for authorization to release the phone. So I was told to wait, another hour goes by and I was able to stop one of their workers before he left the store; he said "Oh yah, that takes at least 4 hours" So were they going to have me just sit and wait all day without saying a word? They were not apologetic at all and had a "well tough, deal with it" demeanor about it all. So I left.. Later that day, I called and was told the phone was released. So the next morning I head out. Having a weird feeling about it. I call them to be sure and yes, it was indeed ready. Or so we thought, half way there (again 1 hour drive) someone calls me back and tells me. They couldn't release it so they put the old broken screen back on. I decide to bail, and go back early Sunday morning (they open at noon) to pick it up since I had another appointment in the area anyway. I was already familiar with this business, and I was pleasantly surprised how close they are located to where I live. My girlfriend accidentally dropped her phone during a recent Las Vegas trip. Despite having a screen protector and case, it seemed to have landed at a specific angle that caused it to have the dreaded flickering display screen. Although she had most of her critical information and data saved to a cloud, she was now unable to navigate anything with no functional display. She first brought it to the Pasadena location for service, but they didn't seem to have the expertise or experience to find the actual issue causing the problems. They attempted to fix it, but we realized later that they were just stumped. As a result, one option they recommended was replacing it with a brand new device. They said their location only had one of the necessary parts required to fix it. Turns out that part was defective or damaged. On top of having waited about a week to even have an appointment to see them, they said it would require an additional week to get the part before starting repairs on it. They also said the cost of repairs would surpass the cost of a new phone. We sought out for a second opinion. We then contacted this location in Duarte. Calling them to set up an appointment was easy and didn't require a week's wait. In fact, there wasn't any actual wait, luckily. We showed up and gave them the rundown of everything that happened up to that point. Upon initial inspection, they noticed work had already been started on it, and phone was actually worse off than before. We were asked where it was taken prior. We answered UbreakIfix in Pasadena, and it all immediately made sense, as if they were already aware without any further explanation. It only took them about an hour to fix, as they also had plenty of that part needed to get it fixed. Not only did they get my girlfriend's phone fixed. They managed to fix the problems caused by the Pasadena location's attempt at fixing it. And all for a fraction of the cost and trouble of getting a new phone and/or sticking with the other location. We tested it to make sure it was fixed by calling it with my phone, and all was well. Lesson to us: bring our phone issues to the Duarte location first for better chances at success. Parking: Plenty. Scheduled an appointment but should have arrived much earlier because there was a 5-person line and only 1 person at the counter, which is fair for a weekend. Screen repair for a Google Pixel 5a was a little bit more expensive than shipping it to Google, but with the $10 off (WELCOME10, found on the ubreakifix website), it was about the same price and the phone was ready after an hour. You take the car to the mechanic, who runs a series of test until he/she finds the problem, and then informs you what the repair must be and the cost. On May 15, 2023, my PS5 "bricked" on me. In other words, it stopped working. It would turn on, but after the first beep, the console froze, showing on a black screen on the OLED. Through the UbreakIfix's website, I was told that they did repairs on gaming consoles (which included PS5s). I had to make an appointment through the website, which was at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 17th. I showed up at the scheduled time and was greeted by one of UbreakIfx's employees. I told the gentleman that I made an appointment to have my PS5 "looked at" because it had stopped working. He stated that he would take a look at it, claiming the dust had probably blocked the fans or power source. Even though I disagreed, I told him to take a look if he wanted to. After a few minutes of shining his "tech flashlight" into the unit, he stated that my PS5 was one of the cleaner ones he has seen (again, which is something I already knew). The gentleman stated that they would have to take a closer look at the console and do a "diagnostic test" to determine the problem, but then stated that all of this would take 3 WEEKS since the repair shop (or whatever they call it) was so "backlogged". Although I couldn't imagine someone bringing in their IPhone or other smartphone and going without it for 3 weeks because of this backlog, and I couldn't imagine that they had that many gaming consoles to diagnose, but I submitted. Maybe they were that backlogged? The gentleman took my PS5 and gave me my claim receipt. Fast forward 6 weeks. A UbreakIfix employee called my wife and informed her that they determined (after 6 weeks) that the problem with my PS5 was its power source, which needed to be replaced at the cost of a little over $200.00. My wife said, "Fine, fix it and let us know when we can pick it up." The employee said, "We have to order the part, and we can't do that until you make a deposit of $80.00 to $100.00 dollars. Then we order the part." "How long will that take?" my wife asked. "It takes 7 to 10 business days to get parts, and then once we get the part, a few days to install the part." So, taking into account of making the deposit, and then waiting for the part to ship, and then installing the part, it was going to be a minimum of another 2 weeks before I would have my PS5. Yet, we were already in it for this long, so might as well see it to the end. A few days after the phone call, my wife and I drove down to UbreakIfix and slapped a hundred dollar bill on the counter while the employee tried to find my order (which took about 10 minutes since it seemed it was not listed). After some small talk, the employee found my work order, took my money, gave me a receipt, and reminded me that it would take about "10 days" to get the part. I simply nodded, feeling defeated, and left the store. On July 10th, my wife received a call from UbreakIfix. She was told that the problem with the PS5 wasn't the power source and that they didn't know what was wrong, and therefore, they couldn't fix the PS5. We needed to pick up the console. A few days later, we drove down to UbreakIfix and I reclaimed my "bricked" PS5, as well as my $100.00 refund. The approximate 8-week ordeal was over, and with no happy ending. My problems with this whole fiasco was that it took approximately 8 weeks for this "electronic repair shop" to tell me they could not repair my PS5, even though their supposed "diagnostic test" determined that the problem was the power source. Frankly, what I think really happened is that my PS5 was overlooked by the staff until one day someone said, "Hey, whose PS5 is this?" After that, they simply guessed that the problem was the power source, and went from there. My experience with UbreakIfix was a complete waste of time. Although they are not responsible for my PS5 breaking down, the complete befuddled waste of time could have been avoided. Perhaps they are good at fixing smartphones, but this place is totally at a lost when it comes to repairing consoles. P.S. UbreakIfix uses permanent adhesive stickers on your equipment to identify it. These stickers do not come off easily and end up permanently marking your equipment. read more

This is my second visit to the Duarte store and it was just as pleasant as the first. Both visits involved the screen on my iPhone. The first time it was broken and needed to be replaced. This time, my iPhone was "ghosting" which means it was basically trying to run itself. It was opening folders, opening apps, trying to determine my login (scary), and turning on my screen recorder. The last allowed me to show them exactly what was happening. I was leaving for a tech conference in the morning and really needed it fixed before they closed today. Imagine leading the tech training and not being able to use my own iPhone?! The jokes would roll ... but thanks to the Duarte uBreakiFix it was ready in a little over an hour. Be aware that if a tech from this location irreparably damages your phone during an on-site appointment, this location won't take accountability and isn't beholden to corporate because they're a franchise. What should have been a $90 screen replacement at my office cost me $600 to replace a ruined phone. I've been told it's impossible to get reimbursement. I'm in Pasadena and used the ubreakifix website to schedule a tech appointment at my office for a cracked iPhone 7 screen. The tech Steven was apparently sent from this location. On arrival, he failed to fix the screen and caused internal damage that made the phone inoperable. Using my office phone I called the location manager Nelson and got a Kafka-esque runaround. They couldn't send another tech. They had no more appointments and were closed the next day. When they could fit me in, I would be required to drive all the way to them, leave the phone, and wait potentially a week or more to see if they could get an iPhone 7 replacement. No apologies. No care for the inconvenience this put me in. No real acknowledgment that for most of us our phones connect us to work and are our only means of communication, method for getting transportation or getting help in emergencies. I took time off work to go to the Pasadena location. They declared the phone 100% inoperable and unrepairable. But because they're corporate and Duarte is a franchise they couldn't help more. I could not take more time from my work day and I could not go days without a phone. When the franchise failed to give me a reasonable resolution I had to go to Apple at the end of the day to get a replacement- the cheapest phone I could, and out of pocket. After calls with the franchise and with the corporate office, the result is the same. The corporate office has no say over the franchise. The franchise refuses to reimburse the new phone. The franchise will only - maybe - get me a refurbished iPhone 7 if I waste my time and money driving out to them to leave it. Utterly useless. Consumers beware. Save your time and money and just go to Apple. read more

This was unfortunate from start to finish. We brought my daughter's iPhone in for a screen repair. Estimate for repair online was 45 minutes. On arrival, we were told it would be 2 hours and that 'it's never 45 minutes' and that they didn't know why the website said that. Over 2 hours later, we hadn't received a text from them, so we just went back to the shop. They did fix the screen. They also broke the Touch ID. To be fair, after going back and forth with both the franchise assistant manager and the corporate customer service folks for the next week, they did offer to try to fix what they had broken. However by this point: * We'd already taken it to Apple who told us it was irreparable * My daughter was adamant that she didn't want them touching her phone again and perhaps breaking something else. Since they offered to look and we refused, I won't give them one star. In addition, the management who tried to assist were very nice. But: * They broke the phone * They charge more than Apple for the same part * Wait time was grossly underestimated Also? Apple offered to replace her phone for free. Ah, I feel bad for knocking down my rating. The staff who helped me replace my phone's battery was friendly. Alas, I started enduring problems with my phone about three to four months after coming here. My phone's display screen (see photos) popped off the metal frame. I took it to a local repair shop in Berkeley, and the technician diagnosed the issue as a swollen battery. I was right next to this technician when he opened up my phone, took out the uBreakiFix installed battery, and let me hold it. It had expanded its width by about half an inch. He said that third party batteries used by some shops aren't great, and that these batteries can swell some time after being installed. I was disappointed because I wasn't even able to make it through half a year with the battery replacement Duarte's uBreakiFix put in for me. I don't blame the staff here though, but rather the supplier that provides these batteries for the store. The phone's lightning port still works, so I'm glad that is holding up. As I said before, the staff here is professional and hospitable but I would recommend you go elsewhere to get your phone repaired as I've now had issues at two separate uBreakiFix stores. read more

When I come in I was told they are out of the battery. Why not tell me that before I drive all the way to your store. Then I'm told they will call me when the part comes in. Two weeks later after dozens of calls they finally answer the phone to say they still haven't received the part. Looks like atleast a few more days until they can even start the work! I recently had my Mac Mini go out on me so after finding out that the Geek Squad was ill equipped, but they sent me to the UbreakIFix in Duarte CA. I was told that they handle everything; soldering, the whole bit, and also handle MACs. Great! So I left it after being told that it would be 5 days before a tech could get to it. My problem was it wasn't starting up; my machine would power down midway through the boot after having displayed drastcially reduced HD access speeds the previous days. I figured something on the motherboard, which would be okay by me as long as my precious data on the HD was safe. 5 days later I get a message from a guy named 'Chad'. "I got your computer booting up to a point but to fix it I need to WIPE your hard drive. Do I have permission?" Now, the words 'wipe' and 'data' should NEVER be uttered in the same sentence by ANYONE that claims to be a tech. So I hoofed it over there in person (their phone was down), and spoke with Chad. First off, he looked no older that 15 (peach-fzz upper lip, nothing to shave on the chin, hair that screams adolescence, and his voice cracked once as we were talking) and he was their chief Mac "expert". He said it's a software issue that could be cleared up by a reformat. Keeping my anger in check, I told him "You can transfer the data to a different hard drive." He said "but we can't boot it up." So, I replied, either slave the machine to another booting machine or take OUT the hard drive and make it an excternal to a working maching then data transfer. That seemed beyond his comprehension, and I swear in one sentence he kept changing his tune three times until he ended with, "We have to order a new hard drive, you need to give a $100 deposit." Okay, I'm desperate. So they order and I wait. And wait. And wait. I had to call in myself for any updates (they never called me again), until I found out that after the loooong wait the new HD was defective so they had to send it back for a new one. Then that arrived and they stuck it in and you know what happened? Nothing. The new HD was good but the motherboard was having problems... you know, like I tried to tell them... AND the old hard drive may also have been bad (or the controller leading up to it, still not sure myself, but that would explain why the new one wasn't working), either way meaning that wiping my hard drive would NOT have gotten anything done except maybe made me guilty of assaulting a Minor. Now, I write books for a living, and had been without a machine for three weeks at this point, going on four. I had client data on that machine, and lots of other important stuff, not to mention it is key to earning a living (like with the three-book client I had just nailed down hours before my mahine went out). This is NOT simply my game machine. I also should mention at this point that I've been around computers since the 70s, and while my expertise lies in a different system, the idea of troubleshooting is all the same. Oh, and I have a Masters in Physics, so I'm kinda smart. Chad and his renegade compu-squirrels were great at having a high opinion of themselves but very much deficient when it came to knowing which end of a multimeter is up. They never tested the old drive as an external in another machine, their entire diagnoistic consisted of booting up with the 'Option/Alt' key pressed then running the default recovery utility (which I could have done had I know that was the magic key to use; every computer platform has one) and that was it. So, I took back my computer and my deposit, and eventually ended up at Di-No. They had it working in TWO days. How, you ask? Just like I knew was possible, just like every compu-knowledgable friend I knew had said, by formatting an external drive, booting off it, then watching the internal drive come up as a read-only drive and start moving all my files across, and for less cash than the UBreakItStaysBroken people were going to charge (no data-recovery required, just the far-simpler data-transfer). I now boot off that external drive (and the tech at Di-No said to come back to have my machine refurbished when I can part with it for a few days- a feat which UBreakIBreak insisted was impossible). UBreak said it was irreparable, and suggested I would need a data-recovery specialist (well, technically this was suggested by Apple Store whom I briefly went to next, as the Broken people apparently didn't even know enough to see this as a possibility). At every turn they suggested I just give up hope and trash it, they cost me a MONTH of my time, and basically threatened to end my livelihood with their antics. If you can't handle something, the first words out of your mouth should be "Not our strong point, but might we recommend the following shop...," not "Hey, our chief Mac Tech can wipe your hard drive for you as soon as he finishes his algebra homework." Beware of this location. Came in to repair my iPhone 11 shattered screen, I was referred here by Asurion so I felt my phone would be in good hands boy was I wrong. My phone was ready in an hour and a half after I brought it in. At first everything seemed good and normal so I left. Once I attempted to make a call low and behold my microphone is not functioning correctly as well as my speaker. I would leave a negative star if I could. I hate leaving bad reviews but this ones well deserved. I left my phone with these guys on a Monday, and was promised a simple front and back replacement. They stated it would be done in 4 days. Are they building a new phone from scratch?!? I left my phone and called them on Friday 11am. The guy told me that its not done yet and I should check back later. When I called back 5hrs later at 4pm, the guy asked "are u the guy who called earlier? Please hold" 8mins later he comes back online and tells me that they broke the back glass and have to order a new one. They need 4 more days. I went to pick up my phone. They tapped the back of my phone because they cracked it when they opened it. So, I got my phone back in worse condition than when I broght it in! This place should be called UBreakWeMakeItWorse. Called back to check if they got the part in and they again told me...backnof the line, theres a 4 day queue. FOUR days to replace covers?! Really?!? Horrible customer service. I don't really get the customer service. Waited in the front room for a minute or two and no one helped me. I called the business from inside and the guy who was sitting in the back answered the phone right away. Asked me a few questions and said they'd have it repaired in a few days. He told me to come by anytime to drop it off and I said I was inside the store (like 20ft from him) hahaha. I was within ear shot. After hanging up he didn't come to the front. I walked to the back and told him I was ready to drop off and he said he'd be right with me. Went back to the front waited 5min then just left. read more

I went there to get the screen replaced on my Lenovo 710 Yoga they got all the information and one year later they never ordered it. My screen has been bad for so long I purchased a small HP and went there on 11-22-2021 so they could do a data transfer from the Lenovo to the HP they said it would be ready the next day it wasn't ready until today one week later. They deleted all my data from the HP my files folders everything and they then removed the hard drive from the Lenovo and created a folder that says old drive put it on the desktop on the HP and that was it. All the files and folders are empty s ask my marketing materials are gone. Then to top it off they lost my cable when I asked for they took the laptop to the back and couldn't find it the tech said go home and see if it's there the same tech that told me to leave it. Then he said I'll buy you another turn around and went back to the back of the store never asked for my name or anything then I had to pay for this by being asked to join something they offer for repairs. Apparently the phone companies they work with are not up to date with their hours. It is listed on yelp that they are open on Sunday, Verizon said they were open and made an appointment for me, I got an email confirmation of said appointment, and I get there and there is a sign that states that they are closed on Sundays. There were other customers there that were told they were open. Just added more stress to an already stressful day. read more

Went online, made an appointment, for my Motorola phone. Received an email confirming the appointment, to replace the screen on my Motorola. Arrived a few minutes before they opened to be first in. When they opened they told me they do not work on Motorola. When I asked why they would make an appointment for a Motorola, their response was "it must have been corporate". Never again! read more
