Update: Note: please see my photos: I am not blowing smoke. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/PGqvzqzCwhEvR4GAArxuiQ?userid=8Z8xo40Ymkrokv4CXLIMSQ If you don't have the ability to maintain a sufficient infrastructure, don't offer internet. That's what AT&T is doing even though they have not upgraded their ability to handle cell phone traffic. After moving to Miami Beach, I was forced with the decision of selecting an internet service provider. This decision was extremely important to me since I work from home full time out of New York City. In essence - having a internet service that works is part of my very livelihood. I spent almost a month with a connection that failed to load images properly, cut me off from instant message conversations and takes hours to download songs and podcasts. This is unacceptable in 2012. (see images of AT&T). I called up the AT&T customer service line. When I signed up for this "service" I got right through. When I needed technical help it took me about 40 minutes on hold and being transferred to get to the right person. He told me that there could be a possible issue with my modem and offered to send me a new one.. Shockingly that took a week and a half. When I connected the new ( really not so new re-furbished) modem, I got large red flashing lights indicating to me that there was a problem. It DID NOT WORK. I had to dis-connect it and re-connect the other sub-par modem. I am now back to using the other modem with absolutely no improvement in my internet connection. I am sure that if I called them again, it would take another 2 weeks to get me a new modem. By that time I will be pass my 30 day grace period to cancel service. I am canceling this service. It is horrible. If you are even thinking about getting AT&T U-verse - do NOT do it. This experience has taught me how large corporations like AT&T have absolutely no corporate responsibility - and through advertising are able to persuade the public to use them. Do not do it.

There really needs to be an option for 0 star. Paying for internet and having terrible wifi in your home is At&t.

When the building obtained service through another carrier it included internet so I canceled my Xfinity service. Xfinity sent me a bill for $201.25 for a cancellation fee. Cancellation fee? I never signed a contract or agreed to a contract. Now, since I have not paid that fee they sent the amount due to collections and it dropped my credit score by 38 points. This company takes advance of people. Has everyone else experienced this with Xfinity as I am considering speaking to an attorney regarding filling a class action lawsuit.

However, my vote for the absolute worst company is Xfinity also known as Comcast. Xfinity provided the worst customer support, if you can even reach them by phone which is a nightmare in and of itself. If you choose to leave a message for them to call you back instead of holding on for two hours listening to the same 8 bars of musical drivel, good luck, because you probably won't get that call back in your lifetime. But it gets worse, much worse. When my development switched phone service and wifi to Hot Wire in December, Xfinity still charged me for the services I was NO longer receiving even though I TOLD them to end the service. I still had Xfinity cable tv. It was a real pain in the you know what, but I finally went to the Xfinity store and straightened it out with them. Xfinity owed ME money but they would only give me credit, NOT a refund of money. I would have been ripped off and I'm sure lots of their former customers have been ripped off by giving them credit they can't possibly collect because .... they no longer have their service. Fortunately, or unfortunately for me, I still had Xfinity cable tv service so the credit was eventually used. But ... When my development went with Hot Wire completely, and Hot Wire offered tv services, the contract with Xfinity was terminated. I paid what I hoped would be my LAST Xfinity bill and returned all their equipment to the Xfinity store. Finally, I thought the nightmare was over. Not so fast Pilgrim. I continued to get BILLS from them even though my service was now completely terminated and the equipment returned. It is now March 20 and I got yet another bill for $34. Beware. Xfinity is like a case of malignant tuberculosis with malaria on top. I told my bank not to pay any requests for money from Xfinity. So far so good.

Watch over the installation, make sure they are not taking shortcuts and walaaaaaaa. TV is working perfectly. This is a third party contracted through Dish to sell on their behalf, they are a small family-run company. If you have an issue with the products they are selling, complain to HQ. Now their service is also straightforward, you go in you come out. They are not going to hold your hand through the process. The equipment sells itself if you want your handheld to go through a bigger distributor. If you inherited equipment from a previous tenant, landlords problem. If a car is left on a property you inherited, do you call the manufacture to come and clean it up or the person that sold it to the previous tenant. Anyways, great people great service.

I rent and the landlord has asked me to remove it, even though the previous tenant is responsible for service I presume. I contacted DISH and was told they could do nothing about it by every person, and phone number I called. It gets me thinking that if you actually have DISH service you can probably expect the same terrible service. The retailer was very uncooperative and wanted to charge me a fee of $29.99 for its removal. They said they could "care less" about getting their equipment back. Well I suppose they also could "care less" about their customers as well. The customer service line including the supervisor was also very rude and even made a sassy remark. Jessica said "your not a customer so I don't give a damn." Her name is Jessica code 34Y. I pity anybody who ends up speaking to her. Clearly Dish network needs to invest in some employee training programs for customer service if they want to continue profiting. As for me I will remove it and trash it maybe uploading a hysterical video destroying the thing to youtube if time permits. As awful as everyone says Comcast is, I have never had any issues and only polite generous customer service. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". I have seen the advertisements and cheap satellite = crappy customer service.
