Sadly, the Band-Aid did not work and within five minutes of my technician leaving my cable was out again. I called and Spectrum sent someone out this morning. And in two hours. My cable was back on. Cable companies get a bad rap for a variety of reasons. We initially came in to pick up a phone we had ordered and were informed that ID verification was required before it could be released. That part was completely reasonable. However, instead of helping us resolve the issue or directing us to the correct corporate location that could assist, the associate immediately dismissed us, stating that he "didn't have the order," and refused to provide any further guidance. At the time, we were unaware that this was not a corporate store, and while that misunderstanding may be on us, it does not excuse the way we were treated. A professional response would have been to calmly explain the situation and point us in the right direction. Instead, the associate became visibly agitated that we were even there, which escalated the situation unnecessarily. The situation worsened when he began speaking to my mother in a hostile and disrespectful manner, ultimately telling her to leave the store. His tone and behavior were completely inappropriate. No customer should be treated that way for simply asking for assistance. From the refusal to help, to the hostile interaction, to the misuse of personal contact through a private phone, this experience was unacceptable from start to finish.
