I mentioned this to him, his response was that "he hadn't seen the Face ID work before working on the phone" which meant "he couldn't do anything for me" I mentioned to him that I myself had experience handling electronics (IPhone 7s, IPhone XR) all of which I replaced screens for me and friends 2x, I suggested to him had he turned off the phone before replacing the screen? His response " I took the screen off then unplugged the battery" this answered my question for why the Face ID on my phone which was now no longer working.
