We came here tonight in search of a new cellphone and left empty handed, getting yelled at and hurled with much disrespect from their insolent sorry-for-an-excuse sales representative. The sale was going good for a while, and we were even moments from purchasing the new phone. And then he mentions to us right before the sale that we were required to purchase mandatory insurance with the phone, which would spike the cost of the phone up. This is information that should have been stated earlier in the sale. When my boyfriend expressed that it felt like we were being strong-armed into buying something that we didn't ask for, the "sales representative" immediately became defensive, got very hostile started yelling at us and demanded that we leave the store. He even had the nerve to tell my boyfriend that he would sell the phone to us if my boyfriend apologized. The "sales representative" then called his manager, of who did absolutely nothing to correct his behavior. It was an absolute awful experience. Went there to buy 2 Apple Watches and the nightmare started. 1. 1 hour - Bought it and the guy sold it to me didn't activate it 2. 2 Hours on the phone with Att representative- they could even talk English 3. 2 hours - Went back to the store to fix the issue - the guy couldn't fix the issue 4. Called manager and he basically told me to go to Apple to fix the issue - the watch is a day old. Told him to replace the watch, he said $55 restocking fee per watch - even when it was bad from day 1, then he hung the phone on me. The worst customer service! read more

Had a good experience with Joe in the past. Recently came into the store. Joe is a good man and tried to help again. He is a great employee and this review has nothing to do with him personally. I can tell he cares about providing customers with excellent service but his hands are tied by Att. If you have an issue with ATT and you go to a retail store you will hear crickets. In the past ATT would go out of their way to waive upgrade fees, negotiate bill issues, or do things so that the customer feels listened to. Att should replace their store and employees with vending machines. All they do is sell products now, they will not provide customer service. Employees cannot give credits, make changes or do much about anything. But they can sell you a new phone, make you a SIM card, or Sign you up for services. My phone service has been messed up for years and I have tried to get a resolution. My phone was shut off without any warning, yesterday, and I could not even dial *611. My multiple lines were turned off, and with everything going on this could have been life threatening. I have tried answering surveys from att, contacting att cares on twitter, going to retail stores, calling *611, etc. I could not make a payment over the phone, I had to personally go into the store, which had been closed due to Covid. ATT is not the same company it used to be. They only care about the bottom line and not helping customers. Try to ask for a credit, they will say they cannot do it. Ask for a store Manager, they will not have that info. Ask for a general manager, they will not provide a number. Ask for a district manager they will tell you they don't have that info, but they come by randomly. Ask them to leave your concern in the notes, they will say they are not supposed to leave notes because they can be misconstrued. Show them a large payment from your credit card on your banks app (not just a screenshot) they cannot confirm it in their system. Ask them about previous years bills, well you have a different account number we can't see 2019. Ask them about how att cares said they will not shut off service to people effected by Covid-19, they will tell you that that program is no longer offered. Have an issue, spend a long time on calls with their employees, mostly out of state or country, who are unable to do anything because corporate will not allow it. Att is great until you have an issue. Then it becomes pass the buck until the customer gives up or switches cell phone service. I don't need a store employee saying we will look into this, we care, etc. or responding to this message to make it look like they are helpful. Ask them to adjust the bill, waive a fee, ask for a store manager, district manager, general manager, or help you with an issue with your account and leave an honest review here like I did. PS, check out how they have the same amount of 4 star reviews as they do with 1 star. Also virtually all of the 5 star reviews are left my people with only one review... Called yesterday to ask about their $230 iPhone se. They told me no problem just come in. We made a 1:00 appointment. I was hoping Yelp would allow Zero star or negative rating. I run a home health business and were shopping for better Service and Rates to switch our multiple employees phone Service at work as well as our bundled internet Service which currently is not an AT&T customer. Sending my colleague Joel ( he"s our best in communication when it comes to business decisions) just to be met with a very disrespectful Mr Daniel Freese. Mr Freese went out of his way to be extra arrogant and rude. We are also in the customer service business providing home health to Ill client at their home and I can assure you that employing people like Mr Freese is a sure and fastest way to turn active and prospective client away from AT&T. Waited to have ATT ship them at different times and brought phones in and was told I had 30 days to bring phones in and had lost my credit completely. Called ATT while in the store and was told by phone reps "you should go to an ATT store." Ha. These guys were hiding in their break room. ATT did send me labels but this also got messed up as my phones were sent to "the wrong warehouse" per ATT. My 90 year old father was paying way too much for 2 mobile phones, cable and a land line. I told him I would join him at the store and see what better deal we could get. I made an appointment online and waited less than 5 minutes when we got to the store. We were warmly greeted by a sales associate. She was patient, (dad is hard of hearing), listened and was understanding. Set my dad up with a new iPhone , t.v subscription and cellular phone in place of the home# landline. I might be biased as I absolutely HATE Comcast, so I had good feelings about this. Was trying to get my daughter added to my plan and dump Comcast and the manager, Garret Minaglia, and another guy working there, Joe Rosson, were UNBELIEVABLY helpful and patient. The process of getting everything set up was not quick, but it was no fault of theirs. It was on the web site side of things. Nevertheless, they helped navigate a tricky -- completely counter intuitive -- web site (and I'm no Luddite) and get me what I needed. These guys know what they are doing and are not just corporate shills. Zero aggressive "upsell" tactics. Gave me what I needed and helped me get it. I cannot speak more highly of two people who's lives are mainly CSR and tech support for the tech challenged. I hope that the store and/or AT&T Corporate advances these guys up the ladder. Top Notch! I initially gave a good rating on the day the serviceman was here installing the NEW WiFi broadband boxes but I'm now very disappointed in the TV service I'm getting from AT&T. I wish I had looked around for other services first. New WiFi was installed but the TV service is extremely confusing. I can only watch 2 out 3 TVs, cannot record, can't rewind when I want to revisit the program I'm watching, have to use 2 remotes on one of the TVs, and I have to buy another FireStick remote for the 3rd Television! Hector did a great job getting us going last spring. Unfortunately, he - along with Noor, have repeatedly ignored my requests to review my monthly bill. I know that I am being overcharged compared to the initial proposal Hector gave me. I originally texted Hector on 6/20 and have sent him many texts since. I stopped into the store and talked to Noor briefly on 9/18. He promised me that a manager (Alissa?) would work on it and get credits on my account by 9/20. I have repeatedly tried getting in touch with both Hector and Noor and have been ignored. I would be happy to improve the rating once this gets resolved and they actually get back to me with the promised billing corrections. read more

Took a 1 year old Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in to ATT Highland Park. Screen died while I was looking at it. Not dropped, not submerged, not put next to a super conductive magnet. 10 am appt. I was there at 10am. AT&T associate JP (Female) Piss poor attitude from the get go from JP. I told her exactly what happened and she just really doesn't have any concern. First she tells me the screen.. it looks like it does when it is near a magnet. No, it was ether in my pocket or hand. Then goes on to inspect the the case CSI style to see if I dropped it and yes there are a few scratches / scrapes but nothing major. She then states that it looks like drop damage. Again, no, Not the case. Even had another associate come over and look, but said it looks ok, but there "could be damage inside that we cant see". Really? can you get any more vague or general of a statement? I tell her that within the past week I received an over the air up date from either Samsung or AT&T and since then it was running hot....like Rocket hot. She...and I kid you not says POINT BLANK.. " AT&T does not send software / firmware updates to phones...We are only the Carrier" I said, hold on. I know I have received AT&T updates...."No. Not from ATT she says...." WOW.... So, long story short. I don't have insurance, (which she enplanes to me 5x times...) so I now have a non=working $850 phone that is about a year old that I have $435 to pay off in order to get a new phone. NFW. Not going to happen. I call and talk to Samsung (VG Customer service) and sent the phone to them to check out and repair as they said this is a known issue. ATT policy is crap. They sell the phones, they take your $ for the phones however when there is an issue they deny all accountability and push you to the Manufacturer. Imagine, if your Toyota or Ford dealer told you "sorry, the failed transmission wasn't made by us, we just use them in our cars....you're gonna have to call them directly to get that fixed......" So after being either lied to, or extremely mislead, by JP, Visited the Old Orchard AT&T store with broken phone and old Iphone to swap SIM cards for coverage while Samsung getting fixed. Cesar was a GREAT HELP, GREAT ATTITUDE and countered all the false statements from JP. This is not the first poor review here from customers about JP. I'm disappointed AT&T management (who I called and gave exact same story above) would keep her on. I hope that this will be the tipping point for management. There is nothing worse than when you walk into a place and the sales person starts off with an attitude. She was not on the floor when I walked into the store. There were three other staff people here working with other customers. One person acknowledged me and said someone will be here shortly to check me in. Then two ladies came out of the back of the store door and asked me if she could help. I tried to explain that I purchased an iPad and got internet for it and I didn't want that anymore. I exchanged that for a Mac and wanted to make it so the laptop would be able to be connected to the internet. She was annoyed that I wanted to change service and get some other type of wireless connection for my laptop. She asked for my if and phone number to look up my account. She asked me for my password. I told her my password and and she told me to repeat it slowly. I paused between the digits and she jumped at me and said you don't have to go so slow. I just couldn't understand you when you mumble. I noticed another Yelp entry for this AT&T store, at this same address, listing it as "Closed". I was just there last week, and as of last week, they were still in business - but really they should consider shuttering this location and establish a more spacious store nearby. Their parking lot is uber-tiny and they share it with a car rental company, so you may find yourself pulling out as soon as you pull in. There are more spaces at the rear of their store, if you can figure out how to get to the back (not easy unless you've had time to scope it out beforehand). Some patrons opted to park at the Shell station next door, not sure how the Shell folks feel about that. The store itself is smallish (compared to the Woodfield-area store, that's where I really SHOULD have gone) and busy - there was a wait list for service but it wasn't too bad when I showed up. The service was competent & quick once it was my turn, but I can imagine that I might have lost patience had I come during a really "busy" time of day. On my drive into work each day, I pass at least two or three Verizon stores which appear spacious, clean, and have ample parking - why can't AT&T get on the ball and make all THEIR stores like that?? read more

Honestly, the prior review did the store and staff no justice. I too was skeptical when I entered. I've only gone into Apple stores for my issues. But I needed to get a new iPad sim card and to activate service. Yes, it was a wait and yes, there was no free wifi (-1 star) but as I listened to Travis (who eventually helped me) and the other staff work, they were really patient with each customer, either young or old. The staff is friendly enough, but this place is either very poorly managed or the training coming down from corporate is very off target. Basically, 95% of the people coming in know exactly what they want and don't need to spend a half hour getting it. They have to figure out how to streamline this process big time. English is also not her first language. When I returned there with her today to resolve the issue he tried to pass it off on another manager so I called him out. He was unrepentant, unprofessional, and also someone that is not a native English speaker. You'd think he would be more understanding but nope! Absolutely the worst AT&T store out there. We have been AT&T clients since the 80's and they have treated us terribly. We made an appointment because the new services we added are not working and our bill was $140 higher than it should be so we wanted them to walk us through the bill and to fix the services that are not working. We had an appointment which they did not honor and still made us wait. We had another appointment to get to so ran out of time after waiting for someone to help us. I asked if they could schedule us for later in the evening and the employee said she could not. I said we have been customers for over 30 years and that there are multiple issues going on from their end that need to be fixed immediately and to figure out how to get us an appointment later this evening. She then got mad and walked away I said I'd like to talk to a manager. So she says good, he's over there and kept walking away. The manager then proceeds to ignore me and not help us or talk to us. We decided to leave and will be going to another store tomorrow in hopes that there will be better service and someone available at the time of the appointment I have scheduled. This store is terrible and this is not the first time we have had issues with this location. We will definitely not be visiting this location again and may be getting rid of all at&t services if they can not fix the issues we are having. read more

Staff was friendly, but tried to upsell me to a "plan" to pay $650 for a phone through monthly payments (even though I have insurance). I ended up replacing my broken phone with the same one, which was $200 and conveniently not mentioned as an option when we sat down in their store. Seems like AT&T staff likes to steer people in this direction so watch out. It's an incredibly slow process to actually talk to a rep at the store. I went there about 7:30 p.m. on a random weeknight and was "greeted" by the sight of 3-4 customers just standing there by themselves and another 4 customers working with employees. Eventually someone came over and offered to put my name on their queue, which is video screen with the first names of everyone who is waiting for assistance. I added my name and took a seat to wait. About 15 minutes later, one woman ahead of me gave up and left. At 8 p.m., a pizza delivery guy walked in with a pizza! One of the employees went over to him and sheepishly looked around the store while he paid for his pizza. Incredibly, he and another worker took the pizza and went into the back to eat it! 8 p.m. must be dinner time at this store. This left only 3 employees to help customers and all, of course, were still busy. Eventually, about 40 minutes after first walking into the store, my name was called and I met with a friendly and helpful staffer who was able to answer my questions. So once I finally met with someone, all was good, but the excessive wait time to do so was painful. After all, this isn't some hot new restaurant downtown -- pizza delivery guy notwithstanding. My suggestion to AT&T: Anticipate your staffing needs better and suggest to employees that they have the pizza delivery man make deliveries somewhere less conspicuous than the showroom floor filled with waiting customers. My suggestion to you: If you have an iPhone, skip the craziness at the AT&T store and head to your nearest Apple Store store (Northbrook Court has one and is nearby) to get your questions answered, unless your questions specifically deal with your AT&T account. And even then, a call to AT&T customer service might be a better use of your time. read more

Excellent service! I went here with my mom to purchase her first iPhone. My mom is completely tech illiterate so it was a big jump out of her comfort zone but our service-lady JP was completely understanding of the issue and did a very good job at helping educate her through most of the basics. She also was a great help when it came to understanding what our needs were with merging phone plans, and taking in our calling issues and providing us with a solution. They act like robots and don't care about you. I was told it would be 10$ extra to add a device to my account but that was after an extra 50$ fee a month. They mis interpreted multiple things to me and convinced me to buy a 4g iPad instead of a wifi one say it would be cheaper even though it was not. Terrible service. Terrible management. I can deal with the fact that every time I go in the store it's a 20+ minute wait to speak to anyone and I can deal with watching the employees slowly drag through their duties while I'm in a hurry. What I can't deal with is the systematic cheating of customers out of trade in credits. I've been waiting for 6 months for the $350 trade in credit that they promised. HECTOR, the "manager" is incompetent and rude. I've been an ATT customer for over 30 years and Hector does not seem to care. He put me on hold for 20 mins and then was actually chuckling when I seemed upset that they had not credited me after 6 months. I've been on the phone for at least 3 hours over 6 months and 4 or 5 visits to Hector's store has still not solved the problem. No credit still. They are good about texting you that the credit was declined though. They are quick about that but no explanation and although they all agree I'm due the credit, they can't figure out how to do it. Well, I've had enough. I will be switching all my business away from them. Do yourself a favor and read all the horror stories on the Internet about how ATT is cheating customers on trade ins. I am so happy I found this AT&T store when I switched from Verizon last year. My set up with my new phone was flawless so when I had email issues this spring I headed back there. Peter was knowledgeable, patient and more important he solved my problem. A few weeks ago my main email address had mysteriously disappeared from all my devices and I needed help getting them back. Initially I brought my phone back to this store and discovered Peter was not there that day. Another representative, Nicki, asked me what my problem was. I said I would come back when Peter there but she smiled and asked me again what my problem was as she would like to help me. The problem was a bit tricky to resolve but she was so diligent in resolving each aspect of the issue, smiling and soothing my frustration until it was satisfactorily resolved. I had to make more trips with the rest of my devices and finally had Peter to help me again. I feel so confident in this store being THE place I rely on, I can highly recommended it as the place to purchase AT&T services and wireless devices. read more
