I've been to this AT&T store twice and both times the sales ppl are like vultures at the front door. It can really be a turn off when first entering the store. Luckily for them I have been with ATT for a while now so it's not like they have to try and win me over as a new customer. Matt helped us the first time and we requested him today as we went in to talk about our options for the new iPhone 6. Matt was patient, explained all our options, gave us estimates for the different options and helped us save some good $$! We were doing our own calculations at home but when we went in, he totally knew his stuff and totally had us rethink what we wanted. We were originally only going to get 1 new iPhone but I was so excited about all the savings I decided to get the new 6 for myself as well! Matt wasn't pushy, was down to earth and just real. I like dealing with people like that, no fake stuff. He even asked us what companies we worked for because certain companies can get discounts. That's looking out right there. Never had any sales person ask me that so I can get discounts. That's good people right there. Oh and he didn't try and make any promises he can't keep or don't know about (like the estimated arrival date of our iPhones). Parking for this store is shared with the Storage place, the AC is cold, if you have to wait a while for Matt, head down to Blue Tree Cafe and pick up something cold to drink. read more

I went to AT&T expecting to have problems. (The last time I was there, the worker basically told me he couldn't do anything) The reason for my visit was because I had done a claim thru insurance for my boyfriends phone & when we got the phone, they had registered it to a prepaid - which I did not okay or give consent. So I went in & right away I was greeted by Justin. I told Justin about what happened and he assured me that everything was going to get fixed. He got me a new Sim, canceled the prepaid & even set me up with a tempered glass & 2 cases for my boyfriends phone. Both cases were on sale & I got 20% off on everything. Of course I had to leave with something for me so I got the tablet with their special for 99 cents, $10 a month for 1gb data (unlimited available for $20 a month). They didnt have a case but I was more than happy when he called Ala Moana and had his friend put a case for me on the side, still giving me an additional 20% off. If you go here, ask for Justin Nessel! He knows his stuff & is very attentive to your problems & needs. Super chill & very easy to talk story with. read more

I came from T-mobile to the Kahala AT&T a couple years ago and wasn't happy with their service and thought about switching back. I came to the Kapiolani location and was helped by Earvin. I can't say enough to thank him for all of his help with my account, upgrading my phone, etc. Definitely the best customer service I've ever gotten from a phone carrier, and I keep coming back to this location because he's so helpful and AT&T has kept my service because of him! read more

this was by appointment mind you but the store was empty and we're the only one there when the store opened. they screwed up simple changes like adding names to the phone numbers, they change one thing and mess up another all because they refuse to print out a confirmation of things. $2732.46 That was my AT&T phone bill a few months ago. How? My wife was making long distance phone calls to Korea and Japan with her cell phone without realizing that she didn't have the international long distance plan. Her calls were costing us about $4 per minute. $2732.46. OUCH! That's like a mortgage payment for chrissakes! Fortunately, AT&T was cool enough to retroactively re-rate all the long distance minutes she used (at 13 cents a minute) so that we eventually only had to pay a fraction of the original bill. *whew* read more

I usually don't like to go into AT&T stores at all but I'm reviewing this store and giving this five star review because of the sales associate that I got to work with. Her name is Shayla. Blonde haired cute girl. Very very sweet and easy to talk to. She transferred from a CA store because she moved here but she is just the NICEST, MOST-HELPFUL associate that I have ever had EVER at ANY AT&T store. She isn't pushy at all and she provides EXCELLENT service. She's flexible, easy to talk to you and seems genuinely interested in helping you get what you want (versus getting a bigger paycheck in commission). I came in with my boyfriend. We were only looking for a prepaid phones. And she was still super helpful. She even took the time to scan a bunch of difference cases for prices for me because I had asked her to check the prices first before I decided. I like to unwrap and set up my phone myself too and she didn't give me a hard time about that. She personalizes her customer experiences as well as her business cards and she even hand writes her direct cell line on her business cards and hand writes thank you cards to stick into your bag at checkout. I really recommend seeing this girl because she's honest, easy to talk to, interested in what you NEED versus what she wants to sell you, and she knows her stuff. read more

Before I begin, I'm going to preface my review by saying I'm not saying that AT&T is the best wireless provider (nor am I saying it is the worse). Nor am I saying they have the best plan or anything along those lines. My review is simply of this particular location that I have recently had to frequent as a long-standing and very satisfied AT&T customer. ...was there enough implying that I am a pretty happy AT&T customer? No? ok...well, I tried. I've rarely had the need to go to an actual store in this modern era of online shopping and servicing. I mean come on? Why would you even bother when you can change your plan online at the click of your mouse? Well....I have a very old plan that I don't want to mess up so I opted to just go to the store to make changes. The lines can be a wait, so you can book an appointment ahead at att.com. I didn't and the wait times have varied. One time it was a straight walk-in, another 10 minutes, and yet another 35 minutes. So it really depends. The store is pretty big so you can peruse the new phones and such, but there is some seating....however can be pretty limited and tiring when you are waiting for a while. Play the guessing game. They have a board with the people in front of you and guess who is sitting where...Stand near the guy you think is at the top of the list and when they get up to work with the staff, slide right in and take their seat. The staff are very knowledgeable and while they are ultimately there to sell you product, I never felt pressured. They describe what they think is best for you based on what you are using and what you share with them and can find some solutions that might save you money. I really felt comfortable and built a level of trust with the guys I have worked with there. All in all, I have to say I was quite impressed with the service. Hopefully the same can be said for their other locations, but in the mean time, I'll stick to the Kapiolani location. read more

BYE BYE SPRiNT and Hello iPhone 4! Great service! The guy was nice enough to hold 2 of the iPhone 4's for both me and my bf when it first was released. Gave us the rundown on how their plans worked since we were switching providers and I have to say their family plan is alot better! paying less which is an A++++ (we were a long time sprint customers service was great but their phones no longer met our standards) he synced all our contacts and transferred pictures to our new phones as well. My bf was already in touch with how the iphones worked since I got him an itouch last christmas and it is similar, I on the other hand was a first timer, I always had a blackberry. He gladly showed me all the cool things you can do and what not to do with my new gadget. I have to honestly say this is by far the best phone I've ever owned and I don't think any other phone can compare. So does anyone care to tell me why the workers here are always a hit or miss? On some occasions I have had excellent customer service. Other days not so much. Since I hate my local apple store [which is ala moana--see my apple store review on why I refuse to step foot in there,] I went to AT&T hoping to get my phone upgrade. Because 'somebody' cough* threw my phone against the wall in a fit of rage... but that's a whole other can of worms I don't want to revisit. Moving on! Today, I encountered probably the most unanimated character I've ever met, let's call him "I don't know" because he did NOT introduce himself. He did open the door for me upon entering, which was very gentlemanly of him I'll give him that. But! The entire experience with him was just drab. He spoke so quietly I could barely hear him... but not wanting to be rude, I just dealt with it. In addition, he was sporting two double sleeve tattooed arms and a brand spakin' new shiner on his eye. Yep, I swear. This dude probably got punched in the club last night or somethin' coz that thing was not pretty. I mean.. I get it things happen, you have a personal life outside of work, but it just didn't seem very professional to me, but what do I know right? Side note: Just some advice to guys, if you got into a fight over the weekend, go borrow some of your girlfriends make up please! Especially if you work in customer service. Reflecting on the experience, this guy should have just called in sick or something. He clearly did not want to be there and I didn't want him to be helping me. In the end, I did not even end up getting my phone upgrade [due to an unrelated reason]. I'll probably continue to come here because its convenient (perks of honolulu right? sigh) but lets hope this review gets the attention of some higher ups so that proper training can be done to avoid more experiences like mine. read more

I find it absolutely shocking, that I had to wait for an hour and 30 minutes!!! Just to buy a phone! When you walk in a lady "checks you in" on an ipad.. and then the torture begins. Dozens of people just standing there...staring... The store is severely understaffed!!! Why are there so many open desks/computers with no employees? I never in my life have stood for 1.5 hours waiting to spend money!! By the time I was helped, I had to use the bathroom and I was practically dehydrated. The At&t stores on the mainland are so much more efficient; just walk in...greeted by staff... purchase phone... and leave store... how hard is that? This place is pretty trippy. You walk in and you get checked in via an iPad by some lady who takes down your needs. I just said I heard that state workers get a discount on their phone bill... and she was like sure... you'll be called when someone is available, until then you can roam the store. My family and I always go to this AT&T for all of our phone needs. Even though there is usually a queue of customers waiting, this just shows that people are willing to wait to get serviced and helped! And the wait is usually not very long at all, maybe like 15-20 minutes max. We've been long time customers of AT&T and the staff here is helpful and friendly. They helped me pre order the iPhone 6s and I received it within days! I also was able to get an iPad Air for $99 because I upgraded my phone. Let's just say it felt like Christmas to me! I was also able to get some money back for turning in my old iPhone to be applied towards the bill. I haven't been to many other AT&T store locations, but this one is my favorite. read more

I went in with a hopeless, old, broken Nokia and walked out with an iPhone (no pressure) for only $10 more a month than what I was paying for just talk and text. Yay. He was super helpful, knowledgeable, and did not pressure me into purchasing anything. Best customer service experience I've had in Hawaii so far. It was a Saturday around 5pm and there was no wait, lots of staff to help. As a side note: The Kalihi/School St. store was not so helpful when I first got here 2 years ago- forgot to cancel my old plan and billed me twice, then gave me a Kauai cell number instead of an Oahu one so people calling me on land lines pay long distance. wtf? read more

Wednesday the 14, December 2011 Here goes in my friend "Amy" who is not tech savvy wanting to buy earbuds for her phone. She gets singled out and gets picked up by this sales representative named Grace Tian-Li. My friend does not understand much English so Grace politely asks if she could translate. Bad idea. For the next 15 minutes, I could hear Grace Tian-Li upsell my friend on phones that she does not want. She only needs a earbud with a microphone. I tell my friend about her aggressive sales tactics but Grace butts in and shows her some Bluetooth device. Not cool. Amy finally buys her earbud that's supposed to fit in her phone but it doesn't. I return it a couple of days later and the sales rep Ash apologizes for Grace's deception. Due to the poor customer service from Grace and the preying on immigrants, I'm not recommending this store to anyone. The only good part is the clean floors! read more

Of all the cell phone service providers, I've always had the best experiences with customer service from AT&T. This particular location was no exception to the usual stellar service I'm provided. The gentleman who helped me today was engaging, kind, knowledgable and extremely helpful. I was preordering the iPhone 6 and I was outta there in 10 mins top. Someone needs to really check what the online purchases are and who's really responsible for it. So I purchased and my phones online and was quoted $305.... when I got all 4 lines ( I'm a single mother and I pay for 2 of my kids and my mothers phone). So I'm happy when I see $305. I go to the store and pick them up and I get, "where not responsible for anything you order online." Then I'm wondering why their getting me to get Directv? I decline and walk out the store happy because Im finally going back to AT&T! So the next day.... Got here a t 6:45 pm. I'm still here at 8:15 trying to get a phone activated. Walked in and was greeted by 3 people. Took my name and dad there was one person ahead of us. Waited until about 7:15 before someone walked up and said that we're almost up. I asked if there was only one person working. He said there were three but two were on lunch and were almost off. About 10 mins later someone helped us. Got the phone we wanted as he explained it would be a better deal. Ok. Then the real nightmare begins. He couldn't either get on to the system or it was slow. No "sorry, but it's taking an unusually long time", no "thanks for your patience or for waiting". I said I had to get out of there quickly. Someone else said thank you for waiting. I finally had to ask "what is the problem???". Why do I have to ask? A simple explanation would have made me ok with a part of the wait. I'm about to lose my crap right now. It's 8:15 and I'm still waiting. Horrible customer service. Been here an hour and a half now. Ridiculous. Ok I got out at about 8:30. They gave me a portable battery charger as a gift for waiting. I was already pissed. Please just advise your customers of the situation, I promise it makes it better, rather than not saying anything. read more

I had a great experience with purchasing new phones from ATT at this particular location. Cierra Kinoshita was very nice and had great explanations with everything that I was looking at. I was very happy to have gotten my mother and stepdad new IPhone 6's and myself a Samsung Note Edge. I have to say I switched from Verizon because of the cost and the coverage lapse in the Alewa Heights area. All in all I will be visiting Cierra for everything I need as far as cell phone. Service was so great that even one of the managers went to the PC store to get the Samsung Edge that I wanted. I also, purchased a Samsung Gear watch because of the features it had, comparing it to my peeble steel as we speak. So far I like it. All in all, great experience. read more

I haven't been a AT&T store in ages...I just do all my stuff online, but in order to do my upgrade, I had to come in. I've gone to this store a few times in the past for myself and to help my good friend with her phone issues and have never had a problem with service. Paid my bill and bought my daughter a new phone for her birthday. Ricci and Michael help both helped me and my daughter not only got a new iPhone but a cute case and a protective screen cover. Perfect for a 13 year old. I haven't been to the Kapiolani store in a long time and I must say it looks great inside and with people like Ricci and Michael you also get the best customer service. All the promises he made and confirmation with pricing, just to lie straight to my face. What my first bill came out to, was way more than A C had promised and confirmed. He kept peer pressuring me to get Direct TV and quoted me my first months bill and after continuously rejecting, I finally accepted after he confirmed my first months bill with the cable. But little did I know how evil of an elf A C was by the way he talked a good game. Anyways, let's not give A C all the attention because the manager Ryne that I decided to email on the 3rd of July, was just UNPROFESSIONAL! I wrote this manager via email and he has the nerve to unapologetically write me back stating this and stating that and not even once put himself in my shoe. He offers such things but things just don't add up. I got the receipts to prove to yal just how Disappointing of a Manager this person is! I replied to Ryne and told him to get his manager involved because I'm not liking where this is going and I want to make sure nobody falls victim to a liar like A C. How does someone CONFIRM YOUR FIRST MONTHS BILL TO BE below $300, then you look online and your first months bill is $600?!?! After the store representative confirmed that 3xs!!? I made sure he confirmed because I know all about the business industry and to my surprise, I got scammed. Update: As of 7/9/2018, Ryne has not replied to my email since 7/5/2018. All I want is justice for this situation and I want his managers email. It seems Ryne is hiding something with this hold up. I wrote his AM last week Friday I believe, and he hasn't replied to his email. This is ridiculous and this is the definition of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I work for the business industry and I work for a multi billion dollar company, so I know just how important customer service is. Basically I checked and told them what the problem was, and they guaranteed they would take care of me. I rechecked that I would be able to accomplish my intended goal with a different employee and they also assured me all was fine. I was on a lunch break and thus on a limited time schedule. I was expecting a very important business call so it was imperative I have a phone. Well, when it finally came time to finish my transaction, I guess the manager thought I was taking advantage of them and reneged on something that we agreed upon earlier. When we walked into this location, I was immediately asked if I needed assistance by the awesome Sean C. I usually hate getting new phones but Sean is very patient and fun to converse with; he gave good suggestions and helped me get my new iPhone XS Max set up, paired with the best accessories and everything else needed to make the transaction as smooth as possible. My family and I have been an AT&T customer for years. Not saying the service is the best or the worst, but we always go to this AT&T because of their customer service. Jaymie always helps us whenever we go and we always request her because she always trying to fix whatever issue we have and make us happy. I like this AT&T because I don't feel like they are trying to give us a sales pitch and take our money. I feel like they truly care about us as customers, which is hard to beat.
