I give 3 star because AT&T itself only deserves 1 star. But I give this AT&T store a 5 start so the average is 3. I signed with AT&T in August. But on top of the correct bill I also received a bill that did.not belong to me. After spending 2 hours on the phone with its customer services I thought it was resolved. A month later I got the bill again. Another hour on the phone again and the morons at AT&T was not able to figure out why. So I came to this AT&T store. He told me that his manager Anne Marie agreed that if I cannot get the early upgrade waived by corporate he will set me up with accessories worth $250. Nice! Right? NOT!!! I have been coming to this store for nearly 4 years! I have not had a problem ever, i have seen staff come and go. They are organized and orderly. Shout outs to Z and Ashley two reps who have helped me multiple times and has always kept me coming back. Super friendly and fun staff. It was my first time coming to this store. I went in to get an unlocked phone to work on 3G/4G networks. Took them a little while, but that happened in any location I've been to since it's not a common request. While they were figuring it out, I walked around and enjoyed the music they were playing, sometimes listening to their staff singing too :) . I was here for my prepaid activation that I received through mail. AT&T does not make it easy to activate prepaid from home but they make up to it by hiring people like Jefferson and other guys( I feel bad to not ask his name) at store front. These two guys have patiently helped me with the activation process which was stuck in a limbo as a result of me trying to activate online. They had hard time getting it activated but they were very patient , trying several things and calling several customer numbers . I feel really bad that i did not ask the name of the person who sat with me until my phone is activated while Jefferson came in to check on every few minutes. The store itself is everything you'd expect from a cell-phone service store - pretty typical fare. Lines occasionally, typical pricing, etc. etc. HOWEVER, there is one reason and one reason alone that I gave this store a good rating. That reason is named Kevin, and Kevin is the world's best AT&T associate. Kevin tells it like it is, he isn't messing around. Nobody can do that job better than him. You casually mention you want an iphone 4 and BOOM - kevin's got an iphone in your hand. Before your obviously overmatched brain can even process what's going on next he's filling out all that banal paperwork like some half-asian son of flash. So I overheard from this one att rep saying, "One customer drove all the way from SF to look for Rome, because they read about his reviews on Yelp!" My first thought was, wow Yelp is powerful! Then my second thought was, cool, I guess I came to the right place. Overall, it was a good experience. I was greeted at the door and I put my name down and waited for about 20 minutes for the next available rep. The rep was able to answer all my questions and even helped me save some money. Even when the store was busy everone in this store was helpful. As soon as i walked in I was promptly greeted and told I'd be helped as soon as someone was available to do so. I was helped by an associate named Kevin, who I see is mentioned several times in other people's reviews and for good reason. He was very helpful and he answered all my questions and explained everything very well. so since i lost my iphone awhile back and needed a new one badly, i decided to call this branch ahead of time since I don't live near the area. I spoke to the "manager" and asked him if i can use a family member's upgrade for my phone (since we we're all in the same plan)., so i dont have to pay the full retail price for another iphone. he said "yeah definitely just come into our branch" (i even had him check the account over the phone before i drive there, so i don't waste my time driving to this location) right when i get there i told him i had called and wanted to do the upgrade. as soon as he checked the account, he walked away and told me another employee was gonna help me. SOOOO of course this other employee had no idea what he was talking about and wanted to charge me almost 400 for the phone. so i told him to double check with the manager and of course the coward denied what he told me over the phone. At this point the "manager" was avoiding eye contact with me and told his employee to tell me he didn't guarantee anything over the phone.. I ended up going to a different at&t location two days later and told them my experience with this branch. everyone in that AT&T branch said the manager coudl've charged me the upgrade price instead of the full price if he wanted to, but since he wanted to make money, he was trying to charge me the full retail price instead. -.- nice tryyyy! read more

June 3. I brought my mom and her elderly friend with us to this store because honestly, I got my mom's phone from here last year and they were very patient with her. (She can be very persistent) My 'aunt' (mom's friend) broke her phone and needed a replacement. They troubleshooted it as best they could, trying to reset the whole phone, replace the sim etc etc. In the end, I believe her name was "RACHELLE", apologized for the inconvenience and sold her a Go Phone which worked just like her old phone and replaced the sim card "just in case". We were there for about a good 1 hour for a $16 phone. Rachelle was patient, she listened and even tried to understand our "issue". Through it all, she smiled and was very kind. read more

I went here to replace the SIM card on my iPhone because that little card was screwing me up. It would drop my calls, lock up on the AT&T network and do other funky stuff. I would give it a four star, but the service wasn't extensive, it was elementary issue... they accomplished it, so it is A-OK. My touch screen was becoming a punch screen. But it was quick, easy and painless. They have a list so it's like getting into a club when it's busy. But the guy was friendly and it took less than five minutes. And speaking of which, this is the second time I've seen a hot boy at AT&T stores... shopping should turn you on. Yeah, that's right. AT&T: servicing over 1200 countries and in my dirty little mind. This review is specially for Steven. Great Cust Serv!! The story (tadah!!): I am an existing AT&T customer with a regular cell phone. On the side, I wished to order a Go Phone. So to save a trip to any store (and specially with bad experiences in some) I called the online number to order my new phone. After holding the line for 15 mins, someone came and after another 45 mins (!!) I was able to get what I wanted... a new phone with a new sim. but when it finally arrived in mail, I saw that they had by mistake put my existing cell number on the new sim as well. So I called again and this time someone else apologized for the mistake and sent me a different sim. But the first sim that came had a $15 airtime on it, which was missing on the 2nd sim they sent. Resolution: So I went into this store having good reviews on Yelp, and they deserved it. Steven was patient and understanding and professional. He made a long call, explained it to multiple people on the other side multiple times (and I thought only we had issues!) and finally in some time I walked out with my new sim activated with the $15 on it. problem solved. If there was an option for a negative 10 review - this would help describe our experience at the AT&T store today. After waiting 30 minutes to talk to a representative on our only day off, Sunil broke the news to us that they didn't have the phone in stock that we were looking for. First of all, I would thing that proactive customer service would have the front door greater ask us what we're looking for and check what's in stock in the store before wasting your time. Second, regardless that it wasn't available we asked him to help us understand the difference between the 'Next' plan and traditional plan that we've been on. Sunil said he would have to have an ID to be able to explain anything to us. What the??? I didn't have it on me because I ran out the door with my husband. Luckily, I had a picture of my ID on my phone. He says he can't discuss anything on the plan because the picture of the ID on phone was 'expired' and that he could lose his job without a valid ID. C'mon... Did you need a passport, my social security card and a sample of my blood, too??! The 'Manager' Joe here was not very helpful even though we were disgruntled and not very happy that AT&T had wasted our time and didn't give us any information. We will be buying our phone at Best Buy - much better customer service and no wait time!! If you have to visit an AT&T store... Don't come to this one. You'll save more time going to another location with better reviews... Even if you have to drive out to Palo Alto or SF!! read more

I found some additional charges on my account and wanted to clear them up. WASTED my time calling this specific establishment, 4 CALLS and NO one picked up the phone. I drove there hoping for better luck, the store was NOT busy at all, they had available "employees", UNFORTUNATELY they were too busy to answer my calls or questions. Overall waste of time. No one could help me or answer any of my questions. I've been an AT&T customer for 10+ years the customer service has been on a decline. When I asked why no one could answer my questions, they simply replied "I'm not sure." I have since switched to Verizon Wireless, better service and their employees are more familiar with the products and service they are providing. read more

I purchased a new cell phone (i-phone 6 plus) from this ATT store as well and signed up for a service plan. I arrived at 10:00am on a Saturday morning and was quickly greeted by a very crowded store full of customers. I was asked to wait in a line for the agent to assist me. The system was efficient but the sheer number of people in the store made the wait time overwhelming. So instead of waiting I made an appointment to come back at 4:00pm. When I returned the sales agent assisted me in finding the best phone for my needs and helped me calculate the monthly bill. He was knowledgeable but when it came time to activate the line and finalize the "paperwork," it took over 1.5 hours. Not sure if this is the common wait time for this type of a purchase but it seemed extremely lengthy. Over it was not a great experience due to the over crowded store. read more

Today is an amazing day. Walked in to an AT&T store and "David Mosqueda" took care of us. We had no plans of buying a phone but the way David explained everything to us and how he took care of us, it just made sense. David knows 100% of all the phones and the plans information. Loves to help people, And fun to work with. David walked us around the store. Showed us all of the different phones. Explained all of the differences. Asked us a lot of questions so he can find out what we want. David's customer service is exceptional and memorable. We cannot ask for anything more. This is the only AT&T Store I go to. First of all, I'm on Verizon, so I don't buy anything for myself here. However, my mom is still on AT&T and every 2 years (practically on the dot, btw) we go in here to get a new phone for her. For the last 2 visits, we've been helped by an awesome guy named Rome! I like going here because my mom is the most un-technologically savy person (I'm the second most :P) but she still wants her iPhone. So of course, that means my brother or I have to take the time to set up her phone and transfer her contacts, etc etc. This is a major pain in the buttocks. Enter Rome. He transferred all my mom's stuff for her and even helped her pick out a screen protector and case so that she didn't scratch it right away. He really gave her a package deal and made sure that when she left, she was ready to go. So thank you Rome and AT&T for saving me and my brother some pain and suffering. Whoo hoo! read more

After years of waiting, I finally decided to upgrade my old iPhone 3G to the new iPhone 4. After its release, I would periodically call this store to see if they had a 16GB version available. As you can imagine, this took a while due to the insane demand. So about a week ago, I decided to stop by and finally pick one up as an early birthday present to myself. The employee who helped me (Mari) was very friendly and patient with me as I went over plans and options for my new phone. She was also awesome enough to suggest that I enroll in my employer's discount program (something which I wasn't even aware existed). All in all, I spent less than 30 minutes in the store, which was perfect since I was in a rush to get back to work. Simply awesome. As for the phone, I found that going from the 3G to the 4 was like night and day. It's SO much faster, and all of my newer apps & games work as intended (no more glitches or slow-downs). Overall, I was very impressed with my experience here, and I would recommend this store to other Yelpers without hesitation. read more

I wish I knew the young lady's name who listened to my problem, and promptly told me where I went wrong and how she couldn't help me. If I did know it, I would tell her to get off her high horse. I am an AT&T customer who got screwed by AT&T by having my service wrongly cut (I wanted to cancel my UPGRADE, not my entire F-ing plan). I was frustrated with the 611 customer service line already (since they were the ones who made the entire mess, and didn't quite fix it). I don't need to be told that I shouldn't have cancelled my pre-order and I should have just waited for it to arrive. I shouldn't have been told that I would have to take my device back to Fry's and do a return. It's not Fry's fault that AT&T f-ed up my account. That's why I'm trying to go to the AT&T store; to get the duplicate accounts fixed. I'm one person; I don't need two cellphone lines. I shouldn't have been told that the AT&T associates cannot call customer service for me, therefore I would have to call myself, but if I would like, I could call from the store. Hello? Haven't you heard that I've tried that and am super-frustrated? Can't you tell that I'm on the verge of tears from frustration and you still tell me that I can call 611 myself? iPhone or Droid? This was the big debate for me and would be the determining factor if I was going to stay loyal with my long time provider AT&T. I have been wanting the iPhone 3gs for a long time and finally ordered one online. Then I started having cold feet. In the whole process I was hearing all about the new DROID and how it was the lastest "iPhone Killa" After some long debate and research I decided to go with the new Android phone. Believe me, the 3GS was hard to let go of. I made my way to the AT&T store in McCarthy Ranch to return my phone and cancel my 2 year obligation. I have never experienced such great customer service from a phone retailer before. Kristine was so friendly, personable and helpful. Returning the iPhone was a little tricky but she was able to do everything for me. She didn't try to talk me out of canceling my plan and even wanted to know about the new Droid. Sadly, I am going to miss the great customer service from AT&T. Purchasing the new DROID on Overstock has been absolute hell. They cut off my service even before having my new phone get shipped to me. I will be phone-less for 4 days! Just ridiculous, if I could rate Overstock on here they would get a very unpleasant review. read more

Originally I had waited in the Fremont location for over an hour on the waiting list to find out a phone that I wanted was not in stock. WTH? Seriously, you couldn't have just checked when I first came in but made me wait? So I made them call this location and Mustafa (store manager) was AWESOME. He helped me immediately and had someone that assisted me before (Alex) to get what I needed along with personally apologizing for another store's crappy service. In the future, my relatives will be going to this store even though it is 20 minute drive out of their way. Will return there for my upgrade in a few months! Fast courteous service with an honest representative looking out for me. I came in to just upgrade from an iPhone 4S to a 5S (new sim activation, keep same number), and came out knowing more about my phone, android phones, an extra 5 gb/month for free*, and an offer for discounted cases. I initially called in to see if it would be a long wait or if I needed an appointment and was reassured that it would be a quick drop in. When I got there about 30 min later, lo and behold the place looked swamped and busy. Fortunately I was only 4th in line and quoted at 15-20 min. This turned out to be only about 10 min, wow! This was enough time to show my mom all the latest apple and android offerings without dawdling around too much. While getting the upgrade, the rep said there was a promotion that would upgrade our 10gb/mo to 15gb/mo for free with no strings attached (competitive promo). I'm pretty certain at most businesses, they wouldn't disclose such a promotion openly and I'm glad the rep was so forward and friendly to us. We were also told that activation/new sim cards are free at these official AT&T stores, as opposed to third party stores, so this whole visit was free! Asterisk for the free above because our employer discount dropped off the account during the transfer, so it may actually cost more money until I square away the employee discount. read more

I love this place, I get to pay my bill in this little machine thingy, so I don't have to talk to one of their 20 sales people they have stocked up doing nothing. So the stars basically go straight to how cool the "pay your bill" machine is. Service/employees here are just annoying and trying to suck the blood out of your so they can make their commission or whatever it is they get for selling their service or phones. I just like to get in and out of there without being smoother by a salesman. Don't get me wrong they're friendly, but I believe they have to be friendly because 1) They have nothing else to do. 2) They want to sell you their service for commission. REVIEW IS FOR PAYING A LANDLINE BILL: I had a good experience here. Although I do not have AT&T, they assisted me in paying my mother's landline. The only thing is that I had to have either a debit or credit card, which I wanted to use anyways but what if I had cash? As I walked in the girl approached me and I asked her if I could pay the bill, she had another employee take me to a register to pay the bill. He made small talk about my unique name at the crowded registers. Everything happened flawlessly but he did mention that he waved a $5 in person bill paying fee. He also told me that next time I could pay the bill at the electronic kiosk using the 3 digit code at the end of the phone number on my receipt. He was informative, fast and nice. I probably won't ever pay at an actual store ever again but I'm grateful that my experience was good and it wasn't busy. read more
