Went in on a Saturday to get some windshield wiper blades and a new air filter. Was given wrong windshield wiper blades had to order an air filter. They told me the air filter will be in at 12:30 came back at 1:30 to switch out windshield wiper blades for the correct ones had to teach the staff how to put them on. Air filter didn't come in place a second order. They never called called the following weekend to see if it came in found out it came in. They sent it back because I never called them to see if it was in yet never issued me a refund. Yes my responsibility I ordered the air filter should've followed through maybe during the week but after the first attempt of not getting it in. You would think customer service would make the phone call or at least not send the freaking part back. I find this shady that they didn't issue me a refund when they sent the part back so I will not be going to O'Reilly's auto parts anymore. Also, I get the feeling it's a bunch of young men who don't give a rats behind about the customers, but that is true in most places these days. My car battery died at work and I needed it replaced. It was a bit later, but still full sunlight. I called to ensure it would be able to happen when I got there, then once again when I arrived to make sure it was still a go. They didn't make a big deal about it and got me right back on the road. Came here to buy a oil filter. Went to the counter to ask for the part number(s) for oil filters for a Honda. He (employee's name is LUIS according to my receipt) didn't ask me which brand I'd like and proceeded to the oil filter section and handed me a Wix. I told him I wanted a Mobil 1 branded one and he rolled his eyes. He walked me back to the counter, looked at his computer screen for about 2 seconds and said "we don't even have that". Okay no problem I say, and then I ask, "could I get a piece of scratch paper so I can write down the part number"? LUIS replies "why don't you just take a picture" with more attitude than a upset teenager. At this point I realize this employee is either intentionally ignorant and doesn't want to help me or he's just not smart. Whatever the case, I go back to the oil filter section and my Mobil 1 oil filter is in stock with plenty stocked up. This employee is a joke and is a poor representation of the decent service I have received in the past here. I used to come here out of convenience, not necessity. There is a Autozone on Berryessa and a Oriellys in Milpitas. I'll go there from now on. LUIS you are a terrible employee. One day you will be in a situation where you really need some service and someone will treat you really good. Suspected a bad battery so came by the store after work. I learned when I arrived that they usually cut off doing battery testing or installs around 5pm and it was well after that time. Their selection is fairly small, but the employees always seem to know the basics of what they are doing. They are helpful when making suggestions on specific products and helpful in locating correct fuses and bulbs, but where other auto stores are willing to replace certain items for you, they don't know how to do much in that aspect, even though they have signs stating they are experts. read more

My local location, I've been here quite a few times to purchase oil filters and other miscellaneous car parts. Every staff that I have encountered have been extremely polite and helpful. The overall store is quite small, but the great staff make up for the store size. I came in to purchase a pair of headlights for my car. I paid and my cashier went to the back to locate them. Unfortunately there was a system error that stated the item was in stock but it wasn't there at the store. My cashier apologized and informed me that they had it in stock at another location not too far away. He printed my receipt and instructed me to let them know I was picking it up from them. Overall, I appreciate the effort and him making it right by providing me the product at another location. He was also very kind and apologetic about it as I understand how computer systems can be wrong. This is a great location if you are in the area and in need of car parts. read more

I came in to get a new battery which was under a warranty because they sold us a faulty battery last time. When explaining the situation to the guy up front, he rudely cut me off and said "ok well what do you want me to do about it"? His name is LUIS, by the way. All we wanted was for him to look up our account and find the right battery to replace. They couldn't find any battery that was sold to us under the account and now i'm thinking we got totally ripped off. Anyways, he didn't help give us a solution at all, was being rude and rolling his eyes the whole time. Customer service my a**. Basically we had to buy a whole new battery and never got our battery that was under warranty. Don't go to this O'reilly location and definitely don't get help from Luis. read more

Very friendly and professional staff (Josie), reasonable price. My vw golf got a dead battery. So I went to the store and purchased a new battery. The manufacturer recommended a professional to install it because battery replacement will reset memory. I decided to replace it myself but I didn't have a socket extension to remove the bolt that fastened the battery. Josie loaned me one. She came over with me to check if the tool worked. If not, she's happy to loan her own set, how sweet! Eventually, Josie just replaced the battery for me, almost in a blink. Such a nice, kind, and professional lady. I started the car with the new battery. The whole process probably took only 15 mins. (I'm glad that I didn't go to a garage or dealer to wait for hours) The battery price is reasonable. Came in here on a Tuesday night to get my starter exchanged that I bought 8 months ago. My starter was working fine until it didn't. I came and told them what was going on. they tested it and obviously it passed. i tried to explain to both the employees that it only works 70% of the time and they didn't try to understand me. So i asked if they can swap/exchange my starter since it was still under warranty and they wouldn't do it for me. they didn't even care. just a straight NO to everything. I asked to talk to talk a manager and they said that even the manager CAN'T DO ANYTHING. employees speaking for the manager unless one of them is a manager and they're just lazy AF! Anyways with this crappy customer service I took my starter and left. went to another one the next day and explained my whole situation and they were kind enough to exchange it for me. No one likes to stop their life and take out a starter out of their car. Go to the store you bought it from and they give you shit for it. I've been here a couple of times to buy a few supplies for my car or gf's car. My gf needed a replacement of the back up light for her car. I asked the employee which light bulb I should use that goes with her car. He looked up on the computer to check by asking me a few questions on the type of model, brand, etc of the car. So I went to the aisle and grabbed the light bulb he told me to get. Once I got home and checked the light bulb. I noticed the light bulb I bought was a lot bigger. I was so angry and frustrated that he gave me the wrong type of light bulb. He made a mistake on his part, but next time I'll take the old light bulb to compare. read more

When I returned a different staff member informed me that the battery failed the test. I needed a new battery. The staff patiently shared me the options and prices for the replacement battery. They don't stand behind the products they're selling. I bought a can of manufacturer's matching spray paint. It spits out blobs of paint instead of spraying. Brought it back for exchange or refund but they declined saying it's been used. How could I tell if it's deffectice until I used it? It's not a big ticket item but they get one star for selling a defective product and not willing to take responsibility for it. read more

I called because I needed a new battery. The guy said come in and we'll take a look, but when I got there, it turns out the guy who does the batteries wasn't there. They did find someone to replace my battery when I complained. Their response was that they had specifically said "They could take a look" and apparently neglecting to mention that they couldn't fix it today was not a problem to them. My concern was that I was having a very difficult time starting my car and I didn't want to be making extra stops, because I didn't know if I could start my car again. I don't think a little honesty on the phone is too much to ask. read more

January 26 2019 around 11 AM Went to buy a front brake rotor for 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, ditzy clerk sold me one for a Cadillac, so I go back and get what the clerk assured me was the right one, nope wrong again! So after disassembling my brakes twice reassembling and going back to the store I was upset, clerk says " great just get here and have to deal with this" ( shift change not same clerk ) no sorry or lets sort this out, I had to disassemble and reassemble 2 times due to idiots working there................got a refund and left. Also, he tried to overcharge me for an expensive headlight and when I asked for the standard one, he was like "oh ok". I'm in the parking lot now and I tried to put the headlight in with the "easy instructions" they gave me and it's not opening up and my hands are super dirty now. I went in to get brake pads & rotors. The person who helped me was training someone & he was asking me questions that weren't necessary. Like if I needed the brakes for the front or back.. & if I needed hardware with it.. The fact that he was training someone shouldn't be an option if he's not fully knowledgeable of car parts.. They ended up selling me the wrong brake pads so I had to return them. The second time I went in to return them I got the same person again & he asked me those questions again and then undermined my bfs ability to change brakes and asked if my bf knew what he was doing... The reason I'm giving three stars is because I was very frustrated and taking my anger out on the employee but he was very patient with me and was willing to get me what I needed. I pulled over here after overheating on a Friday commute home to Pleasanton. I had a pinhole leak in a heater hose and was losing coolant. The manager lent me a knife, screwdrivers, and let me take parts out to my car to repair - without me paying first. I also was allowed to go in the back to try out different plastic hose fittings to find the one that fit. When I was all done patching it up, with hose clamps and new coolant, he only charged me for the coolant, not the hose clamps or plastic piping - "because I did it myself". Overall, really helpful - even if they'd charged me for everything, I'd have written this great review. They were really helpful in a time of need. read more

As I was driving home from work on a rainy day, the blade from my windshield wiper came off. I honestly WAS going to ignore it & have my dad fix it for me, but I didn't want to risk it. Of course me being a girl who knows nothing about cars walked in super clueless. Cesar greeted me right away & asked what I needed help with. The first thing I asked was if I buy wipers, if they do installation & he said yes. Bingo! I probably would've walked out if they didn't because I wouldn't know where to start. Surprisingly he asked if I had a budget or preference for the wipers. I was expecting some guy to sell me the most expensive ones & upsell me. He showed me all my options & what the difference between certain ones are. It helped me so much on picking out the best ones for me instead of automatically going for the cheapest ones. He took his time & helped me install my wiper blades for the front and back of my Honda CR-V. This sounds stupid, but he saved my life as I would have just left it alone & pray it wouldn't rain while I drive. Thanks Cesar! I guess I should have read the other reviews about paint beforehand, but hey this is the closest store to my house that carries the paint that I needed. The problem for me though was that the spray paint they sold me was defective. I bought it in the morning and I had to come to some few hours later to return it because the paint wouldn't spray out of the can properly. The manager told me he couldn't help me. Even when I asked him about the 30 day warranty that's printed right on the receipt he said he couldn't help me and that it must have been my fault that the spray paint was not working and that they 'check' all the cans before they still them. Anyway, I could tell that he was not going to help me so I just let it go. No need to try to talk to someone that wasn't going to help me. Fortunately, the O'Reilly's over on Calaveras and Abbott helped me out. I understand that people try to pull one over on retail store sometimes by returning things that maybe they broke themselves and were not actually defective; this guy's probably had some people do the same with spray paint or whatever, but there has to be some way to treat his customers fairly while also protecting your business from being swindled. It's experiences like this that remind me of why I've been buying more and more things online. It's not about a $10 can of paint, but I'm not coming back for other things that I otherwise might have in the future. It's kind of sad that stores like this will close and go out of business, but it is what it is I guess. read more
