Went today to the Vernon Hills store with some very minor issues that the AT&T Store(205 W. Monroe, Chicago)would normally help me with. Fortunate that they have a super rep(Ryan Zunker)who always helps a non tech person with my questions. The customer service rep(James)could not have been less helpful and said that I should sign up for their "Tech Service". Plan to go to the Chicago store to help me with my problems. Have heard others come away with similiar stories of the Customer Service reps at this store being very unhelpful. read more

Four dorks more worried about company policy than customer service. Went in to return my sons old phone, had to run back out to get him for Face ID, left phone on charger so it could be ready and prepared for the return (i was very busy). These four clowns upon my return decided to flex their muscles and refused to take the phone back because I left it there. I have a feeling they'll be working there a very long time as they have no appreciation/understanding of customer service. As a response I have cancelled my entire family's services with ATandT. I find the employees as well as the managers to be rude. when I purchased my I Watch, the salesman lied and told me that the silver was discontinued to find out that it wasn't and didn't get the color I truly wanted. I went back to the store to chat with the manager about this and the salesman denied that that's what he told me. What makes matters worse is the manager's Stephanie reiterated to me on Sunday, December 21, 2025 that she did put in the $250 card I was supposed to receive. It is now almost 2 months later to find out after speaking to AT&T today that she never submitted the information as she stated she did. I would go out of my way to avoid this location! read more

Jesus is the best, highly recommend him. Great service . So patient. He gave up his lunch to help me and gave me wonderful guidance . I left T Mobil and came back to Atnt . I ended going to Apple and buying an unlocked I phone and buying prepaid for thirty a month . Unlimited texting and calling with 5 gig but I'll use WiFi at home. Don't expect help here from their management if you are a senior, manager is agist and rude. While the sales consultant Jessie was lovely and actually helped my parents accomplish their task, the manager, some woman named Kristina, treated my parents abhorrently. All my mother wanted to do was understand why another store was unable to help them upgrade an iPhone. The manager Kristina was dismissive and, among other things, repeated herself as if my mother, who is very tech savvy, were an imbecile. Very unfortunate. I've been here twice now over the past couple years for phone and phone related purchases. Both times have been a great success. This most recent time I brought my 21 year old son to get a new phone. I had to go with him since he's still on my plan. We were helped by a young guy around the same age as my son. He was super-friendly, very helpful, seemed really knowledgeable. He helped us quickly, answered our questions efficiently and gave a couple recommendations for phone cases. Overall, this store seems to get quite a bit of traffic. I am in the area fairly frequently and there's always people in and out. Some times are busier than others. But the store is large, so even if you end up having to wait there's space to walk around and look at what they've got out. This is one of the "real" AT&T stores. Be mindful that not all of them are!! Even though they may have the AT&T name, they may not truly be a corporate office. So i would recommend you always check. Anywho, yes i recommend this location! The worst ATT store. I came in 45mins early for my appointment and only 2 open people and they said there's one before me. The girl who wasn't helping anyone said it'll be about 10mins. I waited 30mins outside and never got a call. Instead they waited exactly my appointment time even tho there was someone who could've helped. Useless store. 20+ years with ATT and this crap... Our in-store experience was really excellent - we dropped in without an appointment and we were greeted right away by Billy B who was very pleasant and knowledgeable - the whole process was very smooth. The sales/service people were friendly and well organized. The store has a nice selection of phone accessories. This is the worst store. The store is huge and well stocked but they have NO ONE working there. They need more staff. Even doubling wouldn't be enough to handle their traffic. No greeting when you walk in. No indication you have to check in. The 2 workers ignored me completely. Tried to call the store for 30 minutes straight on the way here and got no answer. I'd ordered an upgrade phone and arranged for in store pickup because I needed it in a hurry. Should have picked shipping instead. Would have been faster. Don't waste your time with this store. You'll be better off driving to the next closest store. Trust me it will save you time. Included a picture. Guess how many of these people actually work here. So sad. read more

If this could be a negative star rating, this store sure would get it-all thanks to its very rude and unknowledgeable manager who was working this afternoon when I called three times (after he bounced me to Apple, and spoke very condescendingly to me), the last WITH a rep from the call center. I am in the process of switching back to AT&T after a few years away (with 15 years of their service prior to that)-and was reminded today why I left-because of people like him (and now that I think about it, it probably WAS interacting with him I'm the store), who treat customers like garbage and don't care one bit if they have a good experience or not. He was even rude to the rep who called with me, who knew what she was talking about (which was verified at the following store I called, a little gunshot after that experience, of course)! Funny thing is-I went to another AT&T store, the one in Buffalo Grove on Rte 22, after a very helpful conversation on the phone, and received the help I needed! So interesting that if that manager would have taken 2 seconds to be kind and actually do his job (how ridiculous of me to expect a manager to give a $&@/ about their customers), I would have referred people to the store and been happy returning as a customer, instead, he made me question WHY I would even return. Luckily, there are still some employees with amazing customer service, who helped me realize why I wanted to come back. If you want to feel valued and actually have a conversations with someone who doesn't hate their job, DON'T bother going to this store. If management doesn't care, that usually trickles down-poor employees, and people who have to ever come in contact with him. I am so frustrated with this store. My husband and I went in to renegotiate our contract and sign another 2 years. (We we're at the end of our original 2 year promo) he and I are very on top of our bills so we knew the exact date we had to visit the store to sign up for the next policy. We go to the store and end up waiting half an hour to speak with someone. The young man we got misinformed us telling us we came in a month too early, and we needed to return in September , not August. We kept asking to verify this, because we had just paid our 24th bill and the 25th would start a new cycle. He assured us that for some reason , when we signed up or whatever promo we had gotten that the first payment started later and we were only on the 23rd. So we agreed to come back. This month , our att bill arrives in the mail and it's nearly double the cost of our average bill. Confused, we call customer service and dispute the amount. The woman informs us that the reason the bill is so high is because we are in a new cycle after our initial 24 month lock in price has expired....... I tell her that we visited the store last month to renegotiate and the att employee told us we had to come back in 1 month. She said that was not the case, and our next 2 year needs to be negotiated. I asked her to look up the dates when we had visited the store because I'm sure the track all of those things, and look up what sales associate we dealt with, the date, and the nature of our visit..... Unfortunately the call centres and the actual stores have different data bases, and don't cross reference. So anyways, long story short - this kid royally misinformed us and we are left paying a doubled-bill. I am so not happy about it since it was their mess up which had gotten us into this predicament originally. The woman on the phone said unfortunately their was nothing they could do, and that after we paid this enormous bill- the second would drop down a fraction or two to be more reasonable. I'm just annoyed because my husband and I were correct and went in the store literally TO THE DAY, because we knew we had to renegotiate. Untrained staff then messed this up for us, and now WE are the ones paying for their mistakes. Not happy. I just want to cancel and use Netflix and Hulu and Center Ice for hockey. Horrible experience today. There were 5 employees at the store with only 2 actually helping people. We were there for over 1.5 hours because we were told, our employees need to eat you know. But, it was 3:00pm. They also said it was because of Covid, No. they were terrible even before Covid. It is easier to buy a car than get a phone from this location. read more

Stopped by the AT&T Corporate Store in Vernon Hills last Friday in order to convert existing service that I had with Sprint over to AT&T. The store was not busy, which is highly unusual and we were able to meet with a sales person almost immediately. We had the opportunity to work with Megan M. for nearly 2 hours. She was extremely patient and well knowledge about the various phones and service features available through AT&T. She converted my cell phone over to AT&T as I had asked and helped my wife who was due for a new phone upgrade find the right phone for her and make the necessary changes that was required. Megan M. Did not make us feel rushed and answered every question that we had, walking through each of our phone in order to make sure hat we totally understood all of the features and benefits that we available on our new Samsung S8 cell phones. Megan M. encouraged us to come back any time if we had any questions. She offered to help me set up my Samsung G2 smart watch and pair it with my new phone. The customer service at this AT&T location was outstanding and was solely the responsibility of Megan. M. read more

I have made several attempts to have credit applied to my account because of errors at this store. This is my money and this location does not seem to care about that. First bill is nowhere near what I was told(have it in writing). Dreading the the second bill. Reggie the store manager has ignored my request 3 times and not called me back. I spent 3+ hours on one trip and 2 other visits and no results. I would like to know who the district manager is at this location but based on service so far I sure nobody monitors these reviews. Having used Virgin Mobile for 10 years, I decided to switch to a new iPhone and go to AT&T. The employee that helped me was Jesus. He was extremely nice, he answered any of my questions and made the whole experience quick and smooth. I would highly recommend this store. Good job guys! read more

I was in this specific store a few times before with no problems at all, which is why I kept coming back, but I believe that my trip this time was bad because of a specific employee. I have never been spoken to in the way that this one employee spoke to me. Background for this story is that I was in the store to inquire about alternate options to AT&T Next, in regards to an upgrade. This employee told me that there were no alternatives (lie, as I found out the next day), and that it was all that he could do. For as long as I have been with AT&T, I have never had a problem upgrading my phone. I was prepared to come in, pay the ~$200 upgrade fee for a new phone and a renewed contract, and be done with it. Literally, it is how I have gotten any new phone for many years now. When he told me that I was not able to use a crossover upgrade (which, I had done in the past), I thought that I had no choice. When I went back today, another employee was beyond helpful and understanding about the situation, and offered to help me change it to the plan with a new two year contract, and the $200 upgrade fee. No questions asked. While I was in the middle of the process with this employee, the first employee who had sold me the previous plan came over and started to belittle me for wanting to change plans. At this point, he might as well have just called me "stupid" because that he how he was making me feel with what he was saying. He was rude and condescending toward me. I did not appreciate being blatantly lied to about a plan, because clearly it was still possible to do the upgrade the way that I was used to. I I cannot believe that this employee works in such a customer based company. I enjoy AT&T's service, so is quite unfortunate that I had an awful experience at this specific store because I had so many great, helpful trips here. My father is a engineering manager for AT&T and I've never had a worse experience at a AT&T store. For starters since we do upgrade and buy accessories often, I'm use to going to store fronts to get help. We all purchased the new iPhones and 2 of us were having trouble getting it set up. After watching videos , reading instructions etc. I wanted to get help setting up both of the phones and giving them our old phones. As I have been in many AT&T stores I know that the store employees including manager is supposed to approach you if there's no one at their desk so they can get you sign into the waitlist. Me and my friend stand in the store for 5 minutes waiting on a women that is completely by herself at her desk to approach us. Sadly she didn't feel we deserved the customer service. We then go to her desk and have to initiate contact to ask about the wait etc. When we do this she tells me she won't be able to get to me and that I need to just go online and figure it out myself. We were a bit confused because I already told her that I tried and was having trouble. She then says it could be a 3 hour wait because they have 9 before on the waitlist and only 4 employees. For each employee to not be able to assist one customer a hour is also mind blowing to me. Showing that they may not be trained correctly. Even though the wait is long we then have to ask to get on the waiting list because she was basically just trying to make us leave the store. She then gets my info and tells me I could be helped tonight or they would contact me tomorrow to reschedule if needed. That was 2 days ago. I'm unsatisfied with the little help i got and I never received a follow up call. I will be taking my business to other AT&T store fronts and actively telling my peers that use AT&T to not visit the Vernon Hills store. My uverse had stopped working today. Visited the store by my work. Shah just took over and got on the phone with tech support he they found there was a issue with my service and while he was in my account found out I was paying for a feature that I should not have been. So while he was on the phone he had his back hand team fix the issue and even got me a huge refund. Definitely going back to the store and going to work with Shah only. Had a terrible time at this AT&T store today! Kid seemed like he did not have enough training. He said I needed to go to an Apple store. I am doing a simple transfer. Some transfer issues were things easily done with basic knowledge. I am saying this because I had a similar issue a few years ago with my wife's phone. I had a more knowledgeble person help me in the past here. Ugh there are good staff at this store however, I got a bad one today. I am a bit frustrated because it was a total waste of time. FRAUD. My parents have been long time customers of ATT for all of their digital services. They are in their late 70's and my father has dementia. They went into the Vernon Hills store to get new remote controls for their Uverse but somehow walked out with DIRECTV streaming service and two streaming boxes as they were told by the sales person this "was better". As you can imagine they called me confused and asked me to come over to help. I took them and the boxes back to the Vernon Hills store to return the boxes and cancel. After quite sometime at the store and a lot of confusion "accessing their account" we were refunded the boxes and told to call and cancel the streaming service. When I called ATT they said there was no streaming service on the account so thought we were done with this hassle. Yesterday my father noticed his bank account a charge for 89.99 for DIRECTV streaming service and found they have been charged for the last 3 months. . Long story short - after an hour on the phone with ATT customer service (who was by the way was absolutely amazing!) we found out the local store had set up a NEW account in my mothers name with a fake email account, which is why when we called to cancel the service we were told there was no streaming on their account. Complete and total fraud!! I have reported this to the corporate office. Both the sales person and the manager are complicit as they knew exactly what had been done. So for an entire month, we were on the phone with Customer Care, until finally we were told to return to this store and have them refund us, and if we got any trouble to have the manager call them Roxanne wouldn't do it, and laughed me out of the store. I grew up with AT&T while my boyfriend grew up with Comcast. When we moved into our condo he signed us up for Comcast right away before I could say anything. After a few months of paying more than we should have been for comcast, I finally got him to go into the vernon hills AT&T store. We were greeted first thing (actually before we got through the door) and helped promptly. We worked with Arban who was very kind and knowledgable. We've been back a couple times to get our cell phone plans merged and there has been the same level of professionalism each time. read more

Alright me and my family have been using AT&T for years and this has been the go to location for us. Every time we have a problem, every time we have a concern we just pop on in and they help us out. Just this last time I had a warranty issue and they did everything in their power to make my life easier when they could have told me to go and pound sand and call a 1800# ( I am guessing the decent service is why it's always busy) anyway I had to give this location and it's staff props keep doing what you do and we will keep coming back thanks guys. read more

About a week and a half before Christmas I purchased 3 phones and a case from the AT&T store in Vernon Hills to give as Christmas gifts. The phones were a hit, but the case was not one my son wanted. The box was never opened. On my first day off work since the holiday I attempted to return the case to the store and was told of the company's 14 day return policy, and that there was nothing that could be done about it. I am a long term AT&T customer, and know I pay more than I would at competitors, and have historically received very good customer service levels in-line with paying higher prices. It baffles me as to why the store would not take a return for a $50 case from a long term loyal customer who spent well over $1000 on phones at the same time the case was purchased. It's off to EBay to ditch the case at a loss. Be very wary of doing business here. read more

Only go to this store and AT&T if you have no other choice. If Delano is the employee helping you, ask for someone else. He put a bogus "installment" plan on my bill. I asked him how the phone could possibly be so cheap and he said he was just trying to provide the best experience while we were in the store. Never, at any point, did he say there was an installment plan on the phone. The phone ended up being nearly $1K with the installment plan. They did a terrible job correcting the issue. When we went to contest this issue they agreed they were having problems like this but did not remove the installment plan, just reduced it. Triple check your receipt and what you are signing for at the end!! read more
