Verizon does not value longtime customers. I wanted to upgrade my phone from my iPhone 13 mini and the only way they would do that is if I paid for the phone monthly or I upgraded my plan. I think it's ridiculous that they'll give new customers free phones, but they will not take care of longtime customers. read more

After a botched up promotion from Verizon Headquarters, I walked in to the store and spoke about the situation with Oscar. He immediately reviewed the order and notice the errors. After sometime, contacting Headquarters, Oscar jumped through many hoops, including supervisor's approvals to get the promotion correct. These days you can't buy this type of personal service. I would like to say been a customer of Verizon for 8+ years and about it change just cause they don't care about there customers especially this store I placed a order for the new iPhone 15 pro first day and still been waiting on it and had phones to trade in which there was a promo going on for 850 now there trying to give me 250 per phone on my 12 models when I have a receipt showing everything on deal was supposed to get so long story short from the sales to the managers, nobody gets back to you contacted Verizon customer service. Walked in to get a new iPhone--the rep unbeknownst to us played a shell game, explaining that our plan would be upgraded, we'd get a new device in addition to the phone and all was great at nearly the same cost. EXCEPT when the bill came the new device was a separate charge along with an added line charge. (This was never explained). Five stars to Verizon (800 number) which reversed all that. Five stars to servicing of the new phone by others there. This is not a place you want to spend your time waiting, which seems to have great possibilities for that. read more

I was underwhelmed with the service from Andre. I could tell that he didn't want to be there and he had no issue showing it. Throughout my time there, he talked down to me and made several comments like "it's basic math". He behaved as if helping and answering my questions was a huge inconvenience to him. Worst Verizon location I've been to. I went with my husband to merge our accounts and upgrade a phone. The rep John started out by beginning the line transfer which he could not complete and continued to request my ssn several times. After multiple failed attempts he gave us a phone number to call and finish the process. He then got the new phone and promptly asked us to leave without further support because the store was closing. We would have better off not going into the store at all, huge waste of time. read more

Is 1 guy a greeter only that doesn't know the basic service? If that's the case ok. Then there is 4 employees and 3 customers. One of the worst experiences ever at a Verizon store thanks to Omar and Manny...went in were there for 20 mins without being helped. Manny and Omar were walking the store and working on not sure together for that 20 mins. I took a photo to report it back to corporate. They had enough time to go to the back and watch their recordings. They came back out and threatened to trespass me if I did not delete the picture of them not working from my phone. They stated it was against "Verizon's policy" to take a picture inside the store. After a phone call IMMEDIATELY with the corporate office they denied that that was the company policy. read more

I went with my son to switch from the phone he was using to another phone. It required removing all his data, changing SIM cards, etc . It was busy in the store and two employees were at lunch. The person who greeted us at the door, Glenn Grant, also wound up helping us for almost 45 minutes jumping from the help desk to the door (to register new people as they entered the store) then back to the help desk. He knew and did everything. Upon leaving I wanted to give him a fairly substantial tip for how hard he worked but he refused saying it was against store policy. I offered two more times but each time he politely declined. I haven't seen this type of dedication and loyalty in awhile. How refreshing. read more

One of sales people, KNOWINGLY per notes that he entered on the account, increased our bill by $60 a month without telling us for a service WE DID NOT ASK FOR. In addition, when I point blank asked him if a change was made to one line if it would affect another, he said no. When it affected all the other line, increasing our bill even more, he said "oh well there's nothing I can do about it" . I have tried giving this store the benefit of the doubt because I understand people make mistakes but this has happed more than five times with this specific store. Terrible customer service, hidden UNWANTED charges simply get applied, no accountability and when confronted about it all you get is a "Tough, nothing I can do". Would be in everyone's best interest to not go to this store because they will do some sneaky stuff and wrongfully charge you extra for things you don't want. Highly recommend going yo the store in Fox Lake, smaller but a hell of a lot better customer service. read more

The guy talked me into upgrading my phone because it was "free" with the promotion. But he said the color I wanted wouldn't ship until June 10th (this was end of May). I said that was fine and he acted put out (maybe he gets more commission for devices sold in-store and that's why he lied - because the device shipped June 2 and arrived June 3). Additionally, I mentioned to him I saw something online about no activation fee. He vehemently denied this was possible. I found out later would have been no activation fee if I just placed the order online myself - he just didn't share that. These employees are only out for themselves. read more

Great for selling you the phone. No service afterwards. If there is a an issue they seem more interested in sending you to the manufacturer than helping you. I have Had long waits to talk to a. person. I then tried chat, and there was an issue with that as well. I also had an issue in that I wanted to trade in a phone after my son . I scheduled an appointment at the store and then was called and they said that I had to handle via customer service. It took me three more times until I got a label to return. I have also reduced coverage since I am out of work. I have been told this is done, and then it has not been done. The quality of the service is great! The issue is when you need help. If you can deal with continual breakdowns in Customer Service, I encourage you to get Verizon coverage. read more

Terrible customer service. Actually no customer service I have Verizon service for my cell phone coverage. So I went to the Verizon store in Vernon Hills to purchase a new phone. Since I have a monthly plan they referred me to Best Buy to purchase a phone. Which I did. There was a pairing problem with the new phone and the sims card from my previous phone. Best Buy was great at looking up my account and checking everything but told me that it seemed to be a Verizon issue. So I go over to Verizon and they don't look up my account, are not interested in resolving the pairing issue. They tell me I should go back to Best Buy and that they will have to give me a new phone. There solution was not to worry about it since the phone was working. That was it. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE to attempt to figure this out. . I called Verizon support and within a few minutes this wonder lady says that the old sims card wont work in the new phone and to go back to the store for an updated sims card. Which I did. Its bad when a non-tech person has to trouble shoot and return to the store and explain what needs to be done. If I had experienced this service before puchasing a new phone I would of switched cell phone carriers. read more

I don't write reviews but I need to second what others have said that these people are crooks. Morgan hid behind a screen and did not show me what plan I was signing up for. I asked repeatedly why I was being charged the amount that she was quoting. because I had done my research online and knew how much my plan should be for what services I actually wanted. only as the store was closing. did they finally print me a receipt and I found out I was signed up for two services I did not agree to totaling an additional $27 per month. I had explicitly asked to not be signed up for one of the services and the second one I was never even told about until I got the confirmation email. I was also conveniently locked out of my account so I couldn't even edit any of this myself. I had to go to another Verizon store immediately after to try and cancel these services as soon as possible. I feel like these people are just trying to pump up their stats with corporate, and no one's paying attention to what's actually going on. read more

You would expect that most CSRs want to provide the best customer service possible, instead they play hot potatoes with their customers and try to pass them to other employees until the customers get fed up with the nonsense and leave. had Verzion for about 6 years. my family was entitled to the Veterans discount after the first 4 years I had to fill out the paperwork again which was no proble. the paperwork was completed and accepted after 6 months and several calls the discount and back credit was never receive, I finally switched to AT&T I am now paying less than half of the Verzion bill and I the coverage is just as good plus the entire family now gets free hotspots. read more

I went into the Vernon Hills location Verizon store today and explained the issue with my phone, the gentleman that was helping me told me that I needed to replace my SIM card. He gave me a new one and I replaced it and mid-replacing it, he tells me that it's probably not going to work, the phone that is. I ask why and he tells me that all iPhone XR's are not working and Apple is currently having an issue with it. He told me I needed to go to the Apple store to fix this and there is nothing he could do. He did not tell me this before I removed my SIM card, thus my phone was completely not working at this point. I went straight to Apple and waited for many hours before being told that I need to go back to Verizon because it's not something Apple can help with. I ended up going to a different Verizon location where they told me that they just needed to activate the SIM card from their end and there were no said issues with iPhone XRs. So not only was gas wasted, but time was wasted as well going back and forth thinking I'd have to buy a whole new phone. I expected better customer support and more knowledgeable staff from the company that I've been part of for the past 12 years or so. read more

I'm a little late on my review, but I have nothing but high praise for Danny at this location! I usually dread the process of upgrading my phone/plan and get quite nervous about the change over, but Danny was extremely helpful, kind, personable, and so much fun to work with. Danny made sure that my mom and I received the most for what we were paying for and also took it upon himself to find the absolute best deals for our new plan. He took the time to thoroughly explain each part in detail leaving us with zero doubt in him or the process. I also get massive anxiety when my phone info is being transferred over to a new one, but Danny swiftly and precisely moved over our content with ease and confidence. My new devices felt like nothing had happened at all and picked up right where they left off. During this transaction my mom and I also received two Hum devices. I did not have my car at the time of purchase and Danny just told me to swing by later and he'd take care of it. I came in during the last hour before closing and the store was packed. He was working with another customer who was going over some contractual things and literally slipped out and installed my Hum in less than a minute and was back to his customer. It was incredible because he knew I was leaving to head out of town and made it a priority and not making me wait around. Back tracking a bit...Danny had actually worked with my dad before over some of the devices he had for his business, I had no idea of this, but when I walked into the store with my dad Danny recognized him and remembered details about him that most employees would never bother with. THIS is what you call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I so wish there were more people out there like Danny. I seriously have never met such a wonderful, great-humored, and personable employee at a Verizon store. If you're seeking the best person to work with at this location, Danny is your guy! I am +10 year long Verizon customer and I have gotten nothing, but disrespect from this location. I cannot even give a name on who I had a negative experience with as they did not even bother to mention who they were or ask who I even am. This location is not interested in helping you unless you are purchasing a new device or adding features to your plan. I had asked to go over my payment options as I wanted to confirm their online exclusions. Upon entering I was simply given a phone number and told to buzz off. This location will lie to you about their promotions and plan details as often I would get charged extra $10 a month for fees that they told me is waived for the promotion, excluded due to my status as a loyal customer, etc. Each and every single time I was lied to and had to dispute the chargers over the phone. Each employee and manager has been useless and continue to hide behind lies to maintain business. I have stayed with Verizon due to their excellent online support, but this store alone lead me to explore other carriers. If I could give a negative star review at this location, I would. This type of customer service is beyond unacceptable. Having to lie to customers to get business is not acceptable. If a rep from Verizon would like to speak further about my situation I would love to. I have already filed a formal complaint through phone service, and would love to continue to explain how terrible I have been treated as a customer at this location. read more

The manager of this location is extremely rude and my friends have told me the same thing. Calling corporate won't do anything because they don't care about their customers. They have grown to big and bureaucratic to care. If you are a customer you probably don't even realize you are being ripped off. The employees are trained to lie to you about what kind of deals they offer. Either that or they are completely incompetent about what their company offers. I had to switch to t mobile because of how bad of an experience I had with that horrible witch. I really hope she has been fired by now. Granted the service I get from T mobile isn't as good as Verizon but it isn't worth switching back because Verizon only cares about getting new customers and not keeping their loyal customers satisfied. Lets just say sucks, sucks, sucks! I went to switch over my entire family and I was going to wait a few more weeks until the Galaxy 5 came out to switch myself. I was coaxed into switching that day by the manager because he assured me that if he gave me a Galaxy mini for the 2 weeks he could then switch me to the Galaxy 5 on its launch date. I took the bate and switched that day. Then on launch day I strolled in very excited to get my new Galaxy and the same manager looked at me like I was crazy and mentioned I had to keep the mini for a certain period of time. He was sure he must have mentioned this when I signed the contract. I went ballistic and mentioned that I told him on numerous occasions I was only switching if I could get the Galaxy on the launch date. He mentioned that he never promised that because nobody knew what the launch date was. I said pretty much every idiot on the planet with Google knew what the launch date was so I find it shocking that the manager of a Verizon store was in the dark about the date. At the end of the day I was lied to, talked down to and misled (and to think I thought Sprint sucked). FYI - I called in twice today to see if the waiting period had elapsed and both times waited on hold for 15 minutes and gave up and hung up the phone. I think my next move is a $20 burner from Walmart or if you do purchase from Verizon do it online and have it sent to you. Anything to avoid the store from getting a dollar of your hard earned money! Terrible customer service and the workers do not know how to educate customers on the use of their new phone. The worker also took out the SIM card and kept it. That is theft, as private info. is on the sim that can be stolen. I told the worker you just took my old sim and she said,"you can only have one SIM card" I wonder if she is stealing my private info.The store in Gurnee is not much better. The workers tell people to go to Best Buy to learn how to use the phone you buy at Verizon. Had to give one star but it really should be a minus.
