This place is good to kill some time, and also spend all your money haha This particular At Home is in a Dead mall, but At Home is what keeps that mall in business. It's great to find decor pieces for your home, or little things for DIY projects, and lots of unique things you won't find anywhere else. I just say pass on the furniture, it's too over priced for what it is, and most of the time they have scratches on it and aren't out of the best materials. This Garden Ridge is shoved in the end of a deadman's mall. There really isn't anything in this mall but an antique store. It is completely abandoned. Kinda like the mall in Dawn of the Dead. All that aside...This Garden Ridge is HUGE and actually has a lot of stuff for a house. We bought quite a few things here to be honest. The Garden Ridges in Kentucky are like half this size and semi trashy. You can get anything here from Furniture ( indoor or outdoor), pictures, pots, fake plants, bedding, pillows, kitchen ware, decor in general, candles and much much more. This place is huge and has all the tacky yard decorating items I was looking for. The checkout line is just a huge as the building itself. There was one teenager checking out for quite some time. While waiting, I had time to look-over and judge other people's carts. One woman delcared that her yard was so full of pink flamingos that it could be seen from space. Was able to find what I was looking for. Large selection. Had an employee help us look up to see if an item was in stock and she was really helpful. However, the guy who checked us out was horrible! He was rude, condescending, unhelpful and just overall not a good employee. The man rolled his eyes and smirked at me and my friends while trying to get a coupon to pull up, made snide little comments after everything we said, and seemed to be doing everything in his power to try and make my friends and I feel dumb. He refused to help us with anything or even be nice about anything. I was raised to be nice to everyone, but I had a hard time not speaking my mind to this guy. The whole situation bothered me and no matter what this guy was going thru, that is not how you treat paying customers. I would never want an employee of mine to act like he did. While this Garden Ridge is similar to all the others in terms of merchandise (sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you overpay for cheap crap), customer service (hit or miss), the 'mall' that this one is located in? Yeah. It's creepy. It seems like a zombie movie waiting to happen. The 'mall' closes at 9pm, but Garden Ridge claims to be open til 10pm. We pulled up at 930 to grab something since we were on this side of town. We couldn't figure out which door to go in (after driving around the entire thing, we found the one closest to the Garden Ridge). There were about 6 cars in the parking lot, but it just felt sketchy and weird. So we decided not to go in. I called this location to ask if the Lewisville one was still open (no one was answering the Lewisville phone), and when a person finally answered she said "yes they're open" oh okay do you have an alternate phone number or anything? The one on the website no worky "well uh I do, but it's only on this phone and I can't look it up while I'm on the phone with you. So if you wanted to hang up and call back....?" Nah that's cool. What she failed to mention is that Garden Ridge is changing it's name to "At Home"- I saw a tiny sign inside the creepy mall when I was trying to figure out if anything was open. It's not on the website, even though that's fairly useful info. Oh well. I'll go the extra few miles to Lewisville where it's not as creepy. read more

I used to enjoy shopping at Garden Ridge ( Plano). I didn't mind the crowds either but it seems to be oddly and uncomfortably deserted. The cashiers are not quite rude but as hot as it is outside, I wouldn't want to deal with them right now -maybe they feel the strangeness too And that contributes to their attitude. The merchandise has changed - not for the better either. The furniture section is just plain eerie Several items I looked in the garden section were broken and I left empty-handed the last 2 times. Sad. Oh and the no check policy sucks. read more

I used to love Garden Ridge. Recently, it seems like their selection is going down hill. This saddens me but I haven't gotten to the point where I'm kicking them to the curb. Yet. This is a great place to visit if you are looking for inexpensive home decor, holiday items, party supplies and housewares. How often do you find a place where you can go to buy fake flowers AND scrubs? Customer service is hit or miss but whatever. This isn't the kind of place you go to for customer service. However, you should check this place out if you're looking for mason jars, candle holders, accent furniture, lamps, garden decor, rugs, cheap books, As Seen On TV items, paintings... Love this store and all the wonderful things it has to offer! I had to make a return and because I am a perks member (free to sign up at any cash register or online!) I didn't even have to provide my receipt! Fantastic customer service and even though the lines can be long, they move very quickly. Be careful buying things here. They are incredibly hard to work with on returns. My daughter who lives out of town bought two rugs from here, kept one and I went to return the other one. She could not find the receipt. Tommy, the store manager at the Plano location on US 75, would not exchange the rug or issue store credit because he said he could not verify that the purchase was within 60 days. He said he was able to make an exception but would not. He seemed to enjoy being a jackass. Buy your items at Target or TJMaxx. This store is awful! read more

What a sad excuse for a furniture store. We found two chairs that we really wanted but when we came back they were gone. These stores have no systems on helping you find what you need. This store advised us that they had the two chairs somewhere, but no way to find them. When we were told they would send someone to help us, no one came. When we walked back to the front of the store, the employees were sitting there chatting- what a joke. You cannot order online or over the phone from other stores. We will never be back to any of their stores. read more

Was so excited to go here. Great ideas wonderful selection. Since we are new to Texas we were excited. Picked our sone decor. I had joined the club this morning. However it takes 24 hours to get the 10% discount coupon, and then you have to use it in 30 days. Very disappointed. We drove 25 minutes spent $300 and no discount. Bor excited about that. I would like to recognize this store for the best customer service I've had in a long time anywhere. Even on Black Friday with all shopping carts in use, they went out of their way to help me exchange a Christmas tree (even though I had no receipt). I liked Garden Ridge. At Home is the same place. If you need some inexpensive decor, At Home is the place to start.

My main problem with this Garden Ridge is the shotty "mall" or strip center it's located in. I swear it makes it look like a super dodgy place that you are scared to even set foot in. Once you get past the shady exterior, the actual selection and pricing of stuff here is pretty good. I find that most of their decor LOOKS as cheap as it is, but every now and then you find something great here. They have a great throw pillow and rug selection, which is nice. I go through both of those frequently since I have two giant dogs, so it's nice to purchase these on the cheap. I like to look through their big "as seen no tv" section - I'm addicted to infomercials and Garden Ridge carries it all! read more

The most akward thing about it is its location inside an old mall? you have to walk thru the mostly abandoned with a few stores (a bokstore, antique store, misc store) before arriving at the entrance of the Garden Ridge. read more

Huge store with extensive selection of home goods. Prices comparable to Bed Bath & Beyond. Negative are SEVERAL items I chose but missing price stickers, hmmmm, staffers just as lost as I was. Also, count on being in a single LONG LINE, only Two cashiers were svheduled with about 15 of us in line...we asked but got nothing. This was a TUESDAY at noon. A couple of customers didn't ha e the time so they left baskets and items in line. read more

Be careful! They sell very low quality products and then hide behind 90 days return policy! I bought rugs from the store. After few weeks, I noticed white powder residue under the rugs. I vacuumed them 10s of times. Nothing helps. New residue comes off the rugs every few days. They refused refund because I found the problem after 90 days. read more

I wanted to do an exchange at this store and I found the staff, in particular the manager on duty, to be extremely unhelpful and rude. I wanted to swap an outdoor cushion over to a larger one, therefore keeping the money within the store and I was told that he could do nothing without the receipt. I had only bought it the day before, (he even served me the day before), it was still in the bag and had all the original tags attached, I had spent almost $300 and was trying to spend some more! This was of no interest to him at all, which is very surprising considering he was the manager!! He said he cannot do returns, exchanges or store credit and I was stuck with the wrong sized cushion. This store and the manager, do not care about customer service and I will seriously re- think about returning to this store again. read more

Drove to Mesquite At Home from Rockwall for Christmas light bulbs--that location had 4 in stock and needed 5 more. So I purchased 4 and used 10% and was advised there was another location in Plano and can ask the store to honor the same coupon. I called them and no one answered. So I drove to Plano in hopes to find some additional lights---luckily I got the last 5. After checking out the clerk Racheal did not allow us to use the previous coupon. I advised if she can make an exception since we drove all the way from Rockwall to mesquite to Plano in search of these lights and we just used the coupon in Mesquite. I also explained how I would of purchased all of the lights at Mesquite if they had them. I showed my receipt to her which says I bought 4 of the same lights with the coupon just an hour before. She continued to say no and I asked for a manager. She called the manager and once he approached (older guy, think his name was Mike) he didn't ask us what happened. He turned to the Racheal and Racheal pretty much explained to him that was trying to get a discount for free. In my amazement I turned to him and explained my side where I told I already used it but since I have a receipt showing I just drove from mesquite and I want to purchase 5 more (approx $100) If he could make an exception. He replied back sternly I can't give you something like and Rachel mentioned she "liked her job too much to do something like that" I was purely just asking for an exception, a nice customer service opportunity. Racheal then said the cameras are watching. And that they are close to corporate. I didn't understand why she said that? Was I stealing something? Did I ask something illegal?? I will def not shop here again. The worst customer service. If they would have explained with professionalism or even kindness I would of been fine. (Side note I was not planning on writing a complaint so I'm not positive of the names) they both need training in customer service and please if you are having a bad day find a new job! read more

I just came from this store to make a return. I had purchased a tree skirt AFTER Christmas with the understanding that I would be fully refunded if it didn't fit my new tree. I was going to measure my tree and come back to purchase it. However, the cashier (as I was purchasing other items) assured me that since it was after Christmas, I would be refunded the full amount that I paid, as long as I had my receipt. The tree skirt was originally $39.99 and it was 50% off. So, today, I went to make the return and a manager was at the register. He said I would only get $9.99 for it. I told him what I was told and he said that there was no way his employee would say that. By the way, he was completely rude and disrespectful in the process. Basically, calling me a liar. He kept pointing at the return policy sign and said that the computer would not allow a change. He was very condescending and my 4 year old was there to watch. I've never heard of a manager not being able to overwrite a price on anything. Also, I didn't appreciate the attitude he gave. Basically, a scam if you're going to accept returned merchandise for more than a person paid for it. Even if their employee says otherwise. I tried e-mailing them and this is the response I got "Our policy is posted at every register and printed on every receipt. We can't make any exception. Thanks". I wrote back to get a # to reach them. They wrote back with "I'm sorry, we can't assist you further". By the way, I've NEVER written a review before on anything. I just felt I had to here. Buyer beware. I just read a review for another store of theirs. They had a similar review on an item that was broken. read more
