I went here a few times this summer to inquire about a hot tub. As never having owned one, I had many questions. The staff seemed to not want to go out of their way to any question. Been going to at home Recreation for many years. Bought a new cover for my pool. Water was getting through the cover from inside the pool. I was pumping it off not knowing it was coming from the poo. Went back to get new cover they said it's not covered under there policy. The manager told me this is normal. Not happy will never buy from them again read more

A big shout out to all recreation Hazlet store they went out of their way yesterday when I went to buy a tree. I chose my tree they went in the back came back said it was discontinued no more in the store they could have ended it there but a very nice sales person sorry I didn't get his name looked up on the computer for any other store in their company so that it could be shipped to Hazlet. these guys scoured the back room and found me a tree when I got home it was even nicer than it was on display. I want to thank them for going that extra mile I go there for my pool supplies four years now and thought they were very nice now I think they are over the top sorry I didn't get names I'd like to thank them. Five stars. Boom! Anyway, putting a new deck on my swimming pool, took off the aluminum job that came with it. So now I need three top caps, should be pretty Easy. Nope. I'm in North Jersey, went to two local guys and they both shook their heads (from behind their masks). I'm getting anxious, so I do a Google search, find my pool manufacturer went belly up and now what...At Home Recreation saves the day! Went on their website and they have a great layout with pictures of everything. I knew a part number so that was helpful to confirm when I thought u found what I was looking for. Placed my order and crossed my fingers. Next day I got an email confirming shipment but I also got an email from Tim thanking me for my business. I really appreciated that. Had a terrible experience here. Moral was horrible. The employees could care less. When i asked questions they had no knowledge and brushed me off. I came in originally for the Pool Blaster. The associate waved me off saying it was in the back left corner. It wasn't. It was a Pool Blaster leaf pickup attachment. When i came back to explain i'm looking for the vacuum he was clueless. The ladder which i wasn't looking to get but is an upsale for them. I reached out but they could care less. The employee who was an older guy walked away as quick as be could. I had to go to the backroom myself to make sure they had it in stock. The guy in the back told me they're short staffed. In the end the ladder was 4 boxes but they brought out 3. Thank god one of the employees picked up on it and realised it was 4. I'm really not a nit picker but this was horrible. I'm a manager myself and if my staff was like this heads would roll. I spent $1200.00 for the ladder and pool supplies. No more. Add On Pools and Leslie going forward. read more

The store itself is clean and has all the stuff you need, but that's why they get one star. The staff here is miserable and simply give you the feeling that they truly don't care. Listen I get it you guys have some young kids that work there and I don't expect much from them however a modicum of respect, care and knowledge isn't too much to ask. My husband and I went into the store and we were greeted by Gary Glass ..He showed us all the pools they had to offer and explained in detail all the sizes of the pools and cost etc.. He was very knowledgeable and very friendly! Some thing that I thought was going to give me a headache looking at because of the cost and the stress turned into a very nice experience! They always answer all of my many questions and guide me to what needs to be done. They have helped me through pool closing, opening and maintenance.
