I called them to have them come out to fix my filter. I told them what was wrong and asked them if they carry the parts on their truck, i was told yes. They came and had to come back with parts.... They hit me with another $125 service fee. Then when they closed my pool they charged me additional $ for plugs. They said they couldn't find the originals. I was home, why didn't they ask me? No response!!! I told them you guys opened the pool, I never touched them... they said sorry. They are getting very greedy, Jay in nickeling and dimming us.... Its a shame. Ive used them in the past and was very pleased. This year was a disaster. 1. Opening: I contracted them to open my pool. After allegedly testing my slide, heater, etc i was told everything was in working order. I attempt to turn my heater on and it woudnt fire up. When i called i was told it was working with no issue when they tested it, and it would be days to get someone over to look at it. I did my own research and found that after i opened the cover, the gas line valve was off. Tell me, how was this working when they were here? Answer.. it wasnt, they lied. One would think that if you are a professional pool company who deals with filters and heaters regularly that you would be able to troubleshoot this over the phone. 2. Weekly Maintenance - I prepaid for the entire summer for weekly maintenance. I cant tell you how many times my pool was green this summer and we couldnt swim in it. I would constantly complain and they would send the same clueless tech out to look at it. Half the time they didnt even vacuum although they allege they did. Not once did they every offer any type of discount or credit for any of the issues or mistakes they made. I told them that in previous years they were great, but this year was a major fall off. They told me that they have a new person cleaning my pool and i told them i want someone new. Nothing changed either. Still the same issues prevailed. I dont recommend them at all - they do not understand what customer service is - if they did, they would have actually remedied the issues once and for all. read more

Mystic pools is the biggest bunch of thieves in the pool industry. Let's start with the obvious...they didn't close my pool nor refund me for the prepaid service. It's been 9 months since I have been asking. It all went downhill when they first told me I needed a new pump. Sold me one for my tiny pool one that is more suited for a larger one. Turned out didn't need to spend 2k on such an elaborate pump and my pump was not even broken. It was a circuit breaker. So the fact that they diagnose it was the pump when there was no power going to anything by the pool with a little shady. Because I actually believe them and I gladly give them $2000 thinking it would solve my problems. the next week they told me I needed a new regulator. So I agreed for $200 to get a new regulator. The gentleman who clean the pool suggested this, but however, they could not clean the pool, because there was no power going to the pool, so I'm not sure what they did. Besides, tell me I need a new regulator. The day of installation for the regulator. I'm told the entire filter needs to be replaced. And that it's not the regulator. Get an estimate for $3000. This gentleman who also works for the company told me that the pool pump they sold me was a little bit excessive for the size of my pool and that I did not need something that expensive. Proving that they are even bigger rip offs, if their own employees are saying it. Needless to say, I moved forward with other contractors in the area who gave me estimates at a fraction of the price for the exact same filter. They all agreed that the pump I was told was excessive and unnecessary and that I had been ripped off. Mystic Pool aside from ripping me off, has never cleaned my pool, and did not do any of the services they were supposed to perform aside from opening it. I pre-paid for closing, and they still have yet to refund the money or get back to me. Did you not answer the text messages? They do not return my calls. They do not respond to my emails on my posts. Avoid at all costs. Not only does Jay and crew do substandard work but he also doesn't honor his own warranty. Since my below review, the pool developed a leak, losing 7/16" every 23hrs. We are topping off every 2 days. Communicated to Jay & Mark back on August 6, along with pictures of tape applied to skimmer wall and again 23hrs later showing the loss of water. Since then, I've gotten nothing but runaround. Sporadic emails days/week apart, "trying to get a hold of diver", won't return any calls, voicemails, or text messages. "Diver was there Sept 9", but no confirmation of when he was here, what the findings were, when & how the leak will be fixed. Not a single returned phone call despite my repeated requests for an update. Moments after receiving one of their emails, Jay or Mark always seem to be "out of the office" when I call their shop. In the meantime, I continue to pay for additional water & chemicals. Additionally, leaks have formed where piping was installed as part of the filter install Mystic performed. Jay and Mystic are liars and crooks, pure and simple. Non stop aggravation after paying them close to $12,000 this summer. We chose Jay over several other competing bids for a replacement liner as we wanted to support a local guy who we thought would oversee all work and have a complete handle on services performed (as he promises). Turns out, it was the opposite. The quality of work was subpar and Jay did a poor job overseeing the work. We paid $3,200 for a fresh coat of vermiculite and repairs to the dry well on top of the $5,925 charge for the liner installation. The new vermiculite coat should have ensured a consistent, relatively smooth surface below the liner. Instead what we got were large clumps (vermiculite), boot prints near the shallow end steps, countless indentations and pits underneath the liner, and many wrinkles. And this was just in the shallow end- I gave up on the issues in the deep end. When Jay sent this crew back to fix it, guess who was present to supervise the work? Not Jay. Not anyone from his shop. Given how shocked and angry Jay was when I raised the issues to him, you would have expected him to be there to ensure that everything was resolved. I had to take 2hrs away from my family to supervise the crew, walk around the pool and point out the countless issues, then get in the pool to review all the fixes. Absolutely ridiculous and the opposite of the kind of service Jay sells you on. In the end, the only thing they were able to address were large clumps of vermiculite which looked and felt like rocks under your feet in separate shallow areas. Unfortunately, this "fix" resulted in pits and the defects are still easily visible and felt when walking in those areas. Most of the wrinkles remained. There was no follow up at any point from Jay after his crew left. I again needed to hound him to explain that the "fixes" were unsatisfactory. After losing my patience, he finally showed up to inspect and told us that the pool needed to be drained to properly resolve the issues. And he was "accommodating enough" to do this after the summer. I mean are you kidding me? We paid over $9k just for the liner, have to deal with all the defects all summer, only to have to do this all over again at closing? I have very little faith at this point in Jay and his crew, but I fully expect him back to make all of this right. And finally, invoicing. On top of all these frustrations I found myself having to constantly hound Jay for invoices after seeing charges hit my credit card. His response each time? Check your spam box. There was nothing in my spam box, repeated this to him I don't know how many times, with screenshots. Jay had no problem getting emails to me when he was bidding new work. Finally, after losing my patience yet again, I had 8 invoices, some nearly a month old, hit my inbox. It's clear that Jay is only concerned about new business. He's too busy and completely overwhelmed, and quality of work, oversight of sub-contractors, and customer service is non-existent. Worst of all, he won't honor warranty. read more

I do not recommend this company. The sales Technician Josh was great to me for two years and sad not to work with him any longer as I am now done. This negative review does not reflect him. I was comfortable purchasing from him. He explained everything well for my purchases and I had zero issues. The owner does not have the common courtesy to pick up the phone to speak to and assure concerned repeat customers, but limit communication to a snarky text message. What professional company does that? If we'd had spoke like gentlemen, he'd have known what my concern was and why......didn't happen. Sometimes, closing a sale means alleviating a prospects concerns to help a transaction run smoothly and not by responding with (taking things personal) ignorance via text message. This seems to be their main line of communication through my experience with them. Never came to my home to measure or show samples like the other companies who came out. I did all the work to send my plans and all needed. I based all solely on the recommendation of Josh the Sales/Tech. Some may say I should have walked away from this deal early after reading this. I ignored the previous negative reviews to form my own opinion based upon my own experience. To be clear the owner responded (clearly out of touch) to my text message (That's all that they used with me) to the coordinator I assume. He asked for us not to do business instead of picking up the phone like a professional to see what was up. As a first time in-ground pool owner I was almost ripped off by a pool store like this and my guard was still up. I responded to the text message clearly seeing that he had me misunderstood (It happens when you only use text). I could have left things as they were and said forget it! As a professional, I responded in kind and suggested a call and received nothing. Again..what kind of professional does that, let alone the owner?? I spoke with my salesman about the issue and was going to give them another shot provided we have a conversation... Nothing! I received a better deal from a bigger box store though I would have paid the few dollars more to support the local guy like I do with most of my business, oh well for this time. The market will correct and cool. Businesses will need new customers. Referrals and reviews will be key at that time. Now is the time to connect with the customer more than ever during these uncertain times; not the time to be professionally ignorant. Never stepped foot in the store and never will. Called to ask the simplest of questions about when they close before driving out there (google says 4pm and yelp says 5pm). Woman who answered the phone could not have been more rude about the fact that they were closing "in like 2 minutes". With all the options of buying things these days customer service is KEY! Good service is when everything goes ok for routine jobs. Excellent service is when one thing or another does not go as planned and the service provider continues to take care of the customer and stands by his products and service until the customer is happy.
