I wanted to come here to get the A5 wagyu steak so I made a reservation on New Years Eve for my husband and I. We usually have a party at home every year so I wanted to do something different. I originally wanted to go to a nightclub with an open bar package but no one else did, so this restaurant was a nice compromise for my husband and I. We still got to go out somewhere and get dressed up, but we didn't have to deal with crowded places. They have great attention to detail. When we were seated our table had a sign with our name on it, beads, and a complimentary glass of champagne for New Years Eve which was a nice touch. The Executive Chef/ owner Alex came over to our table to go over the menu details and came back throughout the night to make sure everything was great. He was funny and very personable. He picked on me and made me laugh cause I was bugging him about the menu with a ton of questions a month ahead of time. We had a 5 course tasting menu. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. There was a few minor changes from the original menu on a couple of appetizers, but it wasn't a huge deal. My favorite dish was the wagyu steak obviously, it melted in your mouth and bursted with flavor. The foie gras was my second favorite dish. My husband ordered it but I was stealing some of his. It was probably the best foie gras we've had. The lobster bisque was a little bit darker color than I was expecting I think it could have used a little more cream, but still was good. The ravioli was very good as well. I would have liked a little bigger portions on some of the items. I know they couldn't make the wagyu too big because it's so expensive. But could have used a little more foie gras, and maybe 2 raviolis instead of just 1. My stomach was filled just enough after leaving, which I guess is better than being overstuffed and bloated. But a few hours later I was kind of hungry again and was snacking on stuff at home. We were greeted and seated very promptly, and the service was excellent. Restaurant was nice and warm on a cold evening which was great. Decor is understated chic, really appreciated the use of softer materials and sound management which made the evening pleasant. Ordered the Shepherd's pie and Branzino and the overall they were decent but probably not worth the prices. For the Shepherd's pie, whatever was used in preparing the potatoes on the top, the taste was awesome. Unfortunately, the filling was a little disappointing for a small crock at $48. First bite from the middle was cold, second bite from the edge was burning mouth hot. Filling was more like a sloppy joe consistency with few vegetables. Taste was fine but I felt like I could get this for $15 at a diner. I mentioned the temperature issue to the waiter, and he comped us a dessert which was very nice. My partner loved the branzino, nicely done, subtle spices, etc. but again rather expensive and partner was still hungry afterward and we are not big eaters. read more

Consistently the best restaurant on the Main Line. I love all the tasting menus, which rotate monthly, and I have also been trying the raw bar and their new cocktails, which are also fantastic. The experience of going to At the Table is also driven by their wonderful staff and ambiance; much of the staff has continued from the Louella drive location, which is sign of a good ownership. The new restaurant on Lancaster is spacious and never too noisy, which I often find at other Main Line establishments. I always looking forward to going back. read more

Haven't been for two years... We went for New Year's Eve to ring in 2021 and it was so over priced and not one thing on the menu could my vegetarian daughter eat. I moved to the area around 3 years ago from NYC and have dined at a lot of places in and around Philadelphia. I didn't have a place I loved enough to call it my favorite until I dined here. EVERYTHING was perfection. The food, the service, and the decor/ambiance. The chef and owner came out to chat with us often and it was lovely to learn about his experience and the reasoning behind the grayscale interiors of the restaurant. Amazing. Seating was outdoor due to Covid. They have a small table under the awning and bigger tables under tents across the street in the park. It started to drizzle which didn't slow down the staff of 3 or 4 at all. And then it began to pour. They got soaking wet making certain the patrons had an enjoyable dinner. The food was amazing and the service even better. I tipped the price of my meal. I had mushroom and cream cheese toast, and squid ink spaghetti with crab. Amazingly delicious. Ordered surf and turf pkg for Father's Day. Swordfish was great with peach salsa. Brisket was also good with Romesco sauce but meat was a bit too fatty. Wings were good but a bit dry. Pasta and corn salsa were all good in isolation. The problem was that the Romesco sauce, pasta, and corn salsa all kind of tasted the same. Stuffed mushroom was also not my favorite. Dessert was just rich brownie, which unfortunately I expected a bit more for $100. Will try again when pandemic is over but likely not again during this time. read more

The service was excellent but the food was just ok and not worth the extremely high prices. I paid $45 for a tiny portion of pasta that was not anything special. I've had much better meals at high end restaurants in the city for far less. Perhaps I chose the wrong entree but for these prices everything on the menu should be phenomenal. The mushroom toast appetizer was good but again not anything special and for $22 it should be. Also, the place was nice inside but where we sat, every so often I'd get a whiff of sewer in the air. SHAME on YOU! My purple rain coat was stolen from your coat closet. You said you viewed the security tape, saw the customer who took it, called the customer, and received no reply. I left you my contact information before I left the restaurant without a coat on a rainy cold night. I called a week later to follow-up and you said you would call me back and again reiterated that you would make this right. You never called me. You thought that comping our meal was enough. It was not. That night I lost the sense of safety. It doesn't matter how good your food is, when management is so horrible. And to the customer who stole my coat, if you could afford that dinner, you could afford to buy your own coat. SHAME on you too! It cost me over $200 to replace my coat and the hat that was lost too. read more

It was such an experience eating at the chef's table tonight. I grant you my wife and I rarely go out but we remember what restaurants are like -- we used go out all the time -- and this is the tops. It's such a rare luxury to have a place like THIS is in this area. Of course the food is all amazing. OK I'll go into some highlights. I loved the wagyu beef with black truffles. Just so soft/tender/buttery but also really flavorful. Sous vide with a searing :) Oh but wait the best part was actually being at the chef's table. My wife and I would be talking and the chefs would occasionally add to our conversation (as we were often talking about the food). I just loved them chiming in. I loved seeing all the food assembled in front of me. Dinner theater! I loved the extra courses. Just such a privilege. OK, back to the food. The lobster bisque was made with such a long reduction that it really was unique (yup, not on the menu, but it just came for our meal.) I loved the maitake mushrooms ; such good flavor. The caviar dish was just fun because there were about five toppings including a scallion mousse that you could just pick up and combine in different ways on a bread, with 3 types of caviar : trout, salmon, and paddlefish. The foie gras was just so indulgent and delicious. The toppings were fun too. I always like escargot and short ribs. And all this comes in one meal! I loved talking to the chefs. Just a great time. We went and sat outside on a lovely evening. It was busy, service was slow, which is expected, covid issues. Our waitress was a sweet, almost every member of the staff ask how we were. Phenomenal restaurant in Wayne about 20 miles west of the city. It was a bit of a trek out, but totally worth it! Their Sunday Supper is a amazing deal. It includes 4 carefully thought out and meticulously plated courses for $45. While the courses are not enormous, they provide more than enough sustenance. The meal began with an amuse bouche of butternut soup. It was a pleasant start. The first course consisted of house smoked trout toast and mushroom bisque. I don't usually enjoy smoked fish, but I took a gamble and thoroughly enjoyed it. The mushroom soup was luscious. The second course continued with foie gras and beet carpaccio. The foie was cooked to a perfect temperature and had elements of sweet, savory, and also acidity from pickled mustard seeds. The beet dish was as expected, however didn't compare to the foie. For the third course, we had the duck confit gnocchi and fettuccini carbonara. The gnocchi was well seasoned and fluffy. The carbonara was taken to another level with the rich Jidori egg on top. The meal concluded with a chocolate cake and peanut butter mousse. From start to finish, each course was executed well with many different elements to each. Dined at the oyster bar on the second day they were open. The new space is palatial compared to the first location. The ambience has a relaxed elegance and the vibe is chill. Our server was a consummate professional.He knew how to handle the high end bottles of wine we brought, made helpful suggestions and added an element of warmth and friendliness to our night out. The captain of the oyster bar for our seafood voyage was Chef Sean. His knowledge of seafood is astounding and he assisted us and making some terrific choices. We chose to get the seafood tower. Highly recommend for all seafood lovers. It is a nice variety of the raw bar offerings. It included elevated, house made versions of the traditional sauces you would have with seafood. I was delighted to find that caviar was included in the seafood tower. Chef Sean encouraged us to experiment with combining the caviar with different elements on the tower. It was great fun! The best meal I've ever had on the Mainline. We had the 6 course dinner and it was an amazing culinary journey. Many of the dishes were outside of my normal fare but we are every bite. Perfect for any time you want the best of Philadelphia but don't feel like driving. Definitely in my top 5 meals. Chef came out and talked a few times. He had a relaxed vibe and wanted to please. At the table is a much needed little restaurant tucked a way in a corner of Wayne. My husband and I were so delighted to learn that a BYOB with upscale foodie food had finally landed in our town. We were greeted by friendly competent staff who clearly had a vested interest in the restaurant. The server that pours the water was so adorable: A ninth-grade student from a nearby high school. I was impressed! At the table is coming close to that high level. The plating was beautiful, it reminded me of some (truely) five star restaurants I've been to In NYC, Nola and Nashville. Our table sat near the kitchen window so I could see chef and his kitchen staff working diligently on preparing each beautiful plate. One thing I felt that was missing last night was some sort of a delicious crusty bread, or crummy morsel of muffin. I recently have gone to a new large corporate style restaurant that served popovers. The popovers for the best part of the meal and everything else was in massive question so perhaps At The Table is working on the actual plates and not concentrating on extra stuff yet. The food is small and a good way but Bread with olive oil or with bread with some sort of whipped butter and Himalayan sea salt or something would have rounded out the experience. (but what do I know??) The opening bite was fantastic. We both really liked the lamb tartare for the amuse bouche. For first course; My husband and I shared the pretty "micro" salad. It seemed like each component was carefully prepared and seasoned in its self. There were creamy bites of different colored beats, crunchy nuts, Spring peas pea and carrot purée and ricotta. My favorite bite was the ribbon cucumber that had a nice vinegar kick. My husband commented that it could've used a splash of salt or one more dash of vinegar but I really loved the variety in this little pretty salad. I was thrilled that the fois gras was still on the menu and not priced out of my price range. (I've heard from a few people that the restaurant was expensive but I was not freaking out at the prices, so that's good) The fois was yummy with a really pretty plating that tasted good. (See my photo) The pickled mustard seads were innovative but I questioned whether he was holding back on tartness for the Wayne customers pallet. This is not a complaint just an observation and possibly more about the location than the plate. It was thrilling to have such a well thought out beautiful plate in my little town. I really really enjoyed my Seabass and recall one particular bite where I had to pause. The skin was beautifully crispy and extremely edible. I loved the plating. The fish set on nice accompaniments one being a finally chopped cauliflower that resembled couscous. I didn't think I was going to like it but on second bite really enjoyed it because I've never had cauliflower prepare that way. I found the seasoning on this plate spot on, and I think chef actually caught me having a Yummy appreciation pause. My husband had the spring fettuccine that had more on mushrooms and Ramps etc. etc. I had one bite and it tasted good but I felt like I could've been the base for a ragu bit then it would not have been vegetarian. Because we were on a date, we decided to splurge and have dessert. We gobbled up a flourless brownies/cake with berries and ice cream. Duh it was great, simple and not trying too hard. I love the intimate atmosphere and could have stayed longer for a cappuccino or something like that. At the table is off to a really good start, they're missing a couple little extra treats that would take this restaurant into the category of the five stars but I am really hopeful/confident and know that they are giving it the 5 star effort. I hesitated to even review the restaurant this time around because I've only been here once. I think they will have consistent 4-5 stars. They have my vote. Quaint BYOB in the heart of Wayne. We went on a Friday evening and sat inside. There is a tent for outdoor seating. A complimentary aperitif, salmon salad (?) with a pickled onion, was delicious. My husband started with the Mahi tacos (fresh and well seasoned) and I with the infamous mushroom toast. The mushroom toast is what dreams are made of, I could have easily made a meal out of this alone. We then had the scallop and steak entrees, both of which were very good and cooked to perfection. We were full and were going to pass on dessert but after finishing our wine, decided to share the beignets. OMG, this was the best fried dough we have ever had the pleasure of consuming! We had a very nice dinner here. We went with friends who were considering it for the site of a rehearsal dinner. It's a small space, with not a lot of room, but we didn't feel cramped. We were seated back near the kitchen. The place is small enough that it was actually pleasant to sit there and watch them plate the food. We went for the five-course tasting menu for $65. We got to choose between 3 items for each course, though it was frustrating that some of the choices involved a substantial extra charge, so we really only had two choices for those courses. Our first course was either duck rilletes toast or oysters on the half shell. Even my wife, who doesn't like duck, thought this was tasty. Second course was either escargot on agnolotti or maitake mushrooms in a coffee sauce. The escargot was good, but the mushrooms were amazing. Third course was lobster and crab salad or foie gras. Both were tasty. The lobster was the lighter of the two. I find foie gras very heavy, though this had a symphony of tastes to go with it. Main course was short rib or duck confit gnocchi. I didn't try the duck, but short ribs were good. Desert was also delicious. Service was very smart and attentive throughout. I highly recommend a visit. What an outstanding experience! The entire staff was wonderful. Greeted upon arrival, constant attention ensuring things were satisfactory, plates cleared promptly, water and wine glasses refilled and the kitchen was so accommodating! Our server, My wife is on an elimination nutrition program and, therefore, has several dietary restrictions. Alex, was excellent, thoroughly explaining each dish in detail and working with us to meet her restrictions. The Best Of 1.0 tasting menu was amazing, each course better than the last! My wife started with the watermelon poke bowl and had the swordfish entree modified to avoid the foods she could not eat. The chocolate torte was wrapped to take home so I could enjoy the blueberry lemoncake and corn gelato and my wife was delighted with the sorbet. I heard great things and checked out the website seeing they were in guys grocery games. Reviews were amazing. However, the food lived up to he reviews. Elegant , tasty, and refined. You just must try...and it's BYOB. My wife says: "doesn't get better than this!" Just come try it- you will be pleased. The chef cares and even came around to make sure everything was great! Made reservation a week ahead for 35th anniversary and was hoping for something great. Was called two days before reservation to confirm booking through open table. Then was called the day of reservation with someone telling us they had too many reservations for our time slot, but we could be accommodated a bit later if we sat outside, under the tent. My response was I wasn't sure if we'd be happy out there. The caller stated that it would be great. When we got to At The Table, we were greeted by staff and they seemed happy and attentive. The issue we had was we were to be eating on asphalt. Our chairs were set on a crease in the pavement and were unsteady. It was about 85 degrees there. We were seating next to a dead tree which sat in a plastic container and looked like it died last Christmas. We asked to have the dead tree removed and if we could move. Worst dining experience I've had in 27 years on the Main Line. They didn't respond to a message I left with the reservation (my wife is a vegetarian so we needed a substitution on the tasting menu), when we got there they couldn't find our reservation even thought it was made on line. When they did find it, they could only seat us outside when I had requested a standard (inside) reservation. Food was tasteless, service was worse. Can't understand why people like this place. A wonderful restaurant in Wayne that features a tasting menu. Right in the center of Wayne on a little street off the main road (route 30). It is very small and intimate with an open kitchen and friendly and attentive service. While the portions are not huge they are more than adequate and believe me you'll want to save room for dessert. The BYOB aspect is a huge cost savings as the exquisite food does deserve pairings with special wines. The dishes are prepared in new and fresh ways influence by classic French cuisine. read more
