    Watermelon mint martini

We love trying new places on our travels so we made a reservation here for dinner tonight. It wasn't super busy but the vibe was good. The dog themed decor was right up our alley. I even found a Great Dane on the wallpaper in the bathroom! lol The food was delicious. The farm to table selections were totally worth every penny. Our server was super sweet, but I wish she would have stopped by the table after we got our food. Hubby would have loved a steak knife for his ribeye and I would have loved another martini. In all, I still think this is 5 stars :)

Had an occasion to meet here for a lunch date recently and got to dine alfresco for the first time this season. Everything about this place was well done, but the service was a tad slow, but to be honest I always feel that way about dining outside. My pulled pork on brioche bun was the perfect blend of savory bbq and crunch from the slaw.

I want to just say Amazing service from our waitress. I went to white dog for the first time this past Sunday 02/15/25. We have a group of 8 for a birthday brunch. I was super impressed with how friendly the staff was. With valentines holiday the restaurant was definitely slammed. Even with it being like that our waitress took her time and explained everything on the menu to us and was super patient. On top of that the food was spectacular. You can't go wrong with anything.

Really good experience. The decor was interesting, the dog theme is really fun. Stopped here for a quick weekday lunch, was seated right away and service was attentive. Really appreciated the recommendations which were excellent picks. I enjoyed the watermelon martini which was delightful. The goat cheese and ricotta spread with hazelnuts, strawberries and balsalmic drizzle with toast was very tasty. More salty/ savory than anticipated. The beet and goat cheese salad was decent, not the best that I've had. The special for the day was a meatball sandwich, with a lovely creamy tomato sauce, delicious! I would definitely recommend and plan to return.

The ambience, the service, the food was all outstanding. It was our first time here but I will definitely be back. The omelet was great and so was the ABLT with egg. We all loved all the dog pictures around to look at as well. I can't wait to come back for lunch or dinner to try something else on the menu.

We had an underwhelming dinner at White Dog. Based on the bill, I would have expected a better meal. The food was ok, but felt like it was missing something. We started with the tuna tartare and the French onion dip. Both were delicious and were probably the best part of the meal. For entrees we had the lamb London broil, which was unevenly cooked and well overcooked on one end. It was served with a tomato and cucumber salad which ended up being an insubstantial meal for the price. We also had the sea bass special, which was good, but felt incomplete. The waiter also described the dish incorrectly. Overall, the service was slow and subpar. Again, it wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasnt good. Plates weren't cleared, dishes were described incorrectly, and the meal was slow to progress. Even with a 7:15 reservation we weren't seated until almost 7:45. The atmosphere is energetic and has a great vibe overall. They really leaned into the dog theme and the restaurant has a great feel because of it. Each of the rooms have a different theme which makes for a fun experience.

I could spend all day in here if they would let me! The decor alone is enough to keep you entertained. The food was out of this world...every bite was a 10/10. I would go back for the mushroom soup. And I will cry about the fact that I can't make it for myself at home. Deviled eggs were perfect, that touch of caviar hits the spot and the crunch wasn't too overwhelming. You can tell they were made with love. Buttermilk waffles were surprisingly good, I'm not a fan of pumpkin but my server recommended them, and she was on point. Avocado BLT was very well done, not too much to fit in a sandwich. Paired with the best truffle fries I've ever had. And the ricotta doughnuts for dessert was the move for us. Warm, with a delicious sauce on the side that completed its place in my heart. My only complaint is that there is no white dog cafe in Florida, but I don't blame them. Would 1000% come back here if I'm ever in the area again!

Came here when visiting a friend. She's been here before and had great service, which was the biggest issue with tonight was our service and what I remember the most. Our server seemed annoyed when she did check in on us. It started ok with drink orders but then all the drinks came separately (and in terms of drinks, we had to ask multiple times for water refills!) ... one of the girls in our party wanted the spicy margarita with normal tequila instead of spicy. The first time, it came out fine. The server asked if she wanted another then it came spicy. She did fix this (once we got her attention) but they didn't give a heads up that there would be a $5 upcharge for normal tequila instead of spicy. Did not expect this! Seems excessive and also should have been mentioned. The appetizers were great. Big fan of the general tsos cauliflower. Probably best item of the night! Entrees were a different story. 3 of us ordered sides and none of them came out. Our server never came to check on us and I had ordered the short ribs and wanted to eat them with my Brussels sprouts. We had to flag down another server (very nice gentleman!) to ask him to get our waitress. When she came back she was rude asking us what the problem was. She said there was a mix up with the sides but I anticipate she never put the orders in. We had 3 different sides so I doubt there was an issue with one not being available. But regardless, she never apologized for the issue and then we had to eat them with cold entrees. I appreciated her having those comped but again, was just rude about the misunderstanding. My friend has had great experience here before. The place seems like a relaxing, fun atmosphere with all the dog themed touches just wish we had better service!

Service and food here is really good. First visiting the Wayne establishment. The drink menu is awesome too. The vibe is very nice, there are many rooms and outdoor seating. I suggest you make reservations it was crowded when we went. I would definitely come back to try other meals on their menu.

I dined here with my family during the week for lunch the week of Thanksgiving and it did not disappoint. Everything from the decor to the food to the service was phenomenal. I'm a huge dog lover so I immediately fell in love with this spot the second I stepped foot into the front door. Even though it was busy, our server never forgot about us and checked up on us regularly. My family and I shared a dozen oysters and we each had our own entree. We appreciated that all of our main courses arrived exactly at the same time. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious and juicy. I can't wait to return when I visit my parents again.

Lovely, spacious patio dining on a gorgeous evening. Service was fast and friendly, despite being quite busy on a Friday night. Dog, group, and family friendly in an upscale environment. Love that they prioritize local ingredients and beverages! Happy hour deals are the way to go - we were starving and ordered a bunch of plates and were so satisfied. Do NOT miss the mushroom soup, they're known for it and it is unreal, with local Kennet square mushrooms. Oysters were so fresh and good!

The food, the ambiance, the coffee are just amazing! The salads are fresh and the burrata is so so tasty. We had a sumptuous brunch with our friends. We enjoyed the ambience more than anything. I highly recommend this restaurant!

When we had walked in, we saw a sign on the door asking patrons to please make sure the door closes fully behind them. However, there was no sign on the other side for people leaving. After the door kept getting left open, letting cold air in, I finally went up to the register to speak with the young woman there. I told her that people keep leaving the door open as they are leaving and asked if she could please put a sign for people leaving the cafe, which might help. I also asked if she could please keep an eye on the door, and let her know I had already had to get up 3 times to shut the door. To her credit, she did ask if we wanted to move to a different table, but it seemed like a hassle at that point. She did say again that she would be sure to keep an eye on the door. Guess what? She did not keep an eye on the door as more people were leaving. My mother also tried to catch her as she was going by, and she didn't stop. She basically ignored us the rest of the time. The young man serving us was polite but just kind of smiled and said sorry with a passive attitude when my mother mentioned the issue as we were paying (we told him we didn't want the coffee drinks after all, we just wanted to pay and leave at that point). I would think business owners would instruct their employees to try to please their customers and make them feel welcome. In the case of an issue, I would expect the employee to want to make an effort to make things right. This was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't recommend the place for this reason.

Then they can choose to order the dish lacking a key component or they can select something that can be prepared correctly. Sourdough with smoked salmon, tomatoes, cream cheese, red onion, and CAPERS is not the same dish without the salty briny capers. So, big fail. At almost $13 for a single slice of toast without the other items (and not enough smoked salmon to counteract the missing salty aspect) it's sad. On the upside, there were enough red onion chunks to have me breathing onions for several days. The specialty drink I ordered, which is a cold brew with an amaretto foam, was really good. It's a lot of ice and a medium sized drink, so you can gauge the value for the price. It wasn't cheap. I probably wouldn't do it again. But it did taste good. The environment is nice. Old train station, high ceilings, charming atmosphere. Old wood floors, old wood moldings, old ceiling. It does look like the windows have been replaced, but they kept the frames. The space has been upgraded while maintaining the charm. Kudos to the person who did it. Fun to see the trains speeding through the station. It's a great option for people waiting for trains or being picked up. One cold brew and one sourdough toast dish with a reasonable tip was over $21.

Well, it has been several years since I've taken what used to be the R5 into the city, and Wayne was usually one of the stops I departed from. However, the girls working were very sweet and helpful when I told them how long it's been, and they proceeded to let me know I could buy a ticket on the ride into town. Oh as for the actual cafe, they had a lot of good looking treats (especially a chocolate chip muffin) but I did hold back and went with a smaller hot cocoa with oat milk. This was less than $5 (still getting adjusted to reasonable prices outside of my current city), and it was very good! Seating was throughout the narrow space, from tables and chairs to an old-school station bench which I took advantage of while I savored my beverage. There was also a separate restroom for men and women. From the barren station it was, someone really took this space and gave it new life. I imagine it's packed during the early weekday commute, but when I visited, it was almost peaceful with just a handful of people. Looks as though they haven't been open for very long, so I wish them success and look forward to the next time I can come by again while in town (and waiting for what I still call the R5).

Recently, I paid a call at their newest outpost on Philly's Main Line. Located in the Strafford Shopping Center just a few steps from the Amish Farmers' Market, the Wayne store opened its doors in 2021. As a restaurant reviewer and food & wine writer, my chief focus, of course, was upon the charming little Alimentari Bar/Café. Here, smack dab in the middle of all that foodie hustle and bustle, you can experience a moment of respite and order a creative cocktail to accompany your luncheon or as an afternoon pick-me-up. A Negroni or Boulvardier (Bluecoat Gin/Redemption Bourbon, respectively, Campari, Iris Dorado Vermouth) or, perhaps, a Vesper (Bluecoat Gin, Stateside Vodka, Lillet Blanc), also known as the Vesper Martini. Erroneously thought to have been invented by author Ian Fleming for his iconic British secret agent, James Bond, the cocktail first appeared in Fleming's Casino Royale, which was published in 1953, and named for the fictional double agent and Bond love-interest Vesper Lynd. The restaurant also offers a nice selection of wines by the glass/bottle, as well as several interesting brews. The Italian comfort food headlines "Di Bruno Bros. products at every turn," with categories such as Formaggi & Salumi, Soup & Salads, Sandwiches, Pizza Alla Romana, Plates, Alimentari Focaccia, and Dolci. Cheese is obviously big here, so the Monger's Greatest Hits - featuring Fromage d'Affinois, Alex, Pantaleo, black lava cashews, fig & acacia jam, honeycomb, house-made focaccia, seasonal fruit, and crostini - would definitely be a way to go. My dining partner chose a slightly different route with her House of Grilled Cheese sandwich (pictured), which featured Reading Raclette, Taleggio, butter brioche and also a bowl of incredibly delicious San Marzano tomato soup. Another sandwich you might consider - highly recommended by a friend - is the Balsamic Chicken. Sequestered between two slices of toasted ciabatta, the moist marinated breast is aided and abetted by Caciocavallo cheese, roasted red peppers, arugula, basil, slathered with roasted garlic aioli, and accompanied by house-made potato chips. The Soup & Salad category included the aforementioned tomato soup and items such as Summer Panzanella, Di Bruno Bros. Caesar, and an interesting combo of Burrata & Brussels Sprouts set on a pillow of toasted rustic bread flooded with a Medjool date sauce. Interesting... and the sprouts were done to a turn, but the sauce was very, very (almost offputtingly) sweet. The Plates definitely hold some solid possibilities: House-Made Meatballs, for instance, or Roasted Branzino. But the two pasta dishes are particularly noteworthy... The Cacio E Pepe is basically spaghetti simply seasoned with cheese & pepper. In this case, the cheeses are pecorino Romano and parmigiano Reggiano. But the pepper is quite special. Tellicherry peppercorns are considered a highly prized variety of black pepper due to their complex flavors, which include woodsy and citrus notes. And for those who prefer their pasta with a tad more zip, the Spicy Sausage Rigatoni (pictured) - fennel sausage swimming in a savory tomato ragù, sprinkled with parmigiano Reggiano, and topped with rich & creamy Stracciarella cheese - is equally satisfying. Dolci, "sweets," are somewhat limited, but still worth considering... The Seasonal Gelato & Sorbetto are locally sourced from the Fiore Restaurant. For purists, the Affogato may be just the ticket. Traditionally known as Affogato al Caffè, this coffee-based dessert usually takes the form of a scoop of plain milk-flavored or vanilla gelato or ice cream "drowned" with a shot of hot espresso. The third option is the Chocolate Budino, an Italian pudding made from a milk & egg custard thickened with cornstarch. While similar to American puddings and custards, Budino has a richer, eggier texture, somewhat akin to Mexican flan... On the other hand, their pastry department (pictured) is just a few steps away. If nothing quite appeals, you can always make a quick stop and savor your dessert at home. By the way, Di Bruno Bros. also serves Saturday and Sunday brunch from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The hot Croissant with Ham and Swiss Cheese was delicious and the croissant was perfect; not greasy with just the right amount of butter for flavor.
