After a couple 'okay' experiences, I recently went back to Triple Crown with my wife for a Saturday evening dinner and was genuinely impressed by the improvement in service--attention, speed, and energy. From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a smile, another welcomed us in by holding the door, and a third (a waiter) said good evening and welcome! These may seem like insignificant gestures but when going out to eat, no matter the restaurant (chick fil a knows haha), the treatment of patrons is important. Especially with the costs of dining out. Our waiter, Aladdin, was exceptional in every sense--energetic, kind, light hearted, and treated my wife and I with the upmost care. This should be the norm everywhere but sadly it is not. Dead Fearless management, take care of Aladdin--he is a national (Triple Crown) treasure! Food was delicious--highly recommend the Delmonico and potato puree! Can't go wrong with the apps and salads of course. We'll be back! read more

I went here with my family for my wife's birthday. There were five of us in total, and I was very disappointed. I would never consider going back. It was brutally loud as well; couldn't hear anything people were saying at the table. First, the total bill was about $500, and no one even ordered cocktails. That's a lot of money for what you get. I ordered the salmon, and it was microscopic, barely warm, and nothing special. It was literally a tiny piece of fish with almost nothing else on the plate. It looked more like a prison meal than something from an expensive restaurant. I've had salmon at many other restaurants where it arrived hot, was a generous portion, and was actually enjoyable. This was a real disappointment. The service was just okay. The staff clearing the plates seemed to have no idea what they were doing and actually asked us to pass our plates to them. Patrons shouldn't have to help clear the table, especially at a restaurant charging these prices. The servers constantly came by asking how everything was, but I wasn't interested in spending my wife's birthday complaining or sending food back. I shouldn't have to say, "My salmon isn't hot--please take it back." We also asked for a doggy bag, and they left items out of it. We reminded them three separate times, but they didn't seem to be listening. Someone else at the table complained that the Caesar salad tasted off. I could go on, but that's enough. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially given the prices. I would not go back. Last thing. They have bread on the menu for $12. it is nothing more than about five tiny croissant rolls - nothing special. They don't offer free bread. Talk about taking advantage of patrons. read more

I had never been to Triple Crown before, but went for a birthday dinner. It is located in the Radnor Hotel and has some really cool polo decor and has pictures of horses all over the place. To start off, I got the caesar salad and the everything croissant rolls. The caesar salad was pretty solid. I liked how they chopped up the lettuce and it had flakes of cheese crisps in the salad. The dressing tasted a little different than a traditional caesar salad, but I did not mind it. Someone else in our party did not like how it tasted. I was less of a fan of the everything croissant rolls. For $12 it just seemed like a waste. The rolls were really little, much smaller than even the rolls you would get for free at a lot of restaurants. They also just were not that tasty nor were they very hot when they came out. I got the salmon for my entree. It was decent, but not amazing. The most disappointing part was just how small the piece of salmon was. It was pretty tiny and I felt hungry after finishing it. I also do not think it was presented that well. It was just put on a plate with a few small tomatoes and a lemon on the side. Flavor-wise, I thought it was decent and pretty tasty. Not the best piece of salmon, but good. For dessert, I got the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The cake was decent. I did not think it was super moist or something that tasted like an amazing home made cake. With that said, it was still tasty. The service here was alright. I thought our primary waiter was pretty good. He knew a lot about the menu and had good food suggestions. He was a nice guy, as well. A few people in my party were disappointed with the people who handles the plates and our food, though. One of the workers asked us to pass their plates across the table, which was not the most professional. They also threw out our creamed corn, which someone asked to take home - they were nice and at least gave us a fresh one. Overall, this restaurant was pretty average. For the prices they are charging, I think the dining experience could be better. read more

Great service but our food was lacking. Been many times and usually great. We went at a quiet time and we got the triple snack and one of the bites was a huge pickled head of cauliflower which is just a weird thing to share and no one touched and took up most of the plate as seen in picture. Our prime French dip sandwich which i have ordered 3x before and always love unfortunately csme out and was mostly fat with barely any meat and lukewarm. So it was mostly bread with not much actual meat. The Fries were good. Again can't say enough great things about the service but the food was lacking. read more

Waitress was informative & came back during mael few times to check on us plus refill my coffee 3 times ! She ordered chili which waitress recommended...I had eggs over hard but came still runny..side order bacon as nice and crispy. Child ordered pancake which was fluffy & huge ! Really nice, high end steak house feel restaurant in the Radnor Hotel complex. My bride have a really tasty filet and I had the short ribs. The apps and the sides were excellent. Our waiter was excellent! I can't go above four stars for two related reasons. 1. At well over $100/person ... I expect a tablecloth. 2. We luckily came early (5p) .... Thank goodness. By the time we left the room we were in was nearly full and we literally had to yell to communicate with our AWESOME waiter. Makes sense when you consider that the room as a tin ceiling, cool looking but sounding bouncing windowed cabinets, wood floor and wood tables ... there isn't a sound absorbing material in the entire space. read more

We went here for brunch. The food is good. Its a little pricey but the service was nice. Its a cool atmosphere and it decent size servings. They have oat milk if you want non-dairy milk for your coffee or latte. The one thing I am disappointed about is that we asked the waitress if we can skip the buffet and just buy the entree and the waitress said yes, no problem. It wasnt until we got home that I looked at the bill and realized that she charged up for the buffet & entree. So either she made a mistake and we were overcharged or we couldnt just buy an entree but she said we could and just charged us for both. read more

Gorgeous horse-themed elevated dining experience in the Radnor Hotel. Fabulous ambience. Comfortable seating. Excellent service. Amazing since it just opened. Very welcome and long overdue for this area. Had the short rib Wellington, crab cakes, heirloom tomato & onion salad and banana cream pie trifle. Also tried friend's clam chowder, branzino, potato puree and duck fat fries. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! The ambiance here is beautiful and unique with the horse decor (polo bar vibes), however the food and cocktails were very disappointing. Prices felt very high for what we received. We ordered two cocktails, Spectacular Bid at $16 and The Perfect Drift at $17. Both arrived with a large ice cube, the glasses were only filled halfway, and neither tasted very good. Spectacular Bid in particular tasted like it didn't have any alcohol in it. For food, we ordered the tuna tartare, the French dip, French fries, and the wagyu mafaldine pasta. The tuna tartare was below mediocre and was served with plain white toast (not a good combo). The French dip and fries were extremely average. The wagyu mafaldine was the biggest miss, easily one of the worst pasta dishes I have had in a long time. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and overpriced for the quality of food and drinks. The atmosphere is lovely, yet the menu does not live up to it. read more

My girlfriend and I dined here for the first time on Mothers' Day. We appreciated being seated by the pleasant young lady host well before our reservation time. The meal was largely a disappointment. None of the hot foods were hot. The prime rib was not even lukewarm. My girlfriend asked for an omelette with spinach and tomato which was half egg, half egg white. Fifteen minutes later, she was brought two small portions of scrambled eggs: not an omelette, and containing neither of the ingredients she requested. The buffet area was a tiny, crowded area, which necessitated dodging other diners and staff each time one returned for more food. I would have thought that a premium-priced buffet ($75) would offer champagne and a more extensive selection. Oven-browned potatoes that were offered are not a good accompaniment to prime rib. Mashed or baked potatoes would have been appropriate. We could have done so much better in every way at a restaurant like Fogo de Chao. read more

We really enjoyed our visit at Triple Crown! The staff were very kind and knowledgeable on the menu, and great with suggestions when I couldn't decide what to try. We also really enjoyed the decor of the restaurant and its overall aesthetic. Food-wise, the appetizers were hit or miss. The oysters were just okay (not necessarily something you want with raw oysters), and the Caesar was pretty bland. The steak tartar was good though, and the toast it came with was delicious. We really appreciate that they split one order of the salad between two plates so we didn't have to keep trading the plate back and forth. They also did this for our main which we decided to split which was really appreciated! For that, we did the Prime French dip, which was really good. I think the overwhelming favorite was surprisingly the rosemary duck fat fries which came as our side. For dessert we got the chocolate ricotta cake, which was so delicious and decadent. We ended up taking it home because it was so rich that we couldn't finish it in one sitting. The cocktails were also great. I'm typically not a huge fan of the Fearless restaurant group, as I find that the food quality isn't always the best, but I would recommend trying this one out, at least for a nightcap and a dessert! read more

First time eating at Triple Crown and it did not disappoint. We had Saturday night reservations, the place was lively, old world sophistication, brightly lit, and cozy. Our server was friendly & quick to greet us. We ordered the Crab cakes and the Prime French Dip with Au jus and horseradish. The Crab cakes were the best ones I have had. The breading was very light, crabmeat was fresh tasty and not dry. It was delicious. The French Dip was a generous size portion of beef and bread in perfect temperature. It was very satisfying. I have to agree with another reviewer who said it feels closed in with all the wood, which also makes it difficult for staff to assess your needs unless they're right in front of you. Prices are high. $48 pork chop felt skimpy. It was thin and fatty with a large bone, so maybe that's how it's 14 oz. Get the pork chop at Cornerstone, chef. Check out your competition. $10 less and MUCH better quality and flavor. My biggest takeaway, prices are way out of line. When you offer high end selections, you have to serve with flavor. read more

However, I was near the restaurant so decided to walk in for late Sunday brunch. I was greeted warmly by staff. Service was prompt and pleasant. The Bloody Mary was very good and I loved the seafood salad. I think the menu has been adjusted since it opened- for the better. Expensive and just ok, what a bar scene- main line cougars running wild if you're hunting

It started out great. Gorgeous decor -- everything had been cobbled together with taste and class. The maitre'd had such a joyful welcome for us, with his beaming smile and enthusiastic tone. Loved it. We were seated and greeted by the most courteous server, an absolute gentlemen. Everything was going great. Then the food showed up. The gin martini with a twist was spot-on, but then again, you've gotta work pretty hard to screw up a cocktail with only two ingredients, and one of which is sometimes considered optional. The Blue Larkspur cocktail (a dirty martini by any other name) on the hand, was a letdown -- bland with a side of bland. The Seafood Louie Salad was pretty good. A generous serving of chopped lettuce, shellfish, eggs, and Louie's dressing (French dressing by any other name) -- quite enjoyable without being bogged down by the dressing, The branzino -- well, we got half a branzino. While I'm accustomed to getting a branzino whole, I didn't mind too much that this was filleted. What I did mind, however, was that I only got one side of the fish. One-half of a branzino for $42 is positively criminal. Even by NY or SF price standards. We're talking about half a fish and a very modest swoosh of some mild sauce on the plate. I thought it was a joke, but apparently the only ones laughing are probably the proprietors. Really not sure if the decor would be strong enough to bring me back here. I do think a very thorough assessment of their menu pricing is warranted. read more

The bar is absolutely claustrophobic with wood frame everywhere and it's hard sometimes to find a bartender (if you saw the Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets his kitchen renovated...this is like it). Service was very very slow, soup was cold. Smashburger was barely cooked and tasted like a poorly cooked Big Mac. Can't think of anything good that I can say. Had Saturday night dinner reservations a couple of weeks ago. Decor was nice, ambiance was a little loud. We found the service, although warm and friendly, to be a bit slow. My biggest issue was with the food. We chose the cheese plate and half chilled lobster. The cheese plate, which consisted of 3 small pieces of cheese with two of them being very identical, was very uninspiring. I also wish I knew what cheese I was eating, but they never told us, so we were left to guess. And the chilled lobster for $34 was a big miss. Our steaks were nothing to write home about. My NY Strip did not have a crust like I prefer. It was cooked nicely but it just wasn't memorable in any way. The highlight was the stuffed hash browns which was enjoyed the next day as well. All in all, I will not go back unless I'm staying at the hotel and don't feel like walking to Flemings across the parking lot. And only then I would just grab their burger at the bar. read more

Triple Crown is spectacular! The food is out of this world! As good as any restaurant on the Main Line. It is very pricey but well worth it. Some Yelpers complained about the prices, but they obviously are no deterrent to the Main Line crowd. We were there on Saturday night, and every table in every room (there are lots of them) was full by about 7:30 or 8 p.m. Loved the cocktail and wines. Every morsel we tasted -- crab cakes, swordfish, loaded baked potato, hash browns, key lime pie, etc. -- was 5 stars. Why "only" 4 stars then? Two reasons. Very, very long wait for second round of drinks. By the time we got them, we were almost finished with our entrees. Second reason: Noisy din in crowded room is almost unbearable to our old ears. But we can't wait to go back, maybe on a mid-week night. Also loved our server, Denver, a professional actor, and general manager Iva Bruni, who has an explosion of personality. The workers obviously have been very well trained. They all smile, are pleasant and helpful. We very much appreciate them. Even when I asked one of them for directions to the men's room, I got a big smile and pleasant greeting. They make you feel glad you are there. read more
