Workers were very friendly, however I went in to simply replace a flat tire and I was quoted around 1300 dollars to replace all 4 tires? They were purchased and installed very recently, so I knew the tread was fine. I got a second opinion and was told that the tires are indeed completely fine, and saved over a thousand dollars. I always go to VIP because of how efficient and easy it is but I will probably never come back to the Manchester location. I dropped my car off when they closed on Friday, put the key in the drop box and left it there for my 8am appointment since I was going out of town for the night. I got a text message at 7:53am of my live-feed progress. I wasn't going to be back to pick it up until 4pm when they were closing so I wasn't worried about them not getting to my car, but the live feed wasn't saying anything and nobody had called me all day. I called the shop and let them know I was on my way to pick my car up and I was just checking in on it since I hadn't been called and updated. The man on the phone said "It looks like they're still working on it now, it'll be done by the time you get here" so I thought nothing of it. When I go to pick up my car an hour later, nobody has an update and it's in the same spot I parked it in the night before. They tell me that they're sorry that nobody communicated but it actually had not even been looked at yet. This is my car we're talking about, so to be able leave it there for extended periods of time to be worked on isn't the easiest task with a full time job and life. I'm very understanding and flexible if they make mistakes but to lie on the phone saying they're "still" working on it and it'll be done soon when they haven't even unlocked the car is absolutely not okay. I now need to schedule a new appointment (NOT with Manchester) and figure out how to get around without my car for another day. read more

Originally after going here I had a bad experience due to one bad employee. I had left a review that was more focused toward him than the company itself. After leaving said review I was contacted by the regional director who was apologetic and much more helpful. Although I did get my tires done elsewhere after my experience, I can see that there are people who work here who do care about customer service. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE I brought it in for service on a Sat. They put a gouge in my driver side door. Then denied they did it. Doug said he would call me that Monday to discuss. He never called. I called that Thursday got some sort of regional manager named Mike. I explained what happened. He said he would meet me Saturday at 8am. I brought it in At 8. Mike never showed up! Doug was incredibly, incredibly rude. Continued to deny they did the damage, which they did and I have a witness. For the work they did complete, they told me it would take 2 hours. It took 8. Literally 8. I now have to take my vehicle in somewhere else to fix the damage these guys did. Bottom line, I've never had a worse experience with customer service. I am pleased with service I retrieved. Everyone was polite. My car had a tire rotation & brakes were checked. I needed a sensor for a back tire. The cost wasn't too bad. I waited in the lounge area & watched a movie. Within 2 hours it was done. The only thing with staying there was seeing a chuck-filled garbage can nobody cared to notice. Brought my car in for an oil change on a Friday at 1 pm. I was running a couple minutes but they still took me and said it would take about 15 min. It ended up taking just about an hour, and I couldn't be mad cause I was late. I walked over to dollar tree then did some schoolwork in the shade next to the VIP building. I had a $20 off coupon from Irving and the whole thing cost $55. I'm pretty sure the guy up-charged it to the "third tier $75" one... and he only said "full synthetic?" Which could be the cheapest or third expensive option. Regardless, they changed my oil and installed a new filter. Don't plan on it being Lightning fast, but it will get done. read more

They share a building with orielly. Oreilly stated vip does all their assistance work including loaner tools. Needed help with a battery install only to be told they don't do it unless you buy from them, went back to O'Reilly again and they said go to vip. It's a terrible loop, and ended up doing it myself after having to buy more tools. I won't recommend either. read more

I called at 9:45am on Monday booked an appointment for 1pm the same day to get my spark plugs replaced. Went in, dropped my vehicle off, everything's fine. Great. 5:30pm, no call. 6pm, No call. 6:30pm, no call. Mind you they close at 6pm. I call and leave a vm because now I have to call out of work. Not once did they reach out and say my vehicle needs to be kept overnight. Nothing. 10am the next morning they call and say my vehicles ready. Not sense of urgency. No apology. No nothing at all. I mention the fact that they made me miss a night of work and still nothing. Even better. I'm able to pick up my vehicle the next morning (today) and STILL no apology. No remorse for anything. Love that. I've been going to this VIP for years getting oil changes and little work done here and there. Never had an issue. They must feel way too comfortable with me now they think its okay to keep someone's vehicle overnight with no notice, they don't ask, they don't have the decency to let me know what's going on. I'm disappointed and infuriated because I was forced to miss work due to their lack of care and communication. One simple call. That's literally all it would of took. Do better VIP. read more

I recently had my summer tires put on and have them get rid of my winter ones, and was told I could bring my car in and it would take about an hour to do, and I ended up having to wait about 6 hours for it. It was very inconvenient that I had to wait for my car all day with no form of transportation. Fortunately my brother lives nearby and was able to pick me up so I could leave my car. But if you're going to say the service will take an hour, it should take an hour. If you're running behind you should tell the customer when they get there, or at least give a more realistic time frame. read more

These guys have been pretty good to me. I bought new tires last fall and had all the standard stuff done - balancing, alignment, etc. Not long after I noticed the car was still veering to the right when driving on the highway. I waited a little while before bringing it back and asked to have the alignment redone (for free). Michael walked out with me and checked the tire pressures to make sure that wasn't part of the problem. I was able to schedule the alignment for a couple days later and after it was done, got a printout of the specific before/after measurements. Definitely an improvement when driving now. I will say there have been a few communication hiccups with scheduling and service, but the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Not bad. read more

I was replacing my serpentine and water pump belts and after hitting a dead end getting the new serpentine on I contacted VIP. They told me to bring it in, now keep in mind you can't drive it without the water pump belt on unless you want to damage the motor, the belt was put on by me. They called me and said the tensioner pulley need to be replaced and I said change it. Upon picking the vehicle up they charged me 263 dollars for the pulley and upon research the most expensive pulley I could find on rock auto was 86 dollars, that is a big markup. Then I noticed they charged me to R and R the water pump belt which they didn't have to and never did. To sum it up, if you want a fair repair shop stay away from VIP! read more

Chalk mark your tires! I went in for an oil change and a tire rotation. They did the oil change and claimed to have done the rotation. Before I went in, I had put a little chalk line on one of the tires and it was still in the same spot when they gave me back my keys. I had to go back in and call them on it. All in all, the experience wasn't horrible. The guys were friendly - even after I went in again. Just make sure to mark your tires and don't go to them for anything serious. read more

I stopped by VIP Tires & Service in Manchester. I'm in a bit of a bind because I need to purchase tire sensors for my car because my wheels don't have them. Emily, who's the assistant manager, was so helpful in trying to help me find the best solution. She emailed the manager right away to get the best price for the sensors, and how they will be programed during installation. She spent plenty of time explaining the new federal regulations to me. The made it sound like an emergency as they told me I was lucky I didn't have fluid leaking out, etc. I took the car to another service center who told me I did not need brakes. I then took it to another VIP who told me I did not need brakes. The other VIP even walked me through the brakes, when to replace, etc. They told me I had a few YEARS left on my brakes given my driving pattern. Buyer beware at this branch! read more

Used to be a class act, but disappointment lately. A while back, I took my GMC in for lower ball joints. $300 was understandable since they had to tear the front suspension down to reach the ball joints. While apart, they decided that the upper ball joints also had to be replaced Since the vehicle was already taken apart, this should have been a simple step. When I requested a quote, the salesman smirked and stated "$300"_ which is exactly the same that I would have paid if they completely reassembled the truck, drove it out to the parking lot and started over. I changed the uppers myself for $55. I called for an alignment yesterday. They quoted $99. When I asked for a breakdown, they explained that they never align just the front wheels, but all four. I should have hung up right then, but there was a twisted part of me that had to ask how they could align the rear wheels on a solid rear axle vehicle. After much stammering, they explained that they instead adjusted " all three adjustments" rather than just the one. Such bullshit. I have to assume that they were referring to camber, caster, and toe-in. At any rate, they're located close and had time. I hoped that the alignment tech was brighter than the salesman so I took the truck in. The tech put the truck on the rack and promptly called me in. He explained (with a straight face) that the toe-in and camber were within acceptable limits but the caster was off. He then told me that he would charge me three hours labor to change the castor parameter because it was such a pain. Simple truth is that he was having a lazy- assed afternoon and didn't want to do a complete $99 alignment as quoted. I'm currently at Sears Auto Center having it done $20 cheaper. I won't return. I suggest that you ring a reputable mechanic and stick with them. I also suggest that you not look to Manchester VIP for that service. read more

I would not recommend this vip place. The man in the service department was rude and a jerk! He wanted to charge me double what another place would do. He was pissed off because i wouldnt have my car fixed there. I took it to another place and charged me half of what he was going to charge me. And did the repair in half the time. Extremely dissatisfied with tire sale, Emily and Carrie sold and had installed 3 -50's and one 60 size on my truck found out from by my REAL mechanic and brought back again after a 50 min service and then 35 min service replacement and neither didn't even apologize!! I went in for a simple state inspection at 5pm. The Service Center closed at 6pm. On the walk in from the parking lot, I noticed that there was not a single car in the service garage. At the counter I took out my keys and registration and asked for a state inspection. The guy said "it's too late for one of those tonight. An inspection takes MUCH longer than an hour." In all of my years of getting inspections, it has never taken more than 45 minutes, even if there is a wait. I pushed back politely, and the guy again refused my business, telling me to come back "next week." I had sworn off VIP (Portsmouth location) years ago when they lied about rotating my tires (I was watching them through the waiting room window!), and when, on two occasions, my tires were flat the next morning after service. This time, however, I had a scheduling crunch, which was the only reason I decided to go back to them. Won't make that mistake again. read more
