As a first time home buyer, I wasn't sure if we actually needed a home inspection but our realtor suggested that we have one incase there were any deficiencies with the home. We called ATEX on a Saturday afternoon expecting an answering machine and we're pleased to find that not only did we get to speak to a live person, but Robert, the owner actually answered our call. He set us up for an inspection and asked if we had any questions before the appointment. When we got to the inspection, Robert was extremely thorough and explained to us what exactly he was looking for and why those things were important. He didn't mind that we walked through the whole inspection with him and asked questions along the way. He was very knowledgeable and meticulous in his inspection, not to mention he kept us laughing the whole way through. Robert and the ATEX team made what could have been a frightening experience for a first time home buyer a breeze. We were able to negotiate with the seller based on the findings during our inspection and even learned a little about our home and things to look for in the process. I found Atex Inspects as I searched on line for an inspection for our newly built home. Robert emailed me later that evening. I was very thankful that he was able to schedule me in such a short notice. We agreed on a date and time and as he sent the confirmed email, he even gave us a discount, that was awesome. Although I had read his entire web page, he explained to me what would be done during his inspection. After the inspection he called with findings. Sometimes having a newly built home doesn't necessarily mean everything is perfectly built. I received my report from him that same evening. My report was sent to my realtor, she then sent it to the builder and all findings on the report were corrected and explained. I would like to add aside from being thorough with his work, Robert is a very courteous individual and he is everything about what it says on his website and more. I would like to start out by saying thank you to Robert for his excellent service. ATEX is a very reputable and reliable company when is comes to residential inspections. I had them perform a preliminary inspection on our slab form prior to the concrete being poured. Let me also mention this was subsequent to the builder's inspectors approval of the forms being ready to pour. Needless to say, Robert discovered numerous flaws in the pre-slab phase. Such as breaks in the vapor barrier and also plumbing lines coming in contact with non-stretched post tension cables. If he would not have came across these faults before the slab was poured we would have never known about them. Which in turn could have led to costly foundation repairs in the future. We were only going to get the initial phase inspected, but due to these findings we have scheduled for the pre-sheetrock and full inspection to be performed when the stage is completed. Overall I would give them a 5 out of 5 rating. Also I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is in need of a Residential or Commercial inspection. Thanks again!! read more

I was stuck in a predicament, my husband is out of the country with the military and we are in the process of buying a new house. I contacted Robert about doing a inspection on my new construction home before they started the next phase. He was already in the area and was able to get to my home after his current site he was inspecting. He was very thorough with all structural integrity, plumbing and electrical as well as all other areas of the home. He asked if I had any question or concerns and addressed them right away. He marked all problem areas for the home builder to see clearly then provided me with a copy of the report and sent one to the builder very promptly. Robert is a very comical and nice guy! I really just want to say thank you and I am highly thankful that we went with his services. I had a contract on a short sale and had very little time to get anything done. I searched the internet for a inspector and after awhile decided to go with ATEX because of him being a veteran, but also because their prices included thermal scanning which is unparalleled with other companies. Some that I saw charged around $75 in addition to the inspection fee for this service. Besides that, they performed the inspection promptly but thoroughly. I had my 11-month warranty inspection with Mr. Halston. I was pleased with the service I received. He was professional, personable and timely. He actually arrived early. He was able to address my concerns and pointed out issues that I wasn't unaware of.
