*** Never get a Groupon for this service and go somewhere else and do it the correct way**** My daughter purchased a Groupon for microblading as a gift. Before my appointment, I sent photos of my brows and asked if I could upgrade to nano brows. I was told I could pay the difference, so I paid an additional $70 specifically for nano. At the appointment, I was then told I needed to pay another $100 for "density" because my brows were sparse. This was not disclosed in the Groupon listing, nor was it explained ahead of time despite her seeing photos in advance. The procedure lasted approximately 15 minutes and was extremely painful. When I mentioned the pain, I was told it was normal for sparse brows. Afterward, I was told that although the Groupon states a touch-up is included, I would need to pay $165 for a two week follow up. That was presented as a "discounted" rate. Later, when I asked for clarification, she confirmed she switched to a handheld blade. Nano brows are performed using a machine. A handheld blade is microblading. In other words, nano technique was not performed despite me paying the $70 upgrade for nano. I requested a refund of the nano upgrade fee since that service was not provided. She refused. To be clear: I do like the overall shape of my brows. They are even. However, some of the strokes are noticeable and uniform rather than softly layered almost like my regular brow was just outlined. What concerns me most is the pattern: * Low promotional pricing * Additional required charges introduced at the appointment * Technique change not disclosed before beginning * Included touch-up excluded * No refund when the upgraded technique was not used If you are considering booking (which you shouldn't) I strongly recommend getting everything in writing beforehand, asking exactly what technique will be used, confirming whether density is included, and clarifying when touch-ups are scheduled. I left feeling uncomfortable with how the pricing and technique were handled. Complete scam! Booked a HIFU treatment through Groupon and the entire appointment she tried to upsell me and wouldn't respect my hesitation or no answer. She also has you complete a google review in front of her pressuring you to give a good rating before booking the next appointment. She said I needed 4 more treatments to get my results. Once a month. But a HIFU won't show results until 3 months later if done right. Then she cancelled on me several times and I asked for a refund. She said she doesn't give refunds which was never disclosed when I paid. Now I'm down $300 in this economy. She is a scam artist who will guilt trip you to pay more or buy her membership. First she tried to get me to ask Groupon for refund and pay her there she said Groupon takes half and that way she could get the entire amount. Then she kept trying to get me to pay extra. My eyebrows are microbladed unevenly so one side is MUCH higher than the other. The lip blushing is out past my lip on one side so I'm lopsided. And it's so badly done I can't leave house without lipstick! All around horrible uncomfortable experience! I've had microblading before and it was a wonderful experience.. My Disappointing Experience with 7D Microblading at Athena's Salon I purchased a Groupon for $115 on March 11, 2025, for a 7D Microblading service at Athena's Salon. I scheduled my appointment for April 12, 2025, and was looking forward to the treatment. However, the experience turned out to be very disappointing and unprofessional. When I arrived, Athena informed me that the Groupon service "would not work" for me. I was confused--if that were the case, why did she accept my reservation in the first place? She told me I needed to cancel my Groupon and instead pay $260 directly to her, promising that I would be refunded for the Groupon purchase. Feeling pressured and already at the salon, I agreed and paid the $260. While I was signing the receipt, she insisted on a 30% tip up front. I told her I'd rather wait to see the quality of her work before deciding on a tip. Unfortunately, the environment was far from professional. Loud music was playing from the TV during the session, and she was multitasking--doing her own eyebrows while working on mine. At one point, her daughter walked in, and they had a full conversation while I was lying on the chair with no communication or guidance. I was left waiting without knowing what was happening next. The results were heartbreaking. My eyebrows were uneven, unshaped, and lacked symmetry. I was on the verge of tears. Even her daughter admitted they didn't look right and attempted to fix them--while I was standing, which is definitely not the standard for this kind of procedure. I'm sharing this experience to inform others. Based on what I went through, I can't recommend this salon. Professionalism, proper communication, and quality results should be the minimum standard, and unfortunately, none of these were met during my visit. read more

The scabs have mostly fallen off now. a) my upper eyeliner is much thinner and smaller on my right eye than my left. Also, the left eye has two accidental blob marks on the corner of my eye UNDER where the upper eyeliner should be. Now I am stuck with those two marks. So I am left with uneven eyeliner and two extra blobs of black next to my eye. b) my eyebrows are also very thin and uneven. They look good being dropped down but the ends are very thing, resulting in a tiny straight line. I do understand that this can be improved with the touchup appointment so I am not worried about the eyebrows at this time. c) my lip blushing. While you were tattooing the lip blushing I could tell that there were not even movements and coverage when you were applying the ink. There was ink everywhere, to the point where you stated I looked like the joker. I got home and my lips were very blotchy with the ink and there was no liner to line the lip edges. When I asked why at the appointment you stated you dont go to the edges. I did some research online and watched live videos of the process to lip blushing. They first mapped the lips out. They then clearly defined the lips by lining the lips with ink first, then they moved on to filling in between the liner with intentional small movements from one side of the mouth to the other side until the space was evenly inked. None of this was done for me, I just have random lines of ink in places and not in others and random blobs of ink in some places and not in other places. I also dont have any liner except on the very tip of my upper lip, which are not even either. At this point I do wish you well but would like to go ahead and cancel my retouch appointment that is set up for September 20th. I also would like to request that you refund all the extra money you charged me outside of the agreed upon Groupon price of $300 (plus a 20% tip of the $300 rate, which is $60) so I am asking for you to keep $360 and return the remainder of the payment to me. She was very aggressive and she did not even hear me out, not knowing that I was a customer that could have spent more money on multiple other treatments she offered. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I saw this "Athena" business in Groupon, and after some back-and-forth messages with her, I told her I would pay the total amount for Microblading instead of buying through Groupon. The day of my appointment came, and I was parking when she sent me a text message from a different number saying she was running late "with needles" and needed to cancel. I went inside ANYWAY (she has a room inside City Salons in Frisco, on Legacy Street), and I knocked on the door. She saw me and was surprised by my look and "how pretty" I was. She then kicked out the lady she was working with, and she did my Microblading in around 15 minutes. (I've done Microblading, Micro Shading, and touch-ups many times, so I know how long it takes to do a good job). She applied the numbing cream and removed it within 2 minutes. Then I felt she was doing strokes like crisscross, TERRIBLE. A lot of long horizontal strokes, like crazy, and that was it. Athena is a hilarious and robust character, so I didn't want to complain or say anything since I felt she could be rude or do something we both could regret. I have the impression that this beautiful African-American lady does some jobs in her day, and when she feels tired or has enough money, she cancels the rest of the appointments because this is a common complaint in the reviews. Last but not least, after paying 400 dollars for Microblading, she handed me her iPad and asked me how much tip I wanted to add. Was not impressed with the treatment. I purchased from groupon the Microblading but she barely did very few strokes (say about 8-10) and said it was done. I was surprised to find out and there was no black ink she used. Upon my requesting here 2-3times she put the black ink.
