The camp and all the action is in Groveland (in the Sierra Nevada Mountains just outside Yosemite.) We have visited with our kids 5 times over the past decade. Each time is wonderful and different, depending on the weather, amount of water in the river, time of the summer, and what's going on in the world. Family Camp is a super place to unwind away from the ceaseless roar of technology. (My cell phone doesn't even work there!) Because they prepare your meals for you, you are completely on your own about how best to unwind. Hot? Maybe sit in a tube and float in the river. Hungry? Stop by the camp store for some ice cream. Bored? Good! Maybe you'd like a hike, fish a little, or lay on your back and watch the sky. This is a place unlike any other you'll take the kids to. You can let them be free. They get to decide what to do. Maybe they'll catch a fish. (The camp will cook it for them.) Maybe they'll go adventuring or go to the campfires. Got little ones? They'll love the activities. Even now, with our children in their teens, we go - although now we rent extra cabins and have them bring friends, since friends are where all the action is when you're a teenager. They play cards, fish, and laugh. It really is that simple, and it's really just that good. Family Camp is a gem.

They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive we could find, but the descriptions of the camps sounded like we'd get a good value for our dollar. Our kids were excited about the different themes of each camp week that we ended up signing them for two weeks each instead of one because they liked different themes. We booked the "It's Elemental" and "Animal Adaptations" camps for our twin boys and "Castles and Catapults" and "Explore Hawaii" camps for our daughter in February. They were thrilled about the summer camps, and we glad to see how much they were looking for to them. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic took over everyone's lives. Like many parents in the Bay Area, my wife and I had to juggle not only watching but teaching our children as well as juggle work. My wife and I are both healthcare workers albeit working in different hospitals and different fields (radiology versus nursing). We hoped that things would go back to normal, but that was quickly dashed away when the school was closed down for the remainder of the school year and the lockdown was extended. We knew that they'd need the summer camps more than ever. Unfortunately, Camp Captivate had to cancel their physical camps. The owner of Camp Captivate, Ildiko Stennis, helped me with the refund. We received gift cards that we could use for future camps because we hadn't notified them that we wanted to be reimbursed. I spoke with Mrs. Stennis about our situation, and she was very understanding. She removed the funds from the gift cards and did a full refund to my credit card. She was empathetic and friendly, and I really appreciated her help. I know for sure that my wife and I will be signing up our children for Camp Captivate when things go back to normal.

Personally I am a gym rat and I have been to absolutely every commercial gym in all of San Jose and this place ranks as one of the top contenders. The staff is amazing, I know everyone on a first name basis and they really do make you feel like family. The amount of value you get from this location is ridiculous. Just to begin they have equipment you would never see at a 24 or City Sport! Everything is super clean, they have deadlift platforms and the tool to load and unload weights. Towels and sprays are always stocked to while everything down and the workers are dilligent. They offer supplemental classes, have pickleball available, swimming pool, showers, indoor turf, outdoor work out area which is PERFECT for sunset or sun rise work outs. All in all I love this place, they have a good system going, everything is immaculately clean and their workers are able to address anything you may need. They even have free personal training which is expensive at 24 or city sport.

Make up your mind YMCA either get rid of the waiting list or tell the instructors they aren't following attendance rules. So rude.

The owners are wonderful people with strong values, and you can tell they genuinely care about every kid who walks through their doors. It's not just about learning ninja skills. They intentionally invest in the kids' character too. At the end of each class they do a short character lesson on things like humility, obedience, and other life lessons. As a parent, I really appreciate that they're helping build both confidence and character. Within just a couple of weeks, I noticed a huge difference in my son. He used to be nervous about things like the monkey bars, and now he's climbing, hanging, and excited to try new obstacles. It's been really fun to watch that confidence carry over into everyday life outside of class. My daughter also did a trial of the Sidekicks class for 2-3 year olds, and she absolutely loved it. It was the perfect mix of movement, exploration, and play for her age. Both of my kids have tried gymnastics, and while they enjoyed it, this has been a completely different experience. The classes change every week, so they're never doing the exact same thing twice. The obstacle layouts are always different, which keeps the kids engaged and excited to come back. Between the monkey bars, running walls, balance obstacles, rope swings, and everything in between, there's always a new challenge. Another thing I really like is that the kids are evaluated on their skills and can continue progressing through different levels. It gives them something to work toward while still making it all about having fun. Last thing, they have huge windows for the parents viewing area and they have a play section for the siblings. Our 3 year old daughter has fun with magnifies and blocks while her older brother is in class. If you're looking for an activity that builds confidence, challenges your kids, and keeps them moving, I'd absolutely recommend USA Ninja Challenge. We've loved being part of it.

Coach Arnoldo and Coach Dina have built this place with so much care, from the excellent student-to-teacher ratio to the way they motivate and encourage every child. We've been attending classes for several months now and couldn't be happier. It's an outstanding course for kids and a wonderful way to channel high energy into discipline, perseverance, and self-belief. The program develops agility, balance, coordination, and overall fitness, but what truly stands out is the focus on mental resilience. Kids are encouraged to try, fail, reset, and try again in a positive, supportive environment. If you're considering it, take a trial class -- you won't regret it. Highly recommend for families looking for something active, confidence-building, and genuinely fun.

She has been taking gymnastics and dance classes for the last several months, and loves them! I've had the opportunity to watch her, during both the dance and gymnastics classes, and I'm glad I did! Our daughter loves Coach Natalie and Coach Courtney for gymnastics! Often times when she is at home, she will instruct me to do certain gymnastics moves, and pretend that she is either Coach Courtney or Coach Brittney lol. The instructors are incredibly patient with the kiddos, and it's really fun to see all of the activities that they have in store for the kids. The kids definitely have time to try out the moves on their own, and the instructors are able to correct their movements. I love that they push the kids just enough to challenge them, but not to go overboard. When I did watch her dance class, I know the instructor did not really want parents to be there, which is understandable, since parents can be very distracting to the kids. That said, my daughter did not really pay attention to me lol. There were lots of props that they got to use, which made it interesting and fun, and I'm sure the time passed by really quickly because of it. The dance class did not seem too strict/rigid, but they did introduce lots of different movements. I know that my three year old loved changing into her tap shoes and ballet shoes, even though I'm sure they're not totally needed lol. Compared to other places in the area, CSC has reasonable prices. I don't love the fact that they do not offer make up classes, but I suppose that because it's a little less expensive than other places. Other places have a glass partition so that parents can watch, but this place doesn't. It's not as up to date as other places, but what's most important to me is the teaching quality. I will say, though, for the number of times that my daughter does get sick, the classes end up being a little bit more expensive than I would like. I also love that they have the opportunity for the kids to participate in the dance recital. It gives them a chance to express confidence and the skills that they've learned so far.

It's usually during the first and last 15 minutes of the class. Their playground is a legit and sturdy old-school one that you would never find nowadays. It's just amazing. This review is long overdue. I had been looking for a school/program for my daughter. We suspected that she might be on the spectrum so we wanted to find a place that provided the social environment and interaction with other children as well as accept her as the special girl she was. During the year, it was a rollercoaster of a ride. She had her own difficulties adjusting, and there were numerous moments when I wanted to take her out of the program thinking she just wasn't ready. The main reason I stayed was because of the support we received from the school director, Erica. I've had bad experiences before with other school who would single out my children as different, but even with her eventual diagnosis, Erica made us as a family feel welcome and understood. She provided the support and compassion we desperately needed while trying to navigate our new life transition. Being a part of our child's learning was also a big plus. Before my gf suggested I look into a co-op preschool, I had never even heard of such a thing. They're only this small for a short while and being able to be present for that is priceless to me.
