The beginning was a little challenging because it is such a large, high-energy group--and he is already a high-energy kid who can get overstimulated--but the team was incredibly patient and supportive. Maddie, the manager, truly took the time to work with him, and when he returned, he had a really great day and we received such positive feedback. He genuinely loves GrowFit. I am impressed by how organized everything is, the variety of activities, and the huge, fun bouncy house. The kids seem to have a wonderful time, and my son made friends very easily. I also really appreciate Russ, the owner, taking the time to send photos at the end of camp--it is such a lovely extra touch. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and for taking care of our son. I was nervous having never even visited the place and only going off of another parents recommendation but the staff gave me direct communication as I continuously checked in (shout out to LuLu) and she provided me the comfort of knowing he's having fun and he told me he wasn't ready to come home until the last min of his day. He is excited to go again. He talked about the fun he had that days for several days after. I would def recommend trying it out even if it's just for one time. My son and several friends all interviewed to work for Legarza this summer. They were all forced to…read moreattend a full day interview session with no pay. That was fine-it's his first summer job and I thought it would be good experience for him. The good: he and all of his friends were "hired". Talk about exciting. The Bad: Communication from Legarza made tons of promises for next steps, which included emails, background checks, and other requirements. None of this ever came. As a lesson to my son for how to handle this as he grows up, I had him send an email politely asking where all of the emails were. They didn't answer, ever. After a few weeks of waiting, I called them and asked what the issue was, since they offered my son and several other friends a job and then never followed through. I was told they would run it all the way to the top and find out what was going on. Shocker-I've never received a call, he and his friends mostly have never heard from Legarza, though one friend had a week's worth of work at one camp. This place is garbage, and they don't follow through with promises to teenagers or their guardians when they just need to get straight information from them.
