Hello, I am very unhappy with the food. I wanted to get something that my husband hasn't had in awhile for dinner since it was Father's Day. I have attached my receipt. I have a family of five so eating out is expensive and when choosing what we eat out, which is not very often because it is so expensive we try to pick something that will be quality for the money. I am very disappointed and wish we would have gotten our meal that would have been worth $100. Besides the $90 that I paid for the meals while we were waiting my son saw the Dubai chocolate And baklava so after our food was done my son talked me into getting him 2 of the baklavas and 2 of the Dubai chocolates for us to all split. He is 7 and has seen the Dubai chocolate everywhere and has asked and asked and I haven't gotten any because it's expensive too but told him I would treat him if he would eat all him food. But none of us could eat our food. Both of our shawarma plates the meat was burnt and so grisly and fatty, they could be chewed through. The chicken kabobs were so dry and over seasoned and the Kefta plates were dry and super salty. All of the pita breads were burnt, like black not a little bit all over. And the rice was even bad. Half of it was all stuck together and it had no flavor at all. I mean for $100 we did not get to eat anything except the baklavas and chocolate. I am so disappointed and would really like a full refund. It is the worse because we were really looking forward to the dinner also the whole way home. I hope that I hear something back. I emailed the restaurant first on Father's Day and we have not heard back anything that was days ago. read more

Hubby and I were heading north on Hwy 17, and because of the great Yelp! rating, reviews and prices, made our first-time stop at Athena Pita for lunch. Well, "Yelpers" spoke the truth - this place is a gem. Better than other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants we have tried in the area. First time is always trying the basics so I had the #1 value meal of a gyro, fries and drink. Hubby had just the gyro and shared my fries. The generous serving of gyro meat was flavorful, tender and moist and enhanced with crispy meat bits. The pita was hot and tender and had that fresh bread quality. Fresh tomatoes and onions dressed with a deliciously light tzatziki sauce completed the gyro. This is a good solid gyro. Fries were of an equally generous serving, freshly cooked and hot with crispy exteriors and fluffy interiors. Service was fast and the place is clean with an 'A' rating on their health inspection. This place is in a strip mall. It's nice inside, but nothing fancy. The prices are good. Appropriate for the quality and quantity It's a "Goldie Locks" so...Go! Enjoy! read more

Instead, I got the salad dressing that would've come with the salad. It was pink and it tasted like thousand island. They could've at least included the tzatziki sauce on the side, with the sandwich, like they say they do. No such luck. The steak was dry as hell. I asked for it to be cooked medium. Pretty good food and friendly service. The place looks a little dark inside, but I kind of like that, and it's clean. They've got nice photos of Greece on the walls, too. I gotta admit I came to try this place out because my previous go-to, Good Fellas Grill, was pushed out of their building by the landlord jacking up the rent. Personally, I think the falafel and the meat are all just a bit too dry at Athena Pita. That's really the only reason I'm giving the place 4 stars instead of 5. The salad is nice though, and the sauces are good too. However, there is one item that shines above the rest: the fries. My god, the fries! They're amazing!!
