This place is just solid. They offer big portions of pretty good food at cheap prices. Plus they're always sending out coupons to make it even cheaper. Their hummus is especially good and their baklava stands out, too. When we go the kids eat their weight in hummus and pita bread. They're great for takeout and they'll make up pans of food so you can cater your events. read more

Their dishes are pretty good, but after a while it gets monotonous. Maybe if they did more mixed combos that might get things going. Other than that their dishes are better than average, healthy, and tastes authentic. read more

I L O V E this place. The first time I ever tried Athens, I was hesitant. Being located in an old strip mall and the decor is a tad outdated. But it's super cheap and VERY good. I always buy an extra container of hummus to keep at home. It's so much better than any of the store bought brands. I usually always end up getting the gyro or chicken gyro combo, but have gotten the Mediterranean Combination Platter before. My only warning if you ever get it, is make sure you're hungry! It's a lot of food and a very good way to try (and enjoy) a little of everything. I recommend this place to people all the time and am so glad I live so very close to the best gyros around. read more

They have the best hummus around! I go there just for the hummus. Okay, I do get other items and love their gyros and salads as well. Nothing fancy at all about this place except for the food. The only bad thing I experienced there was on the last trip the woman working the counter was right outside of the door sucking down a cigarette and making the entry to the restaurant very smelly as I had to hold my breath. She then came in and didn't even wash her hands after smoking. Yuk! read more

Best Gyros ever! I haven't been able to find one that comes close, and I have lived in 4 states and 7 different locations since I have been here last. I crave Athens Gyros! Their hummus is really good too!!! And the fresh made peta bread, most of the time it's still warm! Yum! My staple order (when I lived there) was the chicken salad, which is also great! The chicken is seasoned well, and the salad is healthy and tasty, I could make two to three meals out of it. Yes, the salad does take a few extra minutes to cut into eatable sizes, but for these prices, who cares? The owner is super nice, back when I lived there he knew my order by heart. I used to bring friends there every chance I could to support local business. Every time I'm in MN visiting family I make a point of going to Athens, even if it's an hour away. (Although now I get the gyro because I get to go so infrequently, living in OR, and no one has even come close to an Athens gyro!). read more

Good food. I really wish they would switch to more environmentally friendly packaging and explore a composting service instead of using Styrofoam for EVERYTHING. I would gladly pay en extra 50 cents to a dollar more a plate to know that the the legacy of my very tasty Greek dinner wouldn't last 1+ million years. read more

Their food is delicious, large portions and very reasonably priced. The Greek salad with the Greek chicken is soooo good! Tasty chicken and awesome dressing. Others said the hummus was wonderful so I had to try it. It is really yummy; tastes like there might be a few olives pureed into it. Gyros and falafal are also very tasty and are huge sandwiches. Wife and I are regulars. Have had the gryos 2 for $10, and well worth it. Plenty of food for the price, and it is fresh and good tasting. I have become a fan of the 2 patty hamburger. After almost 3 of living in the area I finally tried this place. I don't know what took me so long even after hearing friends and coworkers rave about the place. My loss! I had previously touted Emily's Lebanese's tabbouleh as the best I'd ever had. Not true! Athens' tabbouleh is so wonderful and if blindfolded I would never be able to tell them apart. Their gyro meat is delicious! Salads are fresh and delicious! And my biggest surprise? Their curry chicken! SOOO TASTY!! I would have never chosen it off the menu, but my husband accidentally ordered a giant sized gyro combo which included that curry chicken (I think it's the chicken for the chicken gyro). It's definitely my second favorite item on their menu aside from the tabbouleh. Their hummus is delicious as well. You know... I've never had anything there that I didn't like. This place is totally worth a try. You will not be disappointed. read more
