My boyfriend and I are a fan of Dino's and decided to give this place a try! Unfortunately, this place fell flat for us.... The vibes are a standard quick take out or sit down spot. There was some seating with booths and tables. You will walk up to the counter to order. The service here was... interesting. I'm not sure if the person taking our order was new? It seemed to be a struggle to get out very basic order in. The food: The same employee who took our order, walked our salad to the table but didn't have napkins or forks. I went to go grab some myself, but they are located behind the counter, so I had to ask for them. The salad was very basic and nothing to rave about. The meat for both gyros was dry.... The gyros is authentic and fresh. The prices are a bit high, but you get a loaded gyros sandwich. It has lots of gyros, lettuce, and tzaiki sauce, but a bit light on the onion and tomato. The side patio wedges are cooked well, but lack salt/seasoning. Their fries are great, fluffy on the inside with a crispy exterior. The bread was also soft and fresh. The staff were pleasant. I've been on the hunt for some tasty sour avgolemono soup (lemon, chicken, rice soup) and saw it on the menu so had to come try it out!! It was pretty good but wasn't as flavorful or sour as I would have liked. We also ordered some dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and extra tzatziki + pita bread. For my entree I ordered the great Greek gyro with French fries and my husband got the Greek salad. The service was great! Super easy to order, staff were quick, very friendly, and super accommodating! We were here for a late dinner so there were only a few other patrons around so nothing wild, crazy, or loud. Perfect little evening spot! My gyro was STUFFED! But didn't have a ton of flavor, the gyro meat was quite bland. This was the first time eating in here. Typically, it's take out to eat at home. We both got the Great Greek Gyro and fountain sodas. If there's one thing that they do "wrong"here is overstuffing the gyro. It's a great problem to have because everything about their shawarma is perfect. The flavors of all the ingredients create a symphony of deliciousness in the mouth. Shifting around the meat to make it easier to eat isn't a big deal for me. I might get extra pita in the future to create two sandwiches - bonus! The food came out quickly and was nice and warm. Their fries are some of the best in the business, to me. They're always a perfect crispy outside with a soft, pillowy interior. They don't need ketchup, salt, or ANYTHING! Even though neither of us likes Maple Grove, Great Greek is worth the visit. read more

This spot is nestled in downtown Maple Grove right on Main Street. It felt a bit pricey, but the portions were larger than anticipated. We were only able to eat about 1/3 of the hummus and barely finished the entrees. Hummus: this felt freshly made. It was thick and creamy with a bit of acidity. The pita was warm and soft. Small Salad with Falafel: the vinaigrette was bright and complimented the feta. The falafel was crispy and flavorful; it paired beautifully with the tzatziki. The lettuce was fresh but could be cut much smaller-I felt like I was fighting with my salad. Rice Bowl with Gyro Meat: we were confused at first when we received it because of the amount of lettuce on top (it looked like a salad), but rest assured there was a bed of rice pilaf beneath! The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. Overall, it was the fresh meal we were looking for. We plan to try a gyro on our next visit. This is just what this area needed. read more

My husband loved the gyro, and I have to say it was the best rice pudding I have ever had. Service was excellent.

The food was good. Gyro was huge, tatziki sauce was on point. The downside is pricing . Gyro doesn't come with fries and it's 5.99 extra for fries so gyro plus fries will run you 18 dollars. For that much you can go to sit down restaurant with full service. This restaurant you order upfront and they bring you your food. Staff was nice , place was clean. The meal gets 5 stars, but I would like to offer a suggestion. We'll get to that later in the review. I went with this restaurant after searching Yelp and DoorDash for food near my hotel. Mediterranean sounded good, the pictures looked good and the reviews were positive. Not long after ordering I received the notification that my order had been picked up and was on the way. I was pleased with the timing of order release. I had a hot meal in my hand within 30 minutes of ordering. I got back to my room and opened the container to a great looking meal. It was fresh and hot and smelled delish! The taste was wonderful. The beef & lamb was perfectly cooked. The pita was hot & fresh. The feta fries were the stars of the meal. My only complaint was that my order did not include any eating utensils or napkins. Being that I was in a hotel, this was very inconvenient. The gyro was large and would've been easier to handle if cut in half. The feta fries would also have been more manageable with a fork. A minor inconvenience, but these are items that should automatically be included with every order. read more

This place offers a pretty solid sandwich. I'm a big gyro fan - so I had to try the Great Greek on a trip through Maple Grove. There are a ton of food options in Maple Grove, but this places reviews stood out. Let me say this to start - I didn't realize it was a chain! You can definitely notice right away that it isn't a family/"authentic" restaurant. There is one gyro and it doesn't have much in the way of options to personalize - aka I asked if I could spice it up and the response was "we can put jalapeños on it". Overall, it was pretty decent if rather generic. It is going to meet your needs if you are craving greek/Mediterranean food, but it won't wow you. There are a handful of places in the metro area (and one even semi-close by in Osseo's Olympia Cafe and Gyros) that I would recommend much more than a stop here. read more

This is another chain showing its presence in Maple Grove. The location is nice where it is right on Main St Maple Grove so it has easy access. The restaurant is orderly and clean, and the staff is friendly enough. Food-wise, it's a basic Greek restaurant offering where there's nothing really unique per se. All the standard staples are present - Hummus, Gyros, Souvlaki, Dolmades, etc. I basically get the same thing when I am nearby and have a craving for a quick gyro. The only issue that I didn't notice the first time I ordered here is they put feta on the gyro. Gyros shouldn't be served with feta as a standard item. I got the mezze platter which is supposed to come with dolmas, hummus, spanikopita, falafal etc and i ordered it to go. after ordering the cook notified who i assumed was manager on duty that were were no dolmas. they were kind enough to add extra falafel to my plate, but then when i left with my to-go order, i realized there was no silverware and then later noticed there was no hummus. i overheard another table order something and the cook said there was none left of an ingredient, so it looks like the order writer just didn't order enough food for the weekend. yummy food but disappointing! read more

The Great Greek was awesome! Stopped by here this past weekend on the way to a friend's cabin and it was so good! I ordered the Great Greek Gyro Combo which came out to about $14 and includes a huge Gyro, fries, and a soda. The fries were so good, super crispy, and just hit all the right spots. The gyro was incredibly good - might be my fav in the cities so far - and a large part of this is due to how stuffed it is. There was an awesome amount of meat, the perfect amount of sauce and the pita was delicious. In a lot of the other places I've tried around town, I was left hungry after eating my gyro. Here, I came in starving, and couldn't even finish my combo! The place is in a super cute little shopping village in Maple Grove. A lot of it is under construction right now, but it's already a super cool area. Additionally, the staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help! Cannot recommend enough. read more

The Great Greek Gyro is so good I got it with Beef+lamb meat and I love how delicious and filling it is! I tried the feta fries for the first time every time I come here I get the regular French fries with my gyro but decided to try the feta fries and WOW I love them so much! So delicious and perfect amount of cheesiness and you get a little zest from the lemon and a cheese pull from the cheese and tastes so amazing my favorite item on the menu for sure! Great places to walk and enjoy after your dinner. My friend and I both had gyros and thought the food was terrific. I have certainly had a lot of 'OK' gyros, these were top-notch.
