I got a Hug in a Mug, which was kind of a mocha with cinnamon, and it was very yummy; I'd get that again. I also got a bagel with cream cheese, which apparently originatese from St. Paul Bagelry, and this was also very nice. It seems like if all of these customers were to try cramming themselves into a normal-size cafe, it would be very loud and bustling. But since this is a big building, the vibes are a litte cozier even if there are lots of chatting people in there. I like it. They also have multiple tea options and some sandwiches, and even pizza, in addition to a normal baked goods case (apparently stocked by Patisserie 46 and Cardigan Donuts). They also have pottery prominently advertised, and although I didn't spot very much of that, what I did see looked really cute. I might consider one of those mugs to give as a gift some day, but I will for sure return for the coffee and to try some of their other offerings.

The spot appeared to be very popular among bikers grabbing a beverage or snack on their morning rides. I had an iced latte, which was tasty on a hot summer day. They had one of the largest flavoring selections I have seen, which was awesome. I went with the cookie butter which was so yummy. The line was very long, but the girl working the counter was turning out items quickly! They also appeared to have a large variety of treats in their display case as well as cold beverages.

I told my wife after our first meal at Diane's Place this weekend that I compared the first bite (which happened to be the green scallion croissant) to my responses to certain music. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious. Given Diane's background in pastry, don't skip dessert! We loved our experience so much on Sunday for dinner that we very quickly made a brunch reservation for Tuesday.
