I am Indian, and this is by far the best I dian food restaurant I've tried in the US. The food tastes like Indian home cooking and is made carefully with quality ingredients. The balance of spices and flavors will sweep you away into the home of an Indian auntie who made this delicious meal lovingly just for you! Great for gluten allergies. Also good for nut and dairy allergies. Many meat and vegetarian options! Highly highly recommend.

We had dinner here a day ago and couldn't be happier we found this location. I can honestly say it was the best Indian food I have ever had, we ordered the goat curry which was soooo delicious and some naan with gravy. We also had a fish curry that was so flavorful. The owner was amazing as well and all of her recipes are her own family recipes. Please go support

Disappointing. Lamb Vindaloo: tiny cubes of lamb (like 1/2") and way too much vinegar in the sauce. Asked for it at a spice level of 7 (out of 10) when she asked me -and it was maybe a 4. But we're from TX and can take some spice.... Lamb Saag: again, tiny cubes of lamb, but the saag was nice with a good consistency and flavor. I asked for a spice level of 5 and it was about a 3. Vegetable Korma: weird consistency, unidentifiable veggies and it was too sweet. The sauce is typically made with cashews and coconut- this one was made with pineapple. It was yuck. Garlic naan: burnt on the bottom with not much garlic and it didn't taste fresh- it tasted pre-made. Value: with the tip it cost like $75, and while the portions were decent size and they were generous with the rice- the lamb was skimpy and the meal wasn't very good. I wish I hadn't spent that much on it. I don't like to leave bad reviews. Maybe the recipes are from a different area of India than I'm accustomed to, or maybe the chef was being creative with his sauces. The owners were very nice and I like to support local businesses. Lots of people on here seem to love this place, so maybe it's just a regional taste thing. Maybe it's someone else's favorite Indian restaurant, but it's definitely not mine. Unfortunately I won't be returning.

Chicken Shahi Korma Very different from what I'm used to

My husband and I both got tikka masala dishes. He got chicken and I got the shrimp. In hindsight I wish I had tried the Saag just so we could have tasted a different sauce. However, the tikka masala was truly the best we've ever had. And we are always chasing excellent food so we've had our share. The dumplings were great but we would likely opt for a different appetizer as they didn't really blow us away. The service though is really what puts this place over the top. We were in a bit of a time crunch so I'm disappointed we couldn't stay longer and try dessert so we will definitely be back when we can make it down to SoNo again.

Service felt a bit understaffed, our first order took a while, and our second order never arrived. They did try to make it right, but by then we had already been there a couple of hours and the kids were definitely not going to keep sitting and waiting. We also had a small hiccup with the chai tea: it comes unsweetened with sugar on the side, but the sugar was forgotten at first. When it did arrive, there was no spoon and not quite enough packets. The chai itself was decent once we could actually sweeten it. The momos were surprisingly flavorful on their own, with a nice curry spice kick that made them enjoyable even without dipping sauce. The sauces they come with are also tasty, just be careful, as one has a pretty strong heat that lingers. We also had the chicken garlic soup, which was quite tasty with fried garlic chips on top. Overall, good food but service felt a bit overwhelmed that night.

It took a long time for us to get our food and I think by the time we got all of our food it was about 1.5 hours, which was very surprising. The slower food prep and service would make me hesitant to dine here again. But the food itself was pretty good. The tikka masala was more on the liquidy side, but the flavors were there, though the chicken was dark meat. The chicken vindaloo was on the spicier side. Everyone enjoyed the chicken korma. The garlic naan came out fresh but was not as warm by the time we got all of the dishes. Overall we thought that the food here is solid and our friends loved this place. We were just surprised at the amount of waiting here as the dishes came out with a trickle.
