I am a yoga instructor and have become very dissatisfied with the quality of Lulu's yoga bottoms. I visited Athleta and had a spectacular experience. Upon my first visit, I was greeted by the manager Erica who explained the different options for bottoms. The chaturanga leggings have the supportive feel and an excellent waist band. I think I am converting my closet to Athleta because not only are the clothes adorable but the customer service was spot on, something that's rare nowadays. read more

Was trying to buy hiking pants for our family Grand Canyon vacation while my family was shopping @ Apple and VS went in and found two pair that fit perfectly and found two other items on the way to the dressing area. I asked a sales person for help locating them rather than help they quickly said what ever we have is on the sale rack. Then I went to the register and there were three sales girls none of whom helped me even though I Was the only customer at the register. I left with out buying anything. Would rather shop on Line or at another location. Take note there were three shoppers in the entire store. The Sales people out numbered the customers. There was no Customer Service . read more

I waited with bated breath for this location to open, so I could finally see the awesome Athleta line in person rather than flip through a glossy catalog. I live in Yorba Linda and made a special trip to Fashion Island to browse the store, but left sorely disappointed. I had heard great things about the Athleta line - super cute, functional workout wear for almost every activity. Having browsed the website, I already had in mind some of the items that I wanted to try on and likely purchase. The website was having some great deals on a pair of running capris, and I was super excited to see them in person. However, much to my disappointment, the capris were NOT on sale in store. In fact, there were NO sale items whatsoever! What there were was waaaay too many saleswomen, dressed in Athleta from head to toe, that came up to me every .2 seconds to ask me if I was doing ok, if I needed anything, what kind of activity do I like to do so I can help you pick out new & fun items, etc. Despite my fairly aloof attitude, I was approached multiple times by multiple saleswomen. I do appreciate help when I need it and ask for it, but sometimes I just want to be able to browse in peace! Beautiful store, wonderful line of clothing, but I will not be back. Instead, I went straight home to my laptop and ordered the items I wanted - on sale and with free shipping, to boot. read more

Don't get me wrong...I love Athleta clothing and have ordered online several times, however, customer service seriously lacks at this location. It's the only Athleta store around me so I do go to try on clothes etc every now and then, but can walk around the whole time or stay in the dressing room without ever being approached. I'm not too picky with customer service, but this location seriously stands out as poor. Their athletic wear is great though! read more

Love the clothes but do not like the sales people. An empty store with 3 sales persons and not one say hello. It was obvious I was looking for something and yet nothing! do not order online athlete. 2 days after I placed a large order to Athleta online my card was subject to fraud- someone else ordered more from the site. I had to close my business acct and it was a major mess. This may not have had anything to do with athleta. But when I tried to exchange- I sent some things back and they put it back on my card after the associate assured me they would send me a gift card. Now they refuse to re-issue because "that's nto the policy" So my credit is in some sort of limbo adn I'm out $300.00 and I had to close my cfredit card. After hours of headache with the bank Athleta wouldn't make it write. I will never order from them again. And I was a very loyal customer. -susan read more

The Athleta web site has some items that go up to size 2X. I called this store to see if they carry any of the items at the location. It would be mildly embarrassing if I drove all the way over there with my purse full of money and was turned away. So i called and expected them to say that the plus size items are online only. That would be too bad but I would be able to deal. So I called ahead and asked "Do you have any plus size items in stock?" "What?!" "Up to size 2x?" "OH GOD NO!" [Awkward pause] "Are they online only?" "We carry that big of a size on our site?!" UGH. Not only do the staff have size issues but they don't know their own web site and offerings. I'll be taking my purse full of money elsewhere. And I have diverted my non plus size friends and their purses of money away from Athleta. read more

All of the associates that were in store today did their part in helping me with the hundreds I ended up spending today. Those pieces sure do add up quick, BUT they are all quality SQUAT-APPROVED pieces. I got two pairs of shorts, a pair of city joggers, and a pair of leggings for the ballpark price of about $220. WORTH EVERY PENNY. The alterations are free if you need them and they guarantee their clothing. If you try it for a workout and don't end up being satisfied with the product, they will take it back. Activewear heaven! I find that Gap clothing fits me very well, and since Athleta is owned by Gap, this yoga teacher has found her outfitter! This particular store is full of extremely helpful staff members and a big selection. Also, if you are a yoga teacher, be sure to let them know so you can get 30% off (making it all the easier to splurge, which is why I only go here 1-2x/year, haha) :) read more

I love my running crops (or capri?!) I purchased! They fit snug in all the right places (very similar to how lulu wunderunders fit) and for $69, not too steep. The sweat wicking and softness of their capris is phenomenal. When you walk into the store, you don't get the annoying ass lulu attitude and a much kinder return policy. You can actually return an item if you've worn it and don't love it!!! Staff was super nice and helpful, and they have some sort of lifestyle section of non-working out attire that looked cute. However, they don't have much of a sales section, but the website has a ton of items! Would totally shop here again. read more

I really love this store and company. I first started to order products from them a couple years ago and they have become my go to for good workout apparel. I love that they have tall items (I wish everything came in tall), their styles are cute but not over the top so I don't feel ridiculous wearing them, and their return policy is fantastic. The staff is always very friendly and will help you with whatever you need, they have more sizes than other athletic apparel companies do, and I love that the bag you get with your purchase is reusable. I honestly tell all of my friends and family about this company and I'll be buying goods from them for years to come. I only wish they had more store locations! read more

Amazing store, awesome clothes, and great ambience! They use black lycra in their yoga pants so you don't get that shiny "see-through" effect that i've gotten so often from other yoga brands. Four-way stretch fabric as well as anti-odor, anti-microbial, seamless tops and bottoms... I think I'm in love :) Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Definitely coming back. Soon! read more

This review is for the employees not the clothes. I have been shopping at lululemon for the past 7 years, but frankly have become bored. I got the athleta catalog in the mail yesterday and was super excited to check out the store today. I walked in and got no greeting. There were 3 girls at the counter, 1 I assume was the manager after listening to conversations. They did not even look up in my direction even though I was literally the only customer at the time. I picked up 4 items within 3 minutes and someone started me a room, but there was no customer service at all. When I made my way back to the dressing room she didn't remember me. She never checked back. I finally tracked her down and told her this is my first time here and I needed size help, etc... She brought me a few things, but didn't really seem to know the merchandise that well. She later became rude when I asked for more help. The girls at the checkout were fine, but definitely not friendly. So unfortunate. I probably would have spent 3 times the amount I did had someone been willing to show me around. These employees should take a trip to lululemon or Nordstrom for a few lessons in customer service. What a dissapointment. read more

I visited this store for the first time after ordering Athleta online for several years. I was looking for a particular item that I was interested in fitting so I could avoid the shipping fees and time involved which occurs when ordering the wrong size. After showing Chelsea the item I was interested in approximating, she walked me through the store and found several styles that were the closest to the updates they offer in the store. Chelsea and the sales assistant in the fitting room (sorry, I cannot remember her name) were so responsive, yet not hovering when I was trying on the selection. When I decided I wanted to think about the purchase before buying them, there was no hardcore sales press. Very friendly, efficient and professional service. read more

I love Athleta clothes--from workout gear to dresses/skirts to hoodies, so I would probably shop here even if the service was less than stellar. And I usually don't write Yelp reviews--unless I am overly upset OR overly impressed, and luckily, this time it's the latter. I was at the Fashion Island store this past weekend, which was Memorial Day weekend, so of course it was super-busy. Plus, they were having a sale, which I'm sure added to the crowds. It turned out that they were out of my size in 2 of the items that I wanted. After ringing up the other things that I bought (because I can never buy just 1 thing there!), the sales clerk was extremely helpful at tracking down the 2 items for me. I ended up ordering one online while in the store (free shipping when you do that), and then not only the clerk helping me but another clerk got on the phone to track down the other item at another store, so that I could order it over the phone. One of the items (the one from the store in Pasadena) arrived 4 days later and the other one is on its way. These clerks did this while the line was growing and there was general chaos with the number of people in the store. This sales staff deserves some major kudos and thanks again for all your help! read more

Definitely agree that customer service is lacking. I've been to this location twice, and no one has ever greeted me, despite the numerous times I've crossed paths with the 3-4 sales associates on the floor. Today, one of the associates looked me directly in the eye and had a half smile, but didn't say a word. I love the merchandise I tried on about 20 items, there is so much to pick from i didn't know what to buy, i loved everything and the best part are the prices. After perusing the catalogue for years and wondering how well the Athleta product would fit I was thrilled to shop at this new store in Fashion Island. While some items were abit pricier, I felt that their everyday pants were priced right inline with other stores I have shopped. What was better was the fit, the quality of fabric and the attention to detail in the design. Yes I would love a sales/clearance rack - but now that I know the skorts fit just right I can take advantage of the 20% off sales with free shipping when I get the emails. The store was clean and easy to shop without getting tangled in other racks. And I was thrilled that I was not overwhelmed by fragrances and loud music as I entered or shopped. The sales associates were incredibly helpful - sharing knowledge about fit and wearability. And they did suggest a few items that they thought would look great on my body type - I purchased 1 or 2 of these items.
