We were not taken in till 2.15pm although the baby was crying and had a hard time dealing with the wait. Than we were taken into the office by the nurse and had the baby ready for imaging. The doctor did not show up at all, because he was bussy!!!really???what?you had an emergency imaging!!!!Than,30 minutes later, a nurse showed up and tried to take the images herself but clearly she did not know what she was doing. the nurse was trying to take images for 15 minutes with no succes cause this wasn't her job, she was just covering for the doctor, while the baby was shaking from craying and hypothermia being naked in cold AC room. Finally i stopped the whole maskarade and we left with no imaging done. Two weeks later we had the images done at another center with almost no wait and images taken in less than 5 minutes. Stay away from the westchester imaging!!!!!! This is the wors experience in any doctors office I ever had by far!!!! Even worse is that my 2 months old baby had to go through this hell of a service and mistreatment!!!!! Claustrophobic to say the least. These new open MRI machines are really nice. No closed in feeling. Folks at Westbrook Open MRi are great. I got in, waited maybe 5 minutes and was taken back to the MRI room. Got on the table, was slid back into the machine and away we go. My 30 minutes was over in no time. They have lockers for your personal affects while you are having your MRI done. I would definitely recommend Westbrook to anyone needing an MRI. Cheers!

I went for an MRI for my neck at another facility within my medical group a week ago. I've had an…read morean MRI in the past for my knee so I knew what to expect. Here's my experience at the facility within my medical group: I breezed in for my MRI, they place a cage over my neck which snapped into the bed, put headphones on (the procedure is loud), then rolled me in a "tube", my nose was only inches from the wall and it was a bit dark. I'm somewhat claustrophobic, but this was awful, immediate panic attack! I tried for a moment to stay in the tube, then asked the tech to pull me out to catch my breath. I tried it again, the procedure started, but I just couldn't lay there for 20 minutes and asked her to stop and get me out. I was trembling afterwards for awhile, and affected by the whole thing for days including nightmares. I could have asked my Dr for a Valium but that's not for me. I researched online and found Westbrook Open MRI close to me. I went in apprehensively, expecting the experience to be a little better than my last one (I also needed to get the procedure done!). I met with the tech, she was wonderful! She asked questions about my condition leading me to get an MRI, walked me into the MRI room and explained everything and what to expect. The machine is open on the sides, the canopy is still close to your face, but there's a light inside which helps tremendously. She kept asking if I was ok, and gave me tips I could do to feel better. I got thru it and even calmed down while in the procedure. I will definitely go here again if I need to!!

I recently had to have a Thyroid ultrasound, due to a preventative test done at work, along with my past history involving radiation treatments. Had the ultrasound and received the report. I told the technician about my medical history, including the fact that I had radiation to the chest and neck area. The report itself is not detailed in the least bit, and only notes the reason for the scan was a preventative screening I had. There wasn't any notation about the radiation treatments, and how that could affect what was on the report. My primary care has recommended that I go see an endocrynologist, and everything from square one will have to be explained. It seems everyone in all industries is in such a hurry to get things done, and is not willing to put in the extra detail to make their work complete. This is a medical report that will get passed to different docs, yet is missing some pretty important information. Having a live person available to talk to would be helpful also, but again cost cutting measures involve automation therefore big lack of customer service. For routine tests and xrays have never had any issues, but this recent experience showed lack of detail. The type of medical facility should not be one that skimps on information given to patients and especially to doctors for analysis.

It's obvious he cares, which is pretty important when dealing with patients who are suffering from chronic pain. He's friendly and takes the time to explain each and every medication he prescribes. While Dr. Chang is amazing, his front desk staff leaves much to be desired. I don't want to go into details with that, but I will say that Dr. Chang is worth the hassle that his front desk staff creates.

Dr. Chang first performed the fluoroscopy-guided dye injection into my hip for an arthrogram, and was polite, concerned, and extremely gracious when he learned that I was mistakenly quoted a significantly lower self-pay cost than the normal charge for the second procedure he performed (diagnostic fluoroscopy-guided anesthetic injection into my hip bursa), and even offered to include cortisone in the injection at no additional cost to try and help relieve my hip pain. I was also impressed with his nurse, Irene, who went out of her way to help me find the Lincoln Park clinic where the second procedure was performed, and where they fit me in at the last minute so I could try and have some pain relieve before I went on a long-planned vacation. All and all, I can't recommend Dr. Chang highly enough. I am considering becoming a regular patient to treat my fibromyalgia, since I know he'll do a great job--and I kind of owe him the money! ;-)
