It was my first time visiting ATI Dental Care, and I went there on a friend's recommendation! The clinic looked clean and modern, but my overall experience was average. I had to wait longer than expected even with an appointment. The dentist seemed a bit rushed and didn't clearly explain the treatment. The cleaning was okay, but I expected more attention to detail. Dental services are good, customer service is not. Every appointment I've made with ATI had issues or was rescheduled, most recently they cancelled because they didn't have a hygienist available. It is never a short wait in the waiting room before the appointment either. Also, the secretary is not polite. She makes it seem like I am the problem/inconvenience when they need to cancel my appointment. I said I couldn't reschedule and she said "What ever". read more

Dr. Monika Kak has been protecting my smile for eight years now. When I first came to Dr. Kak I had contemplated dentures because of my poor dental history. Dr. Kak assessed my teeth and came up with a creative and affordable plan to save a majority of my teeth for a great smile and good bite. I was able to keep my teeth for seven years until recently when she fitted me with great looking and fitting dentures. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Making an appointment is fairly easy with options of calling or requesting a callback by text, voicemail, or through their website. I also like their optional text messages. It helps to communicate with staff and it generates an appointment reminder. Dr. Kak has always been very professional and caring to me. I appreciate that she saved my teeth and I feel that she has become a good friend of mine. I greatly recommend Dr. Kak for your dental needs. read more

HORRIBLE Experience. My wife went for oral surgery for wisdom tooth extraction in July 2022. It was done by Doctor Nitin Patel (visiting surgeon at ATI Dental). She was experiencing pain in her wisdom tooth, and we went to see Dr. Monika. She took a panoramic X-ray and suggested my wife to remove top and bottom wisdom teeth.   On the day of surgery, Dr. Patel, without checking much detail in the pano x-ray or suggesting to take a 3D x-ray, removed my wife's two wisdom teeth. The surgery took around 2 hours. In the process, he damaged her nerve, which was right below the wisdom tooth, and caused her dental paresthesia.   After the surgery, the ordeal began for her. Till date, she did not have full sensation in her right chin and lip and have muscle tightness in the lower jaw all the time. Her quality of life is affected, and she cannot concentrate on anything because of the constant inconvenience.   She also has to be on steroids and painkillers for 45 days after the surgery.   Mr. Patel did not care to see the panoramic X-ray properly and also not advised to take a 3D X-ray to see the actual position of the wisdom tooth and nerve. They also did not get informed consent from her.   Still, we regret going to ATI Dental and Mr. Nitin Patel for wisdom tooth extraction.   We waited patiently for 8 months in the hope things would get better, along with numerous visits to orofacial surgeons. However not much improvement so far. We would like to share this experience through this review. read more

The staff is super nice and courteous. The facility is clean and inviting. I called to let them know that my son and I were going to be a few minutes late and when we arrived, we were still on time for his 330 appointment. Dr. Kak is a remarkable dentist! I've had bad experiences in the past with dentist and coming here to Dr. Kak has erased all of my fears in two visits. She is consistent with her procedures and is right to the point. She's not trying to sell you anything additional that you are not in need of and I appreciate her for that. Her staff is friendly and approachable. When I arrive I wait for approximately 2-5 minutes as Dr. Kak reviews my X-rays. She starts to numb me right away and reaches for the needle, I sit there for another 5 minutes until I'm extremely numb. I had a few cavities that needed immediate attention and she surprisingly started on our first visit. I've had 3 visits to date and I have another scheduled next week to finish up a filling and a cavity. Dr. Kak has great bed side manners and she doesn't make me feel guilty for having issues in my mouth. I can say I'm actually looking forward to next weeks appointment with Dr. Kak and her staff. read more

I first started going to Dr. Monika Kak's office in 2016 when I lived in Aurora. I enjoyed my experience with her so much that even after I moved to Chicago in 2017, I continue to go to her office for all of my dental needs. Even though it now takes me about an hour to drive to her office, it's well worth it and I will continue to see Dr. Kak for the foreseeable future. There are several things that stand out about my experience with Dr. Kak. Her office is clean and comfortable. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, Dr. Kak is very warm and friendly. I feel like she really cares about my dental health and takes the time to talk to me and answer any questions I have concerning my teeth. An unexpected bonus arrived at the office recently in the form of Barbara. Barbara is without a doubt the best dental hygienist I've ever had the pleasure to work with. She has a ton of experience and is very gentle and thorough when inspecting and cleaning my teeth. Both Barbara and Dr. Kak give very clear instructions on how I can improve and maintain my oral health and I know my oral health has improved since I've been going to that office. I went to Dr. Monika Kak for my braces for two years and everything went super smooth and she was very consistent with appointments and also was very transparent along the way. She kept up with maintenance and other general dentistry things too. They had very good availability that worked for my schedule and there was no wait when I came. The staff are very friendly and they are really good for dental emergencies as well. They will accommodate you no matter what you need. This dental clinic made me suffer. She doesn't know how to extract a tooth. So my tooth was broken a bit already because it decayed and she was literally breaking and scratching my teeth that I felt so bad. She went into my gums and tried to take my tooth and she did. But along with that she left a piece left inside. She also didn't ask for my payment and I will not pay. She messed up with my tooth and I went to a different doctor and they said that's not supposed to happen and the other doctor removed it perfectly. While she was literally digging, her hands were shaking. She also said that peice cannot be taken out but I got it out, thankfully by a good doctor that was better than her. Please, DO NOT GO HERE. updated 2/12: manager called me, apologized and explained that the receptionist wrote down the wrong phone number so they failed to contact me. I rescheduled my appointment and hopefully it'll be a good experience. I was amazed by so many five stars and good reviews so I made my mind to do my dental check here. Walked in to make my appointment. The receptionist was arrogant and impatient. OK, I understand, people are not always in the mood. So my appointment was scheduled to this Friday, which happened to be a snowy day. I wasn't sure if the dentist is open. I remembered the receptionist said they'll call to remind me about the appointment. They didn't call. I called in but nobody answered. No recorded message stating they're closed. So I decided to dig my car out and show up. The result? Of course they're closed! I understand that the snowstorm makes it hard for employees to come to work. What pissed me off is that there's so much they could do to let me know about this - they could call me, they could email me, they could record a message so when I call in I'll be informed. But they did nothing. I don't believe this is a sign of showing respect to their customers. So although I haven't actually been seen by them, I've got a very bad impression and would consider to do my check somewhere else. My time is precious and I don't want to waste it on someone who doesn't care. read more

The place is clean and the first visit I had with them this year was alright but the second visit was horrible. They recommended Invisalign the first time and I had asked for them to get an estimate with my insurance. 6 months later I find out they never even put it in their notes nor did they process anything. All that time was wasted. I have called them in the past to check on the status and nothing was done. I also don't understand their system because they sent an email about requesting to change the time of my appointment but then they have an "automated" system that will send you a reminder with the original scheduled time. I clicked confirm to the message and when I came here at my appointment time they said they were closing and that the automated message was incorrect. They said they tried to call me but they didn't even have the correct phone number for me and I've been coming here for at least two years. To travel from the city to just come up here was a waste of time and I will be looking else where for my next dental visit. read more

At first, I liked Sr. Kak, bit had a repeated problem with one of the staff. I was quoted one price, then charged antoerhj. She said she would phone in a prescription, but did not, Even when I was standing trhere, biting on guaze from two extractions. Then, after my husband went thru the same thing, we found out tha the office did not even know that a hard copy prescription was required for Tylenol withi codeine. I had an extraction, was charged $385, and after it had apparently healed, had a sore spot on my gums. After a few weeks, a sharp shard of enamel emerged in that spot, but I couldn;t budge it. It was a Saturday nioght. It came out the next day, unknown to me. I must have swallowed it with my lunch, Then, they screwed up an appointment, That was the last straw. I called in advance and requested a copy of my records and xrays. When I came in the next day, they were not ready. She had a one-page printout of my records, which the recpetionist did not give me, and said that it would take a long time to individually print the xrays, and that she would email them. That was Satruday. Today is Tuesday. I canned to find out why I had not recieved them, was perfectly pokite, but she hung up on me. When I called back, they would not anwer the phoine. THAT is how they do things. Incredibly unprofessional staff. THE WORST. read more

We brought our 96 year old mother to Dr. Kak for dentures. The whole family was concerned as to this procedure but it was what Mom really wanted and so we went along with it. I don't think we could have chosen a more perfect dentist for Mom. Dr. Kak helped to ease this woman's mind, her family's mind and do the job that has made Mom so happy. She is smiling again and looks great. She did have some difficult time adjusting but she has been missing many teeth for many years so she had to get used to having a full set of teeth again! We had very good experience with ATI dental care. My mother was visiting from India last month. She had bad toothache so we called ATI and got immediate appointment. After a course of antibiotics it was decided to extract the tooth since it was in bad shape due to decay. Dr. kak got us in again on short notice . Procedure went smooth. Follow ups were quick . I have been a patient of Dr. Kak's for a few years now. I have found her to be very careful, kind, and exceptional at her job. Being a "difficult" patient, I looked to Dr. Kak for the calming manner and soothing attention as some of her most admirable qualities. I found her via a Dentist website that rated local dentists in my area and the reviews she had gotten then were excellent. Nothing has changed. She is willing to go above and beyond what other dentist have done for friends and family of mine. Most don't really "like" their dentist. I do. Dr. Kak is wonderful and she strives to make your visit as painless as possible. She will take the time to explain what she is doing, the instruments she is using, the general welfare of your teeth, and what you are required to do as a patient and someone who wants to keep as many original teeth as possible. She is also very flexible to financial terms. I was a total wuss (still am) when I had my first visit with her. When I explained my trepidation, she explained to me what I was facing and what the outcome would be. I am older and I can say she has saved a few of my teeth now. There is no other dentist I will go to. I have placed my mouth in her hands and she has risen to the challenge and has earned my utmost respect. Rest assured, if you are scared and you are in pain, Dr. Kak will guide you through your treatment like a protective mother. Everytime I think I am going to lose a tooth, Dr. Kak saves it.
