Dr. Layne is very polite and explains everything he is doing. He checks in to see if you're experiencing any pain. I've been to this office multiple times and never waited more than 10 minutes to see the dentist. At my previous dentist, I'd wait 45 minutes or more every time. I would recommend this practice. Very poor service at North Aurora location. Went in for a filling, they did not do the job well. Filling came off in a week. I had to go back to get it done again. Know what? That second filling also came off in TWO days.. what a fun? NEVER going back again here. Worst service. Also, they asked me to pay my coinsurance there rather than me paying my insurance company. It was the first time I had such a billing experience. Altogether Poooooor service. read more

As someone who is not fond of visiting the dentist, I have to say that my experience at Aurora Dentrix was a pleasant surprise. I felt completely at ease in Dr. Layne's care. He was very upfront and honest with me regarding the work I needed to have done. He also took his time while working on me and was very gentle, constantly checking in with me to see if I was experiencing any pain. I was referred to Aurora Dentrix by someone in my Family and I went there to perform some work that required fillings and a crown. The dentist was young, pretty and super nice and hence the 2 stars. The crown I was given was a different color than the rest of my teeth and even though the dentist told me that the color will eventually change to take the color of my teeth, that never happened. After a few months of setting the crown, that same tooth started moving and it is now on the verge of breaking out of its harness. I went to see that same dentist who worked on it and she said that I now require implants or I can settle for a bridge (scary concept to me). It is important to mention that most insurances and specifically mine, do not cover much when it comes down to implants. It is extremely shocking that a clinic like this would not stand behind its work and that the patient who came for a common issue like a crown will have to be left to lose his tooth at an early age. Nothing personal between me and the dentist, who again was very nice in person. However, in almost every industry, those who get paid handsomely to perform a certain common task, usually stand behind their work and correct it, if the work was proven to not be sufficient. It would be nice for the clinic management to reach out to me (I am sure they would know who I am) and try to fix this mess that was created because of poor planning and execution. A crown should last many years and sometimes decades and should never start moving and falling off after few months of being done. Once and if the clinic responds back, I will surely edit this post. CHECK YOUR BILL. The receptionists, especially on the weekend, seem quite clueless.. They incorrectly billed me. The atmosphere is cold and uninviting. Patients are treated like cattle, herded in, herded out. They use completely inexperienced assistants, shout orders and then leave the assistant with a look of sheer panic on their face, since they have no idea what they are doing. I visited on a busy Saturday, and despite the busy waiting room, the receptionist acknowledged me immediately and the dental assistant took care of my right on time. Dr Reed Layne was also a pleasure. He was friendly and conversational and though I have sensitive teeth, he treated me with care and the visit was painless! Amazing! Dr. Khare (Inshu) is a sweetheart! I knew her from a previous life and drove from Chicago to Aurora because I knew she was a trustworthy dentist. I went for a second opinion because some dentists in the city were trying to charge me over $1k in services (fillings, deep cleanings, etc.) I went to Dr. Khare and, whaddya know, all I needed was a cleaning. Before coming here, I dreaded going to the dentist. 3 years ago Dr. Layne turned that right around. No sitting in a waiting room for an hour, no pushing cosmetic dentistry you don't need, no over-priced cleanings. Dr. Layne was attentive and efficient however, providing sound advice and top-notch technology. For instance, since I have sensitive gums, the doc recommended an ultra-sonic cleaning procedure which apparently uses sound waves to clean your teeth. Sounds fancy, but really just cleans your teeth without all the scraping and irritation, and in half the time. Since the first visit I have benefited from long term dental solutions, as well as regular cleanings, and it's actually enjoyable. I stick to the obligatory twice-a-year visits now and even floss! Whoever answers the phones had the worst customer service, continuously interrupted me, and I was upset because good customer service is a big deal to me. Dr. Layne is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I was anxious about going to a new dentist especially after 2 years without a checkup. His assistant (I believe her name was Lia or Mia) sat me in the room and was very professional and friendly. She took my xrays and made conversation with me and within five minutes of being seated Dr. Layne saw me. We discussed my dental history and concerns and I had an exam and cleaning as well. He was extremely gentle, personable, and kind. It was so relieving to find a friendly office with an honest dentist who truly cares about his patients and is considerate of their financial situations. I will be going back for all my future treatment and cleanings and will be bringing my family as well. read more

Horrible experience with this place. I went in for a routine dental cleaning which is 100% covered under my insurance. I called my insurance to make sure they were in network and the office to ask if Dr. Layne is a primary Dr at this location prior to going. 8 months later they are calling me asking for my insurance information and stating my insurance I gave them was only medical, not dental, which is not true. On top of that, they called my EMERGENCY contact on file to try to get my information because I was at work and could not receive calls at the time which was not cool at all and possibly illegal. I spoke to my insurance company and they informed it looked like they are trying to submit a claim under a different Dr than the one I saw. I thought I was done with this place over 6 months ago but now everything is in limbo and I may end up getting charged for a simple cleaning that should be covered easily. They really need to figure out what they're doing at this place. read more

Awful receptionists who incorrectly scheduled my appointment to 10:00 when I told them 10:30, so I could not get in when I showed up at my 10:30 scheduled time and had to reschedule. By looking at reviews I am not the first person to have a problem with their receptionists.
